Codorus State Park is a sprawling 3,490-acre park that offers numerous recreational activities for visitors. The park boasts of Lake Marburg, which provides ample opportunities for fishing and boating. Besides this, there are extensive trails for hiking and areas designated for hunting and camping. The park also has plenty of wildlife to observe and bird-watchers will have an excellent time exploring the area.

Gorgeous park! Beautiful views all over. We visited to play on the Disc Golf courses, and they were alot of fun! It was a really pretty park to explore, and the well spaced, very clean and well stocked bathrooms were a delightful surprise! I really enjoyed the Red course, fun wooded parts and some right by the water too. We will definitely be back to visit again.

This was a spur of the moment stop on our road trip. We needed a place to sleep and the Rangers were very nice. We told them all we had was hammocks, so we needed a site with trees, and they knew exactly which one was best for us. The bathhouse was very clean. The showers were nice and had very hot water. We also got a perfect spot to see the northern lights.

Mandy B — Google review

This state park is really beautiful. The water is so clear. The day that I was there, it was extremely foggy out, making it difficult to see far across the lake. I plan to go back more times to fish and picnic with my wife.

SA X — Google review

Codorus state campground provided a comfortable and quiet stay. The trailer sites in loop C are spacious enough with plenty of shades and trees. The open field pet friendly sites are also large but provide no shade and it gets hot! You can feel the difference between these sites and the interior loop sites. No cross winds, no breeze, just hot! We stayed at site 116 with a 34’ camper and site 136 open field.Campground trails are ok for a short walk, not much of a lake view but mostly shaded trail. The pool is conveniently located maybe even walking distance for some. But be advised, this is a public pool open to everyone and folks start showing up at 7am, separate entrance road and entry fee was around $10 pp. The lake is great! Lovely areas to relax and explore. No swimming allowed anywhere but you can find places to sneak a dip 😉 just look past marina near state park public recreation area. The park staff won’t give you a hard time they just ask that you don’t go further than waist deep. It is a very large lake. We highly recommend that you rent a pontoon boat to head out and explore! Very worth it! All grounds and areas are clean and kept in great condition

Wailym C — Google review

We stayed in tent only camping site near lake. Kids and family enjoy the camping and afternoon in water park. Definitely recommend for anyone looking to spend summer close to nature. It’s kids friendly camping site and lots to do and see.

Indu P — Google review

Beautiful state park! Water was clean and warm. Great kayaking. Seen lots of paddle boards. The place is huge. Lots to explore. The campground had some very awesomely tall trees. But other than that it was your typical rv after rv. People everywhere. We stayed in the tent area. We used clothesline rope and shower curtains (or tarps) for privacy barriers. If you camp for peace and quiet don't camp here. Worked great for a base camp. We enjoyed our time here.

Jodi — Google review

Beautiful lake. Kayak, Ponton, paddle boat, Canoe rentals are also available.

Pradeep C — Google review

Codorus is a boater's delight with many small peninsulas that jut into the lake. As a result, there are boat launches all around the lake. Or maybe you want to keep your boat at the park, and you can do that. No boat? Stop at the rental center. You can rent all sizes up to some so big, you may see yourself as Captain Stubing. Bring that white hat and white sailing jacket and welcome your 15 guests aboard. There are great camp sites and one of the best camp host sites I've seen at a park. There's a pool near the campgrounds, which is good because there's no swimming in the lake, but people can't help but wade into the lake a little as it's so pretty. The park has two hiking only trails, But if you count the horseback trails and the mountain bike trails that you can also hike, it adds up to over 19 miles.Codorus's disc gold course is challenging to the point that the 2005 state championship was held here. There's also a scuba diving area called Sinsheim Cove. With all its coves and plenty of picnic tables, there's no reason you can't find a private spot to look at the lake or go fishing. This park even has a gift shop. Definitely a weekend worth of fun.For events at this park visit: events dcnr paFor more information: pa parks and forests(diamond)

We had a fun group camping trip (A loop) including great fishing spots, an awesome pool, and friendly neighbors. The shop at the campground guard shack was a lifesaver. There's so much to do for all ages throughout the park and staff was super helpful with everything. Would absolutely camp there again!

Jon R — Google review

Stayed in site 88 and loved it. Very spacious. Friends and family were in surrounding sites, so we basically had the whole corner to ourselves. Flat and wide. Well shaded with tall trees, but little brambles and underbrush allowed plenty of space for tents. Bathhouse was well maintained and heated. Only stayed for a weekend and spent that time relaxing at camp (just the way I like it), so did not get to explore the rest of the park more unfortunately.

Amanda F — Google review

Hook very from none to full of booking beware of what type of site available Snagged a last minute weekend reservation. #62 Site was full hook up. Travel in a motorhome site slopped pretty good that it took all our leveling blocks. They slope for water run off but it's on the extreme end. This is a black top pad had large area with a picnic table and fire ring. This side is on a corner and over looks the tree. Pool is available for a fee it in the park but not in the campground area has a boat ramp but really for kayaks and paddle boards.very steep path/road The public dock is up the road. The campground has multiple styles of campsites from big rig to tent. The playground is over at loop C, sites are all open and minimal hook up portable water filling stations throughout. Larger loop area for dumping station near exit. It's a great place to just sit back and relax or hike.

Kelly L — Google review

The water is so incredibly clean. The boat rentals are reasonable. Lots of options for things to do on and off the lake. It's absolutely gorgeous. Will be back!

Elizabeth H — Google review

Codorus is one of the cleanest lakes Ive found in the area that also has warmer temps. We have been enjoying the lake this summer. No swimming, but you can wade to chest deep. Paddleboarding and kayaking is permitted with launch permit. I believe heavy duty float tubes are also allowed anchored in non boating areas.

Kerry M — Google review

This is one of our favorite parks to go. Love the boat ride there. You have to call before you go for boat reservation. Also good for a little picnic. The natural beauty is amazing. Lots of birds & ducks there. Very serine.

Sibat A — Google review

A beautiful park which has an excellent pool with 5 life guards and 2 curling slides. It was a bit of a drive from York but worth it.

Rebecca F — Google review

Black Rock Lodge was the perfect location for a family getaway. Grandparents took the downstairs bedroom with accessible bathroom, the other 2 generations slept upstairs. The big kitchen/living room was a great gathering place. The kitchen had all the dishes, cookware and appliances we needed. The large yard had space for badminton and a couple of spots to fish from. More fishing and a boat ramp next door. The gate helped provide privacy as people tended to turn into the driveway looking for the boat ramp.Park staff was very helpful with a breaker that tripped and they answered a dozen questions before and during our stay.We had so much fun fishing and kayaking that we never made it to the swimming pool or trails. Next year, I hope!

