Hi Pati,
I made this for appetizer for Thanksgiving. I didn’t have enough limes, so I added fresh orange juice and used the Cuisinart to grind the onion and some orange juice as I have non onion eaters. They didn’t even know the onions were there. It was truly a hit. Thank you so much for this recipe.

I don’t know if you still read the comments but I’ve made this twice for my extended family parties and all have loved it. And it’s so easy to make and flavorful. I used bagged frozen shrimp as a cheat and Serrano peppers.
With a salad and home flan for dessert, it’s a Mexican fiesta night!

Hola!
I just made this and it was delicious!! I did have to omit the Cilantro, because my wife tastes it as soap, (very common) so I left it out and added some to my plate. I also served it with a little Tabasco for myself for some more heat.
All in all very easy and great!

Hey George, I do not add orange soda to my co*cktail but I know it is a very popular ingredient, I might try a recipe soon! The shows are still on Amazon Prime, all seasons from 3 to 9. You can also watch on your local PBS or Create Station 😉

I made this as an appetizer to bring for a pot luck Thanksgiving Day dinner at my friend’s house. It was easy to make and was a definite hit! I added scallops with the shrimp and it was amazing! This is my second recipe that I’ve made after watching Pati’s show! Both were amazing!

¡Hola Pati! Es la primera vez que te escribimos! Y solo te queremos decir que nos Encarta tus recetas. Nosotros somos una feliz pareja Cubana/Americana. Nos uncanta tu receta de coctel de camarones a lo Pacifico. Nosotros tambien somos costenos y mi especialidad es mariscos de todo tipo. Yo le agrego unas cositas extra como una salsita muy rica que es Jamaiquina llamada “PICKAPEPPA”, esta encluye como engredientes – vinagre de cana, azucar, tomatillos, cebollas, pacitas, sal de mar, jengibre, pimenteros, ajo, clavos, pimento negro, timo, mangos, cascaras de naranja. Tambien tiene muchos usos para sopas, pescado, carnes, asado de caza, mariscos, platos de quesos, ensaladas, y salsas. Agregale un poquito al coctel y veran la diferencia ! Maravilloso ! Buena suerte !

Pati-Love, love, love the show! I am a native San Diegan currently living in Idaho. I so miss the wonderful, fresh food of Mexico and Baja, and your show allows me to recreate many of them. I can assure you that fabulous seafood and many of the Mexican dishes I grew up with are unavailable here. This shrimp dish reminds me of the great shrimp dishes I’ve had in Ensenada, Tijuana, and Mazatlan. Muchas gracias, y bon appetite!
