ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — The New York state Legislature has passed a bill that would allow parents to block their kids from getting social media posts suggested by a platform’s algorithm — a regulation that tries to curtail feeds that critics argue are addicting to children. Lawmakers in the state Assembly gave the bill final approval on Friday. The move comes amid heightened concern about social media use among children and an ever-unfolding push to regulate tech platforms in different ways at the state and federal levels. The governor is expected to sign the bill. It would take effect 180 days after the attorney general establishes mechanisms to determine a user's age and parental consent.

Fuhrman, who is white, was one of the first two police detectives sent to investigate the 1994 killings of Simpson’s ex-wife and her friend. Diana Ross, Eminem and Jack White perform for thousands as former Detroit eyesore returns to life

DETROIT (AP) — Some of Detroit’s greatest musical exports performed at a concert celebrating the historic reopening of an 18-story structure that long symbolized their hometown’s decline. Diana Ross, Eminem and Jack White took part in Thursday night's event called “LiveFromDetroit: The Concert at Michigan Central.” The refurbished train station reopens to the public on Friday, six years after Ford Motor Company took control of the building and more than three decades since the last train pulled out. The vacant Michigan Central Station fell into disrepair and became an emblem of the Motor City’s decay. The sold-out, ticketed outdoor event also featured performances by Big Sean, the Clark Sisters and Fantasia.