Aileen C — Google review

We took our first family camping trip here and it was wonderful. All the rangers were super helpful and nice. The facilities were clean. There is even a small convenience store for items you forget to bring or run out of. My only issue was that the closest water source to our camp site was out of order and we were pretty far away from the restrooms when we needed to draw water.A little more planning on which spot to reserve next time on our part is needed.

Amanda W — Google review

This is the first time we have camped at this park. It's quiet and peaceful. Shaded slots are numerous. The staff is very friendly, helpful and kind. The women and men toilets/showers are clean. The women's bathrooms and showers could be updated. There is no shelving at the sinks to lay your things. The showers could use hanging shelves over the shower head to put shampoo, creme rinse, and soap. It's a great place to camp with family and friends. There are just a few inconveniences in the bathroom's.We will definitely stay here again. Book early!!

Irene J — Google review

Lots of places to go and explore in this state park, beautiful sunset's, great fishing or just relax with the family

Michael S — Google review

This State Park is phenomenal! Great place to take the kids for a swim, great camping, wonderful playgrounds, wonderful hikes, LOVE the mountain bike trails, wish there were more of those, pet friendly, great kayaking and great boating and fishing. This park is well rounded for nearly all outdoor festivities.

It’s a nice place for family visit for ice creams.Ice creams are very tasty and yummy 😋For kids they can see cows and calf’s, also there is a little maze in their corn field for kids to play and this is the top notch for kids & they will like it.Location wise it’s very good scenery and calm, you can feel the pleasant here…

SBS S — Google review

What a wonderful experience! You can pet the baby cows in the back. The farm store has incredible ice cream as well as locally sourced and locally made goods. Make sure to try their flavor of the month ice cream! I absolutely recommend a visit here. I look forward to coming back at another time.

Karolyn B — Google review

Our first time there. We got a few baked goods and icecream. We recommend the chocolate mint chip and also the blueberry cheesecake. So smooth and creamy and yummy. Not overly sweet. The waffle bowl and cone are great too

Paige M — Google review

The BEST ice cream (I got raspberry... so good), nice people inside the store with lots of goodies and treats to buy, including specialty milks/candy/baked goods/soap etc... and the best part is you can pet baby cows... for free!!!!!! These baby cows loved me. There was also a hand washing station and sanitizer which I appreciated.

Ashya M — Google review

Cute little farm where you get to pet the sweet calves & enjoy some ice cream. They even had a fun corn maze for the kids. Definitely worth visiting if you’re in the area.

David C — Google review

My kids, as well as myself love coming here they buy far have the best ice cream with lots of different favorites to choose from and the kids always love seeing and petting the cows They have a little store inside that you can buy milk, candies, and lots of other goodies. There are picnic tables outside, corn maze and a little handwashing station outside as well.

Katie H — Google review

What is there not to like about Perrydell. From shakes, to treats to different flavors of milk, you will find something you can enjoy and take with you.During the warmer months you can enjoy the sight of some farm animals, while entertaining conversations with others as you enjoy your purchase from Perrydell.

Artyemis C — Google review

Great ice cream, and the baby cows are so adorable! The kiddos get to pet the baby cows and see the adult ones as well. Nice area outside to sit down some tables with shade. Natural hand made things inside and you can buy their fresh made ice cream to bring home too <3 love this place

L M — Google review

We go here after our staff meetings every so often. A big hit with the staff. We get "cow therapy" petting the cows!

Coby L — Google review

It's a free self-guided tour to see the Dairy calves and cows and there's a nice shop filled with dairy products and other treats!

Nicole K — Google review

Ice cream is always fresh and delicious. The gift shop is nice and has some unique items. The main draw if you have kids is the cows. You can pet most of them and see the milking process. It's pretty neat

Bruce B — Google review

Ice cream is so yummy! The products are good! Very nice for family and kid hang out!

Thuyvan L — Google review

By far the best ice cream in the area. It's creamy and tastes extremely fresh. Definitely worth the stop if you're close by.

Alex M — Google review

Sooo many flavors of ice cream! We got Peeps flavored. You can buy pints of lots of interesting flavors.

Robert E — Google review

We came here as a family yesterday to see the cows and get some ice cream. It is a working farm, so definitely keep your kids close. It was nice to be able to walk around and see the calves, the cows, and the milking parlor in action. The ice cream was pretty good too!

Chelsea M — Google review

I have tasted their milk multiple times in the past and I know that my son loves their chocolate milk. I just never knew where it was located. So the wife and I were looking for new ice cream places to visit and this place popped up on my maps. So we visited. It was a good time. Nice little grocery store with farm-type of items, ice cream shop, and, of course, dairy products. Staff were pleasant. You can walk about the farm on a self-guided tour and just was a nice trip.

Brandon P — Google review

Great ice cream and a good experience for everyone.

Rusty W — Google review

Very interesting place. A store with many food items to purchase and counters but you have to go outside to order and pickup. I've never seen that before. Peach ice cream was yummy and worth every calorie. I drove 2 hours and this was my first stop when arriving in York.

Jody B — Google review

Stopped by since they are featured on the ice cream trail! Part of a farm they have a small store. We had various purchases and wanted to try their ice cream we were told we had to order and then wait outside. One in our group asked for a certain flavor milkshake, we were told they were out but the flavor was in the case. He ended up with a mint chocolate chip that was so strong of mint it did not taste good at all. The staff was not friendly and seemed annoyed to be there. I can give everything else a pass until the customer service fails. Outside they have very few picnic tables for the amount of customers. On the plus side the blueberry cheesecake ice cream was delicious but unfortunately not enough to bring us back.

Amanda H — Google review

This place has the largest ice cream cones! I couldn’t even finish the double scoop of ice cream that I ordered. The apple cheesecake flavor-of-the-month was quite sweet; however, it was still delicious.Unfortunately, the staff will only let you sample the flavor-of-the-month. On the bright side, the flavor-of-the-month is discounted 25 cents a scoop. This place is great for kids. The farm has a window where you can watch cows being milked. If your visit coincides with the farmers feeding their roughly 40 calves, you will be in for a real treat!

WellSpan Park is a 5,200-seat baseball stadium that opened in 2007 and serves as the home of the York Revolution minor league team. Visitors praise the variety of food available, with particular mention of the delicious funnel cake. However, some find parking to be inconvenient due to distance and cost. The park is known for its clean facilities, friendly staff, and reasonable prices for both tickets and concessions.

Area is rough. Makes ya wonder? I've never had any troubles. It's a fun place. Walking from your car can be a pain. Unlike lancaster, all the parking around the stadium is pay to park

What can I say. This place is awesome. Great place to take the family or for a date. Tons to see and do. Lots of food options. Plus, the view of the baseball field is phenomenal. I'm looking forward to next season.

