I cannot log in – is this normal at this time.

I cannot seem to login to my account to borrow books. I changed my password, but it won’t let me login. Is that just not working at this time?

When will everything be up and running like before, I can’t get in to my account and when will the site have its playing button back so people can listen?

Text searching and logging-in do not seem to be restored. Any timelines for those?

I have been a regular use or Internet Archive. But I am unable to log in. I see the books are available for viewing, but logging in is not possible. Can you explain why?

So, what happened? I’m looking through X/Twitter (I don’t use the other two sites) and don’t see any explanation.

When I try to log on, I get the message: “We’re sorry. Login is not allowed at this time.”
Is this the case for everyone, and if so, will we be able to log on soon?

I been trying to log in my account it not let me in I tried to rest my password too

I’m still hoping to login; I can’t read Mammoth Book of Dinosaurs anymore!

Thank you for the update, but may I strongly suggest that you be far more diligent in regularly posting updates about the state of the website than you have been so far? With tens of millions of users it is unconscionable how little communication there has been. The updates don’t need to be lengthy, but enough to convey the sense that you are a professional rather than a fly-by-night operation. Thanks!

I cannot sign on to my archive.org account (I got an approved replacement password) but get this message:

“For latest updates, please check this blog and our official social media accounts: X/Twitter, Bluesky and Mastodon.” I cannot use these because I don’t have accounts with them.

Am puzzled at being locked out of archive.org. Is there anything I can do? Before this problem, I read/listened to books from archive.org every day, about 7 days a week.

How come I made a user name and ID and it doesn’t let me log in?

I understand that you are in the process of making the site more secure following an attack. However, when I try to log in, I am told that my login details are incorrect. So I asked you 3 times to allow me to enter a new password, but I am told that my login details are incorrect. Now, I no longer know the password that you have stored in your database. It’s October 29, 2024; Why is the ‘SEARCH’ function LIMITED to ‘meta data’ searches ONLY..?
A user NO LONGER has the option to search ‘TEXT CONTENTS’ of the library collection why is this..??

Idk if it’s just me but the Sign Up button isn’t working as in it takes me to the login page instead of sign up. If this problem is already being worked on then great! If not I hope I brought it to your attention.

When will Open Library really be back online? Currently it is not possible to sign in or open, download and read books. It seems that it’s only possible to search for, and view previews of books. That doesn’t really satisfy my definition of being “back online”. When will it be possible to actually sign in, access, and read books again? I realize that it’s been a very trying time for you, and I have empathy, but can’t you work a bit faster on getting Open Library back in full working order?

I am sorry for the DDOS attack. This is a valuable resource (it’s why I support it). I tried logging into my account today and it gave me an error message so I am unable to to borrow. I assume that part is not yet back online? I also tried loading a video and the video player did not work.

If I am reading this right log in is not available? I am trying to finish a book I was reading before the hacking and can’t log in. I even changed my password.

Hi, I understand your Internet Archive team is working on top priorities since the hack attack earlier this month. I’m curious if you have any idea when we can resume uploads and edits for our collections? I have several uploads in the queue for when archive.org is fully functional, for my FM Radio Archive collection. Thanks, Kim Paris

Your site was breached in Sept, I never got any info from you about it & only found out recently when I ran a test to see if my email addresses were safe, that’s when I found out. Had to change all my passwords so deleted the archive from my computer. That’s sad.

Are there more weakest link 2000 episodes in the right order from September to December available yet

I just reset my password (10-30-2024), not thinking that logging in is still not yet a restored service. Not sure if I will need to reset it again, once things are more up and running!

I believe I may know who orchestrated the recent DDoS attack involving the hacking of the Web Archive. I am conducting a journalistic investigation into the owner of a website, with plans to hand over evidence to the police and assist in bringing charges in court related to the online corruption of minors, of which he has been made aware. After the Web Archive breach, I noticed that copies of his website remain, but specific pages, which serve as crucial evidence in my investigation, have disappeared.

The website owner in question is a former British programmer, now a successful entrepreneur and millionaire. He could easily afford to hire any team of hackers for his purposes. Furthermore, he has previously been implicated in using malicious software, as documented in publicly available sources.

Thank you for the update. I’m just not savvy enough to understand how it impacts the one thing I use all the time. Probably it’s embarrassing to admit but it’s just an old Dave Norris game, Taipei, 3.10 – and it seems like it should be working but the message is “Failed to download IA item metadata!” I keep emailing Internet Archive, but no one ever responds so I’m just not sure where it falls into the picture of the hacking. ANY response is appreciated.
