We can’t think of a better way to roll into the weekend than to share this wholesome video of a weenie on wheels! ‘Opal’s lower half was completely paralyzed one month ago, but today, she’s starting to use her hind legs with the help of a specially- made wheelchair. We couldn’t resist decorating it with some stickers, so she can stroll the streets in style! 💁♀️🛞

A lot of owners are hesitant to let staff take their pet to “the back” for treatments and we completely understand being afraid of the unknown. So, here is a little sneak peak of random happenings in the treatment area: one doctor hand feeding a hospitalized patient and another doctor waiting to get ahold of an owner to go over diagnostics. Except, usually Dr. Romero is the one dancing 😆💃🏼
What’s the craziest thing your pet has ever eaten? Year after year, the holidays never fail to bring about more urgent veterinary visits. Even though we are not technically an emergency clinic, we still see an increase in cases pertaining to an animal getting into something they shouldn’t be (toxic ingredients, excessive human food, Christmas decorations, crafting items, etc.). Recently, ‘Leo’ the Goldendoodle came in after swallowing beads and string. He had been vomiting and breathing strangely for several hours so his owner brought him in. Upon X-Ray we realized something even his mom didn’t know, he swallowed the needle too! Once sedated, we knew we’d either have to to do abdominal surgery to remove all foreign material or we could get away with carefully removing the needle from the mouth-end if the string came out whole. Thankfully for Leo, the latter happened! It never ceases to amaze us what animals think are good ideas (example: Dr. Arteficio’s face in the back 😆). This video is not for the faint of heart, but definitely for all of you pimple poppers out there! This kitty came in with a large abscess from a wound of an unknown origin and we were able to drain it successfully. Since it can be a painful process, we apply a local anesthetic to the area before expressing. After it is over, there are only feelings of relief. Please watch at your own risk 😱😅
‘Capone’ is only happy to be here when he is being cradled in the treatment area. If that is what keeps his tail wagging and face smiling, we are more than willing to oblige ☺️💙