Watched a great York Revolution game and enjoyed the perfect weather for evening baseball. Lots of activities between innings to keep you entertained. Food was a bit pricey, but tasty.

Great place for family fun!. Very friendly and accommodating staff.. The place is kept immaculate..Many great food and beverage options... You won't be disappointed

Mark H — Google review

Our team had a great experience here holding a company event at the BudLight Bullpen Balcony! The team had a blast. Kenton did an awesome job helping us pick the right spot at the park for the event, and our bartender and servers were so kind. Highly recommend!

Kate M — Google review

At best there's about 150 parking spaces at this park for the 7500 seats available. You have to go find a parking space in the barrio surrounding this park. My wife & I absolutely LOVE baseball and we used to have season tickets at Angels Stadium in Anaheim when we lived in SoCal, but there's no way that we're going to attend games at WellSpan Park and be required to walk through the ghetto at night to try and find our car.

Dale B — Google review

One of my favorite pastimes is coming to check out a revolutions game! There's not a bad seat in the house although if I'm going to recommend to you you want to be in rows 18 19 20 to stay out of the Sun if you're on the first base side you will be in direct sunlight it's also great to catch a game that has fireworks afterwards you can't miss out

JON A — Google review

Nice ballyard. Reasonably priced family entertainment and a good product on the field.

Sam N — Google review

Every day is a great day for a ball game, but especially a York Revolution game! This is my favorite part of summer. Bathrooms are always clean, the staff is great, and prices are a lot more reasonable than other sports events. Downtown is the best mascot in the universe too, in case you didn’t know. Go Revs!!

Robin Z — Google review

Nice ballpark. The food was good and there was a nice variety of items. Love the funnel cake. The only reason I gave 4 stars was the parking... if you don't have a handicap plate or placard you must park in a lot a good distance away and you have to pay $6! They do have a shuttle bus that runs between the lot and the ballpark but that is annoying at the end of the game to wait for a ride to the lot.

Stephen K — Google review

Line's for concessions are ridiculous. But the park and atmosphere are great.

Grady W — Google review

Memorial day date. What's more American then baseball game? Plus the Revs pulled out a win in the 9th. My wife loved going her first time.

Vanessa W — Google review

Great setup b to watch a ballgame at a small park. Game was exciting, concessions were good and the seats were perfect. Also, easy parking for a family with a child in a wheelchair. Highly recommended!

LancasterHistory is a must-see for history buffs, with exhibits on local history, the home of President James Buchanan and Wheatland. The museum has an arboretum and research center, as well as a Museum Store.

The Lancaster History Museum and President James Buchanan's Wheatland are the same venue. We didn't peruse the museum collection, but watched the movie and toured the mansion. The excellent movie explains Buchanan's political life, going deep into Buchanan's motives and actions that failed to keep the nation together. The house and its furnishings are almost entirely original to Buchanan's time there and the tour guide gives an excellent summary of Buchanan's personal life.

Thomas M — Google review

Visited the Lancaster History Museum in April 2022. Was looking forward to a seeing a museum that documented the experiences and lives of the people who settled in Lancaster and made this their home. Hoped to see photos and artifacts documenting the neighborhoods, places where people worked, played, community organizations, churches etc. Who settled in Lancaster since it first became a town? What it was like to live in Lancaster? Instead there was one room and it chose to focus on 3 "events".. 1) event of the killing of native Americans in the 1760s 2) the civil war period and slavery in the 1860's and 3) the civil unrest in the 1960's.Once more what should have been a museum that told the whole story of Lancaster and all its peoples instead "rewrote history" by its single empahasis of politically charged events. This isn't the first time I have seen this in a museum lately. Once more "Critical Race Theory" being shoved down peoples throats. VERY disappointed. Don't waste your time. And I certainly hope the curators of this museum have a change of heart and start to tell the rest of the history of Lancaster.

Paula A — Google review

We didn't go inside because it closes early. Outside it has a small arboretum with all trees names... Good to see once, but not really speaking since you'll be next to high traffic streets. It would be much better to have it within suburban area.

What a nice day at the Lancaster Museum. Excellent perspective on the last 300 years of history. I learned about the past presidents and some of the people who I’ve heard of, but did not know how they contributed. I’m looking forward to coming back while the library is open.

Visited Wheatland, the Lancaster home of President James Buchanan. The home is as it was for President Buchanan. Any work that was done was completed per time period.

I am a Lancaster native and this was my first time visiting. I took the Yuletide at Wheatland Tour and it was amazing. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and our tour guide was so great!! There is so much information here. I love it and I plan to visit again.

Dwayne R — Google review

Very well done museum with awesome staff (Jerry was amazing on the Wheatland house tour). I love that most things are artifacts and not reproductions. I live that you move around the house without too many barriers and can gaze directly at things. While Buchanan is often looked at as a failed president, he was leading through a very divisive time and did so with a dignity and decorum that is too often missing today.

Andy H — Google review

Went here 1pm on Saturday 9/21/24. Young lady at the desk explained everything very well to myself and my fiance so we decided to do a self tour and pay the admission. As she is setting up the admission into the computer she asks me if I am over 65 for a discount, I had to ask her what she said in absolute shock, so she says it louder and my fiance hears it and was so angry because I am absolutely no where near 65 and most can't believe I am 55! I almost walked out but decided to not let it bother me, young people today have zero manners and where not taught today to be respectful, so I let it go. Wish I had told her how rude that was. She should have some retraining on how to make a statement about discounts over 65 but not actually have to ask someone if they are.

Jill V — Google review

I didn't tour the museum because of my tight schedule, but its lobby and surroundings are beautiful. Parking was easy. I will tour the museum on my next visit.

Synwon Y — Google review

Excellent example of small museum with historical artifacts that have relevancy today. The concise collection is diverse culturally and in content. It is the the perfect compliment to a tour of Wheatland, home of the 15th President of the United States. The images were taken in the museum

I believe that I visited on 10/4, as I’m visiting from Goose Creek, SC. I’ve have a membership for at least 20 years now, if not more when it was a very small building. I was greeted rather coldly as I approached the counter and introduced myself and handed my membership card. I was told to put on the blue tag that attaches to clothing and that I couldn’t bring my brief case inside that I had to lock it up along with my coat and hat. (I can understand theft but how can I use my genealogy research that I brought with me if it’s not aloud the the research area! I was also told that I needed an appointment to research…heck, I’m a paying member coming in from South Carolina! She said the next appointments would be at 1pm…really! I followed the rules and o did go back to the research area and spoke with the lady behind the desk. I explained who I was where I’m coming from and would like to research. It was around 12:45pm and I had to fill out paperwork. She was very friendly compared to the first encounter I had. I also wanted to donate a newer updated version of my family history and I had to fill out paperwork and hen I donated our families genealogy since I the that is already on file is old and outdated. There was only 3 people in the research room and now it’s 1pm. I got to go in. I was so taken back that I felt humiliated and only stayed for about 45 minutes. My membership card states (valid 12/13/2021 to 4/8/2023. Many Years ago this place was so nice to come to. I retired from the military in 1999, and I use to visit more prior to 1999. Since I live now in South Carolina, i don’t come up to Lancaster that much anymore. I’m real hesitant to rejoin once this membership expires. (See my membership card minus my number that I covered up). Maybe someone will reach out to me about this review. I didn’t feel welcomed whatsoever.

