I think that we could do a lot better with anthony mason in there. He can rebound, score and he has one hell of a body to play physical basketball. He could run juwan into the ground. |

I dont know that anyone here is obsessed with Anthony Mason, Im just stating facts that he averages a double double every night when he was in miami, I agree he is a hut case, but he plays hard and agressive. Just what we need, to throw our weight around. I do not believe we can win a championship with Howard at the starting position. I may be wrong, If I am, I will admit it. |

I agree that we probably won't win a title with Howard but if we're talking about winning a title, the problem lies with the big guy in the middle. Not Howard [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] . |

well, rob, it's easier to get a guy that can play very solid defense at the 4 spot than it is the 5. and the mavs do have a guy at the 5 spot that would fit very nicely with a solid defenisve player at the 4 spot. |

No way! >> That's not really a fair comparison- Tim Duncan is a superstar power forward and probably the second best player in the league, while Anthony Mason is an undersized tough-but-average PF with a severe attitude problem. I would say we're more likely to win a championship with a Duncan/Bradley frontcourt than we are with a Howard/Duncan frontcourt. __________________ |

yes mavsfan, because the lakers would still have a dominating inside presence on defense...juwan would be a very nice fit with the lakers..would give them a great third scoring option |

Anthony Mason - a 6'8" Power forward that cries if he doesn't get the ball enough. Just what the Mavs need. Do you really think he'll fare better against Shaq or Duncan than Howard will. I won't even mention the fact that his back to the basket, catch and dribble, isolation dependant scoring ability is about to be obliterated by the new zone defense rules. Did I mention he'd probably cost a fortune to aquire? Thanks but no thanks, I'll stick with Howard. There is a reason Mason can't land a job in the NBA. It sounds like the basketball leagues in Europe, Israel, Siberia or Pakistan might be calling soon for our good friend Anthony. |

The reason I asked the ? is because.....Juwan is our 4th option if our top options are good enough (ie. LA)....you can win regardless of who your 4th option is.... if your saying that all we need is a low post defender then your problem should go more to the way of saying we will never win a championship with howard and bradley as our 4 and 5...rather then just making it sound as if the only solution is to get rid of juwan... |

we need a physical-type rebounding/defending big man. shaq is that for the lakers. among other things. juwan isn't. i do agree that there isn't anyone available that could fill that for us. juwan is an above average PF, and he will be fine. __________________ |

Well hopefully Juwan is going to make a more concious effort about rebounding this year. He has said for every rebound and assist he gets this year he will donate $50 to the relief fund in DC from the 9/11/01 attacks. __________________ |
