Hi folks. My grandpa gave me his 53 pickup when I was 13. I'm 52 now. My dad and I used to drive it but now it's been sitting for quite a few years. It's stored at my sister's house in another state for now so my progress will be slow for awhile.

Thanks for the welcoming. I'll have to see if I can find an old picture of it to post.

Welcome from Colorado, Reid. What are your plans for your Willys Pickup? Are you keeping it Stock or Modifying/Upgrading it? How do you plan to USE it? Post pictures of it when you can. Pivnic

I had new side windows cut for him earlier this month while I was up there visiting. And put them in. So I have started the process at least. That pic was taken in 2000,it basically looks the same.
I brush painted it to the current color when I was about 14 or 15. Lol! Original color was a really nice dark blue-green color. It was red and white at some point. I had a picture of it when my grandpa had it. It was red then,I'll post it if I find it.

You asked this question years ago. Sorry for the slow response. I'm trying to keep it on a budget/stock build. Nothing too fancy.

Here are some newer pictures. I bought tires for it but when I took them to the tire shop with the old rims, the old rims were pretty much shot so I got these white wagon wheels for it.

Thanks to the moderator that turned my original picture so it wasn't sideways anymore.

As a 13-year-old, the seat was in dire need of repair so instead of keeping it I threw it away and replaced it with a bench from a diner. Hahaha. I got a seat from a first generation Dodge Dakota a few years ago and replaced the diner bench with a real truck seat. Not original but better than the diner bench. So I'm getting a few parts here and there from different types of trucks just to mostly get the truck up and running and driving. After some of the temporary fixes I may go more original with it. I'm definitely working on a budget.

Glad to hear you are able to get back to work on the truck. Enjoy the ride, as there will undoubtably be some hills and dales and detours, even.

Aren't there always some bumps along the way? But it is something to look forward to.

Depends upon one's point of few. So Cal folks tend to think of any place north of LA as northern Cal. (At least that was what I gathered from my 20 years living in San Diego.) I am in the central valley, 90 miles south of Sacramento. 20 miles east of Modesto.

Ahh, I see that was likely a question for Reid.