Landis Valley Museum is a museum dedicated to the history and culture of Pennsylvania's rural German community. The museum has a collection of artifacts from 1740 to 1940, as well as living exhibits that depict life in this unique culture. Landis Valley also offers educational programs that explore the history and material culture of the Pennsylvania German community.

I had a lovely tour yesterday. The village has an interesting history and the docents are quite well-versed on all of the aspects of village life. The stories can get to be a bit long-winded, but I'm sure glad I learned about them. There is a bit of walking involved and some areas are sealed off but overall it was a great experience. With the tour, count on about 1.5 - 2 hours.

Michael M — Google review

This place was amazing! We took the guided tour and our guide was so very informative! It was a small group so she tailored it to her audience. She made it special. Also the detail of the museum was impressive. We spent a few hours in the morning but could have been there much longer. We only scratched the surface on what it had to offer. Highly recommended!

Interesting recreation and compilation of original and re-located historic homes and buildings. Very similar to Ohio Village in Columbus. Between the buildings and the artifacts, you could spend an hour or a day here. We did the whole thing in just about an hour but were the only ones there (literally) and there were no interpreters or activities available. Worth a visit if you like history.

David C — Google review

Great visit. Guided tour took about an hour. Shelba was an amazing tour guide! I really enjoyed our visit. It took almost 2 hours with tour during the winter with no events going on.

Everyone goes to lunch from noon to 1 if there is anybody at a building. We finished our intro video at about a quarter of 12. For us- It was a self-guided tour. While I liked it- I wish I had gone at a better time when it was more interactive. I would probably go back again 😊

I enjoyed my visit to the Landis Valley Village and Museum. I went on a guided tour with Nancy. She was very knowledgeable about the various buildings that we visited including the Tavern and linen production building. The Landis home and Country store were also interesting. I also enjoyed the videos that were available on some of the buildings.

We wanted to explore one of PA historical sites. The farm museum has a large parkingarea. If you belong to Lancaster County Library they have free passes to use. You walk the museum area between 1-2 hours. They were suppose to have volunteers talkabout the places but we didn’t see any. Youcan rent out some of the buildings for special events. They have special events in May, October, and Christmas. They have Cell Phone Tours. They have field trip buses, and tour buses that stop there. The farm museum is devoted to history and culture ofthe German community. It’s open from 9-4pm. Sunday 12-4 pm closed Monday andTuesday. It’s a 100 acre farm that talks aboutfarming, cooking, technology, about the Pennsylvania German families. Take alongYour food & water. They have picnic tables. The place needs TLC throughout the museum. They have a film in the visitor center we felt it was worthwhile to see. The Hands-On-House Children’s Museum is on the other side of parking lot to visit.

Nature & Parks

Lititz Springs Park is a beautiful, well-maintained park located in Lititz, Pennsylvania. It has two playgrounds and a large water fountain, as well as open grass areas, picnic tables, and a beautiful stream that runs through the park. The park is popular for its regular concerts and its close proximity to Lancaster.

One of our favorite places. Ducks and ducklings At this time of the year. The 80 year old steel train caboose is open to visit! Picnic tables, multiple playgrounds, plenty of parking. Nice walking paths & easy access to downtown Lititz. Great place to spend the day with a real diverse crowd of ppl. There were ppl waking with pythons, many Amish and Mennonite patrons, even a horse and buggy in the parking lot. Lititz is the best and Lititz springs park is unbeatable!

Jessica W — Google review

Such a lovely park. There were ducks with duck feed vending machines. There was a well manicured lawn area with a small creek running through the park. An adorable children’s play area is further down the path with a few pavilions for picnics or parties.

Jesse H — Google review

Has a wonderful park for ages 1 to 5 but they are currently renovating the 5 to 12 portion of the park.Lots of opportunities along the stream to feed the ducks.Great photo or picnic spots available. They also host farmers market in the summer. And its right on Lititz main street which allows you access to food within walking distance.

Kayla H — Google review

This was a beautiful park. There are grills near the boy scout pavilion, many other pavilions besides, plenty of swings and slides, lots of space for kids to run around, trees providing shade everywhere, a free parking lot, a lovely man-made creek and lake, tons of ducks to feed in the water, and really anything else that might come to mind when you think of a perfect park!

B H — Google review

Fun park. They are starting to clean up older equipment. Great signage for feeding the ducks. Good bathrooms and pretty scenery. Difficult turning into and out of the parking lots from certain directions.

Jeffrey E — Google review

What a lovely park. Lots of trees and grass and setup for midsize to large events as well. There is a little snack shack that makes burgers, sandwiches eta. I was there on farmers market day and there was about 20 vendors and a 3 piece folk band that was super good. The springs are really pleasant. It’s a gem of a park.

John G — Google review

Beautiful park with a stream up and down, full of ducks. One of only places I've seen left that offer the quarter for duck food and I loved it. From the photos my son loved it too 💙

Great park for a morning walk. Feed the ducks and enjoy some shade in the summer. Clean and safe area. Check out the Lititz Caboose. Lots of historical information signs.

This park is absolutely beautiful! I recently conducted a prom photoshoot here, and every aspect of it was perfect. #untetheredvisuals

Great place for a walk. Some of the businesses have free duck food so make sure you keep an eye out for it while you shop! The locals are so lucky to be able to enjoy this year round. I also loved the support of the Boy Scout Troop and how many great projects they added to the park.

Josh H — Google review

Absolutely beautiful park. It's a natural spring, ducks all over the place. CLEAN. Not a lot of parking they have a playground, and they also have special swings for children with disabilities. They also have a snack bar hours vary.

Elena * — Google review

Great place to just hang out. Went with two of my friends. We had a great time just walking around. We went to the swings, the park has a very friendly atmosphere also. The snack stand is open during the summer only though. (I'm pretty sure)

For 3 decades, we've traveled from VA to PA to visit family and attend the fireworks display at the park. Today, it was the Fire and Ice festival. I adore this historic town and recommend it as a "go to" if you are ever in this part of PA.

Loryn D — Google review

Beautiful little park with an easy walking path, lots of shady benches and a nice water feature from the springs. This place also has a nice shady playground with a wooden train playset.

M B — Google review

We visited here for the 4th of July. It was a great time. Admission was only $13.00 online. They had a bunch of free activities from life-sized jenga to free cotton candy. The fireworks show was phenomenal - drones, lasers, fireballs. Will definitely be back!

Nick B — Google review

A small park, perfect for families! There are ducks and stations where you can buy food for them.

Mina D — Google review

This park is amazing!! There is all sorts of things to do. You can rent pavilions for a party or feed the tens of ducks. I've been going to the park and feeding the ducks bread since before the ducky bread ban. It is dog friendly and people friendly. They have amazing events and amazing parks. Just recently they took down an old park and will (hopefully) put up a new one. But they are always on track with replacing and adding stuff to make the park flourish. I love this park and would totally recommend to anyone and everyone. 💗💗

Lanah O — Google review

I love the underground spring. It's such a fascination of nature. And the local community is wonderfully full of quaint shops! Be sure to stop in here on your travels and enjoy an afternoon of walking around and taking it all in.

Lititz Springs Park is an exceptional gem nestled in the heart of a phenomenal town. The scenery here is truly remarkable, offering a picturesque backdrop that instantly calms the mind and soothes the soul. It's a fantastic place for relaxation, where you can pass the time watching and feeding the ducks, a simple yet profoundly peaceful activity. The people in and around the park contribute to its welcoming atmosphere, making every visit a delight. Whether you're a local or a traveler seeking a serene escape, Lititz Springs Park stands out as a must-visit destination. Its natural beauty, coupled with the great vibes of its surroundings, ensures an unforgettable experience for all. Highly recommend!

This is such a quaint park & a staple in Lititz. If your passing through or a local it's a great spot for a picnic, they have machines to feed the ducks, so bring your quarters, & it's a really nice place to take pictures. They also have a nice playground & plenty of parking. Top-tier for 4th if July fireworks.

The Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway, operated by the Reading & Northern Railroad, is a popular attraction in Jim Thorpe. The train departs from the historic Central Railroad of New Jersey station and offers various excursions, with daily sightseeing tours being the most popular. Passengers can enjoy breathtaking views of the Lehigh Gorge, dense forests, shimmering river, and dramatic cliffs as they travel through the Pocono Mountains.

My little family loves to go on scenic trains everywhere we go. I was very pleased with the ride. We even got to see a little waterfall. We all had a blast! We sat in the open car, which was nice. We got a great breeze and were able to get up and move around while the train was in motion. I was able to bring drinks and snacks onto the train, which was great. The employees were very knowledgeable and very nice. I would definitely go again in the fall this time.

Bought our tickets online ahead of time to ensure our spot when we’d be in Jim Thorpe. We took the 3pm time and chose to ride in the Dome car to ensure we could take it all in. The seating is first come first serve, so don’t arrive 5 minutes before departure, unless you’re not choosy about where you sit. It was a comfortable ride and we found the tour guide’s information sharing informative and interesting. Lots of history here! There are clean restrooms downstairs if you need it. I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t as small as one you’d find in an airplane. I definitely recommend taking this railway ride at least once in your life. Thoroughly enjoyed and the conductor was so friendly & interactive with the passengers.

I finally had the chance to visit the Lehigh Valley Scenic Railway over Labor Day Weekend, and it was a delightful experience. Although we were a bit early for the fall colors, I’d definitely recommend timing your visit to catch the peak foliage if possible.A few tips for future visitors:- Parking: The lots can fill up quickly, especially with visitors from the previous trip still parked. Be prepared for a bit of a walk if you arrive during peak times. A strategic option might be to arrive just as the previous trip’s passengers are leaving, though this could mean less time to snag a good seat on the train. It’s a balance worth considering.- Seating: If the weather is pleasant and you enjoy a more open-air experience, I highly recommend opting for the open-air car. The enclosed cars can get a bit stuffy, even with air conditioning, as others have noted.Overall, it was a fantastic outing, and I’d happily return, especially when the fall colors are in full swing.

Chirag D — Google review

We had an amazing time on the scenic railway. You can pay for tickets online or pay at the kiosk in person. You have options of which cart you’d like to ride in. I opted for the open carts tour.It was nice seeing all the green trees and the rolling tides. We visited during summer but I hear it’s absolutely breathtaking during the fall season. We saw people on their rafts cruising downstream and families biking on the trails. The overhead voice on the speaker system gave some very interesting information about the area and the sites we saw throughout the tour.I was mistaken thinking that the track travels in a loop, like a circle around the mountains. I was a little saddened to know that the train goes toward then back the same way. Same track, just forward then backwards.I had a great time regardless.

Coral M — Google review

Our family really enjoyed the open air train ride. The scenery was beautiful and it was the perfect day to ride. It was a bit crowded but you could move freely around the car so it was still very enjoyable. Highly recommend this train ride and little town for a fun, family day.

J. D — Google review

Went on a Friday 1 pm ride the second week of October. Leaves were not quite to their peak. Fairly busy and parking is limited. They could get more cars in their lot by making two rows in the middle and parallel parking along the sides. Lots of wasted space. The train was fun, the people were nice and the scenery was gorgeous. It was a little bit hard to hear the commentary in the open air car because people were being loud. Views are best from the river side of the train. The town of Jim Thorpe is worth exploring also.

Virginia V — Google review

A great family train trip. Because of the landscape on one side, doubtless better to be in an open train car than a closed one where one side is very open, but the opposite side has a lot of mountain stone visible. Plenty of parking, but come early and pay for the parking pass at a kiosk. Be sure to enter your license plate number because it is scanned on the way out as proof of payment. Lots of nice food vendors nearby. A wonderful experience, especially for children who have never, or very rarely, been on a train.

Allen J — Google review

Beautiful ride. My family and I rode in an open air car on a beautiful day. My only wish is that the narrator would have talked a bit less so we could just enjoy the ride. He did have some interesting things to say, though, and overall it was very enjoyable.

Melora B — Google review

I live in the Poconos but never took the train ride until now. It was wonderful, and everyone from the ticket booth employee to the ticket takers were friendly. Bonus - it's also very affordable compared to other train rides and pet friendly. I recommend a weekday for the best experience. The town runs an autumn festival every weekend, and parking will be gone by mid-morning.

Take a relaxing and scenic journey through the Lehigh Gorge State Park on the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania. This historic train ride offers stunning views of the Lehigh River, mountains, and woodlands. Passengers can choose between open-air cars for unobstructed vistas or enclosed cars for a comfortable ride. Knowledgeable conductors provide narration throughout the trip, highlighting the region's history and natural beauty. The Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway is a great choice for families, train enthusiasts, and anyone seeking a unique outdoor experience. While the ride itself is relatively short, lasting around 70 minutes, it's a delightful way to spend an afternoon. Be sure to factor in travel time to Jim Thorpe from your location in New York.

Rishabh R — Google review

Saw the train pull up as we passed Jim Thorpe and we decided to take the train ride. Trains are very cool and in excellent condition. We boarded 30 minutes prior to scheduled departure. Cars are comfortable and fill up fast! Dogs are allowed as I discovered by two dogs barking at each other across the cars.Train ride is at a nice pace where you have enough time to take in your surroundings. Honestly there is a lot of trees followed by trees behind those trees that are in front of more trees, did I mention there are many trees?Heading forward and facing forward you will notice a 165 mile path that follows the train and wave to the people biking or hiking. The river has people rafting and kayaking. Other than that the scenery is pretty much the same but I think it was worth it.I wish the train had a nicer route like heading up a mountain but I don’t regret taking this tour.Watch out for trees😃

Geo M — Google review

It is a nice place to take a day trip to and spend time walking around the town. A 45-minute ride on the train was nice. The narrator was a live person. I thought it was a recording - pretty cool. At their early because the place was packed. I bet there was 500 cars in the parking lot.

Kevin P — Google review

With so many other things on the Internet, this town of Jim Thorpe is nothing to write home about.Nothing spectacular about the scenic railway tour either. This is simply a train ride that loops around a 30 minute course with Lehigh river on one side and the mountains on the other. We did not see any spectacular views, and this was nothing more than a train crossing a couple of bridges over a river, and led us to the middle of nowhere and back. I personally would not recommend this scenic railway trip. Tickets are easy to purchase on the Internet and can be redeemed at the station.Be prepared to pay additional for parking.………I read the response from the scenic railway folks ….. LOLIt appears it struck a nerve with the folks running the show there. I did not mean any disrespect to the town or the railway company itself. But rest assured - there are far better ways to spend your $20 per ticket! When I’m looking at reviews, I look at the lowest reviews first and there are PLENTY OF 1 STAR REVIEWS HERE!!!!!!!!Look at the attached videos and decide for yourself before you get on the train. The videos are representative of pretty much the entire train ride back-and-forth.

Visited Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway today, hoping to catch the peak fall foliage. We arrived around 9 AM on Saturday, October 19th, and the parking lot, which charges $15 per day, was already filling up, but we managed to find a spot. There was no line at the ticket counter when we got there, and we easily booked our 11 AM standard class tickets for $22 per person. They also offer open-air class (no windows) for $24, and crown class for $24, but crown was sold out until noon. The round-trip ride took about 45 minutes. While the ticketing process and finding our window seat were great experiences, the route and views from the train didn’t quite live up to the hype. Pro tip: Try to sit on the right side of the coach in the direction the train goes—you’ll get better views than on the left side.By late morning, the ticket counter queue had grown significantly, so I highly recommend arriving early to secure parking and avoid long lines. There are plenty of food options available just outside the station, so you can grab a bite during the ride or after the ride. The town itself is very touristy, and walking around was a highlight of the visit. I’d love to return to explore the town more, but the train ride felt like a one-time experience for me.

Madhu S — Google review

This was a fun little ride. They have facts play over the intercom. I was hoping to see more of the gorge and landmarks but it's mostly just forest with a short view of the river and a small fall. Great for kids or those who want to experience the ride for the train itself. We did the open air car which was nice sitting sideways and getting to enjoy the river.

Missy S — Google review

Train tickets sold at counter only during fall season. Ticket counter opens at 7 AM, best time for ride is 10 AM over weekend, queue forms at 9.30 AM, boarding starts at 9.45 AM, train leaves exactly at 10 AM. Best seat is river side. 20 minutes upward and 20 minutes return journey. Try to board open air car next to the engine. Parking will be easy till 9 AM over weekend in fall season. 15$ per car for a weekend. Till 9 AM it’s not that crowded, but it is a parking nightmare after 9 AM. Restrooms are available but it’s clean only early in the morning.

Shanmugavel S — Google review

What a great experience! The train is very dog friendly, I even got my own special ticket! Wonderful views and interesting smells on the ride. I was able to sit right on the floor and even hopped up on the benchWe were in the open air car and recommend sitting on the river side for the best views. @jasperthedog2022

We were visiting Jim Thorpe, and this was on our list of things to do while there. We bought our tickets online and picked up the physical tickets at the booth. It was a weekday, so parking was easier compared to weekends. Give yourself extra time if you're visiting on a weekend. We booked seats in the dome car and got to sit comfortably in a climate-controlled environment. It was a nice day, so the open car would have been fine as well.We really enjoyed our guide (I wish I could remember her name). She was very informative and friendly, and we had a great conversation about the history of Jim Thorpe and the railway. We took lots of great pictures and had a wonderful time. We will definitely do this again when we return.

AK — Google review

Don't miss this terrific train ride to experience the beautiful Lehigh Valley scenery and a glimpse of life in the past...if it's not too hot out, I highly recommend the OPEN AIR train cars, where you can stand and enjoy the ride leaning on the side rails, or relax in the outward-facing bench seats. Pro tip: Arrive an hour before your train departure to give time to park, buy your tickets, and take in the Jim Thorpe vibe. Before or after, be sure to stroll down historic Broadway to experience a real manifestation of the beauty of old time 'Main Street' America. Jim Thorpe is worth more than one trip, and we will definitely be back!

Bob D — Google review

I was so excited to take this train ride from Jim Thorpe into scenic Lehigh George State Park. The ride is 70 minutes long with the exception of October. It’s their busiest time so the train ride is 45 minutes long instead of 70 minutes long but covers the same distance to accommodate all the people. The views change with the seasons.I chose their first class lounge accommodations for the ride. We were the first car in the lineup. I got the last train that ran that day at 4:30pm. These trains fill up quickly. We were on a beautiful diesel train dating back to around 1917 with very comfortable seating large padded armed chairs on either side of the car and air conditioning. There is also two booths to sit in for a party of 4 if you bring your own food on the train and want a table. All seating is on a first come, first served basis. We received a complementary nonalcoholic drink, and a bag of chips for the ride. There was a lovely bar area on my train that served hot fresh coffee and nonalcoholic drinks and snacks.Snacks and beverages are also available prior to boarding in the town as well as outside the Jim Thorpe Train Station. The prices are based on accommodations. The train schedule is as follows: The train runs,11am, 1pm, 3pm, and 4pm weekdays. The train runs 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm, and 5pm on the weekends. In October even more with shorter durations.I was here the end of September and they added an additional train ride at 4:30 pm. Our ride was 70 minutes long. SEATING OPTIONS ARE STANDARD COACH, CROWN CLASS COACH, OR OPEN-AIR. PRICING IS THE SAME AS ANY OTHER TIME OF YEAR. VISTA CLASS DOME AND FIRST CLASS LOUNGE.The conductors were great, very friendly and knowledgeable. We had two and they gave us a thorough history of the train and the surrounding areas. We were given advanced notice to look for certain sights along the way which made it fun. This is a great way to take a break and take in the beautiful scenery, especially in the fall months. At the train station there was a dressed up bear shaking hands and taking pictures with everyone. Kids love this!We purchased our tickets directly at the train station, but you can also purchase your tickets online too. If you purchase your tickets online, you will need to check in at the ticket booth with your email confirmation to receive your tickets.Make sure you arrive at least one hour prior because parking is very limited. We had a wonderful time on Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railroad

The Asa Packer Mansion Museum is a grand Italianate mansion located in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania. Built in 1861, this historic landmark offers tours of its original Victorian decor and architecture. The mansion was once the home of Asa Packer, a prominent figure who founded Lehigh University and was a railroad magnate and philanthropist. With its central cupola and red-ribbed tin roof, the mansion spans three stories with eighteen rooms across approximately eleven thousand square feet.

Was there yesterday and the mansion is a lot of fun. We had a wonderful tour guide named Kathy. She was very informative and down to earth. We weren’t allowed to take pictures which I was not a fan of at first but that made me pay attention more to the tour. Hoping to go back in the future and see the 3rd floor that was closed.

Charlie R — Google review

Built in 1861, this Victorian Italianate architecture-style home was constructed over a span of two years at a total cost of $14,000 dollars. The Asa Packer Mansion listed as a National Historic Landmark was the home of philanthropist, railroad magnate, and founder of Lehigh University, Asa Packer, from Oct. 16, 1861, to Oct. 29, 1912.Located in Jim Thorpe, this building is recognized by a red-ribbed tin roof and a central cupola proudly atop Packer Hill with the commanding stunning views of the surrounding Pocono Mountains, where my partner, his aunt and I came for a tour today. Tickets were easily available and reasonably priced for the 1pm tour, which covered the entirety of the first and second floors. Our tour guide was a young lady (she mentioned she is a senior in high school) who obviously loves her job and is personally interested in the history of the mansion and family. From the furniture, woodwork, and stained glass to the artwork, she spoke about the history or significance. The mansion is not a restoration where pictures and video are prohibited inside. An amazing walk back in time, for which we can recommend this place.

Beautiful tour! You will have a tour guide that tells you all about the decor and Packer family that resided there. No pictures allowed inside the mansion.

Nicole O — Google review

This experience will transport you to another era of inconceivably beautiful, intricate, & meticulously crafted grandeur! The woodwork is outstanding, the chandeliers flawless, wall paper infused with gold, stained glass windows, & machines that were state-of-the-art back in the 1800's! Our guide was an effective, professional, knowledgeable, & enthusiastic host that was dressed to the T! The house also had all the amenities that maybe we take for granted nowadays such as: A/C, doorbells, lighting, & running water. THIS MUSEUM IS AN A+ MUSEUM THAT YOU WILL NOT REGRET, SO DO NOT HESITATE A TRIP TO JIM THORPE TO SEE THE ASA PACKER MANSION MUSEUM!

We visited on a Wednesday afternoon. We arrived at 2:40 and were told the next tour was at 3:20. We bought tickets and wandered around outside, looking at the grounds and the Harry Packer mansion next door. Our tour wound up selling out, so definitely buy the tickets immediately when you arrive. Guided tours only. You cannot tour the mansion on your own. The mansion tour is very interesting. Our guide was very informative and knowledgeable, and very personable. The tour covers the entirety of the first and second floors. The 3rd floor was not visible, because they were getting ready to start work on the roof to repair water damage. The entire mansion is intact with it's original furnishings exactly as it was when it's last inhabitant, Asa Packer's daughter Mary, died. Basically untouched since 1912. No pictures or videos allowed. There is no parking at the site. Either park in the paid municipal lot downtown or find paid street parking. The mansion is on a hill and there are a great many steps up to get to it, or continue up the paved street and access it that way. Either way, if you are limited in mobility, this would be hard. There are also steps on the tour. We really enjoyed the tour, and the mansion is a beautiful example of Victorian era architecture. We were familiar with Asa Packer, due to my husband being a Lehigh University graduate. But we learned so much about him and his family, and his impact on this town, during the tour. Beautiful views from the balcony. I highly recommend visiting the mansion. The price is very reasonable.

Lisa L — Google review

A must-see in Jim Thorpe. The mansion itself is mostly original from the early 1900s owners. Our tour guide, Chloe, was knowledgeable and entertaining! The 45 minute tour is well worth the $13 adult ticket.

I loved my visit to this building and the town in general. Beautiful architecture and views throughout the town, and a few interesting points within a small walking distance. I would have loved to have done a few of the many available hikes but I ran out of time- next visit hopefully!

Fred was a great tour guide. He knew a lot about the property and answered all our questions. The tour wasn't too long or too short. I would recommend it for history buffs or not.

Erin K — Google review

A must see for history or architecture buffs! The tour runs every 30 minutes—we waited about 25 minutes only because we just missed the prior tour. Our “group” had about 12 people and the tour guide referred to us as a large group. Tour guide, Alex, was very knowledgeable and had lots of interesting facts about both the home and the Packer family. He answered many questions from the group. The house just can’t be described with words. No pictures permitted inside. The woodworking, wall coverings, drapes, kitchen, bathrooms—all amazing for that time period and remarkable that they are still untouched. 18 fireplaces!!!!! Highly recommend. Most tip the tour guide and the end of the tour. Tickets: Adult $12, Senior 55+ $10 I would not take children as you are asked to it touch the walls or items in the home (completely understandable) which would be difficult for children. 3rd floor is closed due to water damage from roof.

Debbie C — Google review

My husband and I took a tour of Asa Packer Mansion on my birthday. We loved every second of it! Our Tour Guide, Eric Bloom, was absolutely phenomenal! Very knowledgeable and professional. Whatever he is making, he deserves a raise! We will definitely be back to visit again! Everything in the mansion is in remarkable condition. It is an amazing time capsule that I hope will be enjoyed for generations to come.

One can feel that it was built and is being maintained with love. Looking forward to another visit soon!

Highly recommend stopping in to see this mansion. Stunning views from the porch and the building itself is amazingly beautiful. So many intricate little things to take in on the tour, our tour guide was funny and sweet. We will definitely be coming back in the near future for another tour. This building and its history is so interesting to learn about. Not to mention it is stunning to look at in person.

Amazing to see how the rich lived in the late 1800's. Original furniture, wallpaper, carpets, drapes, furnishings..... No pictures allowed inside. Our tour guide, Hannah, was super-knowledgeable!

Given the influence and contributions of Asa Packer on U.S. transportation development (Canals and Railroads), Anthracite Mining and Education (establishment of Lehigh University) in the 19th Century, visiting the Mansion is a must-do event in Jim Thorpe. Tour is thoughtfully designed and intellectually stimulating for all visitors, and the glimpse of Victorian era living is fascinating and instructional. A visit is strongly recommended.

Eric is an amazing tour guide!!! We came this weekend for a tour and we were all blown away about how knowledgeable he was about the mansion. Every question we had for him he had an educated and well explained answer. We even asked him general questions about history of the town and he kept us well informed. This man knows his history and knows Jim Thorpe! I want to add, he was dressed for the part as well! The clothing from this time period really made you feel like you were taking a step back in time! What a dapper gentleman and great asset to the mansion! If you can request him as your tour guide I’d HIGHLY recommend it!Thanks again, Eric!

Outdoor Activities

Blue Mountain Resort, situated between the Niagara Escarpment and Georgian Bay, boasts a stunning landscape all year round. The winter season offers 42 trails across 364 acres of skiable terrain for skiing and snowboarding both day and night. Additionally, visitors can enjoy family-friendly activities and visit the indoor/outdoor Scandinave spa for relaxation. In the summertime, guests can partake in golfing, sunbathing, swimming, biking or hiking.

Had a great time here last February! They've got a bunch of different and fun hills to go down it's hard to get bored with all their options! Bathrooms were super clean and so was there cafeteria. We didn't go to the main Lodge so it made finding the right way to a ski lift a little tricky but we got the hang of it. can't wait to get back at it this winter hope to see you there!

Jack D — Google review

I took the scenic lift ride. I've never been on a ski lift so I enjoyed the ride & the view. If you're afraid of heights, don't worry. It's not scary! If you've never been on a lift before, the staff will guide you & tell you how to get on. The cost of riding up then down once: $18.

The Blue Mountain Aerial park is so much fun! A group of 4 of us got the 2 hour tickets and we had enough time to complete the ropes course, zip-lining and free fall jump. The instructors were very friendly and checked your gear regularly. There’s also a resturant that offers great views after you finish up at the park (get the soft pretzel app!).

It's one of the best skiing resorts in ontario, close to toronto. There are lots of places to eat at. The village is pretty and has lots of options for activities. In winter, you can try axe throwing. It's beautiful in all seasons, but I specifically loved it in summer ( not a fan of snow!)

My love letter to Blue Mountain,I'm writing this one get some things off my chest in a good way regarding Blue Mountain. Reading negative reviews of this mountain makes me laugh. I grew up and learned how to ski and snowboard at Blue Mountain when it was still Little Gap and they did not allow snowboarding at the time, dating myself I know.I have been snowboarding for 34 years, skied from the age of 2 until 10. Do the math. Been on snow my entire life. The Poconos will deliver a ski experience that is challenging for the Novice, above average or expert skiers and snowboarders. The age old saying if you can ski here you can ski anywhere in world is very true. East Coast conditions are not kind and the Poconos are no exception. I will say if you are willing to put in the work Blue Mountain can carve you into an extremely capable skier or snowboarder and prepare you for any conditions around the globe. The mountain has 1000 feet of vertical drop, Blue Mountain is the highest top to bottom in PA and within a good chuck of the greater east coast resorts so let that sink in. Sidewinder, Challenge, Razors Edge will push your limits as far as you are willing to push yourself, get to know your edges and find out if you are as good as you think you are. Ice, groomed corduroy, slush, loose granular, and even yes, powder at times.Challenging terrain park, easy going beginner trails and, lodge with food and beverage. If you are pigeon and blast this place for service or perceived short comings, just remember this is not Deer Valley or the Ritz Carlton. Come enjoy the slopes, be thankful for the employees who show up and enjoy yourselves.Having been in the greater Salt Lake City area for more than 10 years riding the best snow on earth, I don't forget where I came from and the place that helped develop my skills. That was Blue Mountain! Wax your gear, sharpen your edges and let'r rip. Don't forget your helmet. Ice is hard :)Shout to Joe Warner, longtime Ski Patroller at Little Gap/Blue Mountain who helped me develop my love for skiing/snowboarding. Blue if you read this look up Joe he was one of a kind.-Jimmy

a wonderful ski resort that caters to family groups, they have trails for all skill levels. as of Dec 20th and Dec 21st 2022, the conditions were ok before the snowstorm but there were some trails that had icy parts. many trails for variety (although some trails were closed when we went) staff were very attentive and friendly here. the resort would benefit from having more lights though because it was a little hard to see during night skiing.

Blue Mountain is one of the best in PA. I’ve been skiing here for 13 years and it’s continued to be a great place to come every year. The terrain is some of the state’s best, and fortunately most of it is opened by mid January because of their amazing snowmaking systems. They also have high speed lift service to every corner of the mountain so on most days crowds are manageable. The food is good, but sometimes pricey, although Slopeside is always good. Try to avoid days of fresh snow, ESPECIALLY on the weekends because it can become a zoo. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in PA!

Fun family resort. There are plenty of options for all level of skiers. We had a decent winter with some actual snow, so the conditions were decent. The bunny slope area is nice and big and a great spot for little ones to learn. It is a bit expensive but you can find deals and the 4 hour passes are pretty good. Looking forward to next winter praying for snow!

Visited Blue Mountain’s Summit Lodge this summer, and it was fantastic! The views were breathtaking, with vibrant flowers adding a special touch. The food was delicious, and the staff were incredibly friendly. Highly recommend for a great summer day out!

Olha B — Google review

Don't even bother to try to go tubing here. Paid over 200$ for 4 people for a 2 hour session and only went down twice. My kids were so excited to try snow tubing and all we did was wait in line. They massively oversell the time slots. We thought the wait was over when it took almost a half an hour to get to the conveyor. Only to find a massive line at the top. Overall a very disappointing experience. I will say the employees were very friendly. This is obviously a management problem. They just sell more tickets than they can handle. I would love to try snow tubing again. I'll just be doing it somewhere else for sure.

Zachary R — Google review

Good place for learning how to ski/ snowboard. Can be very busy though. My husband took a snowboarding lesson and it was very crowded - just something to be aware of and keep in mind while planning. It was super crowded on tubing - I was only able to ride 4 times during my 2 hours time slot.Food is really bad and expensive🥲 I mean you can at least add a slice of tomato to a spicy chicken sandwich that costs $15 🤪

Alena B — Google review

Was a great tubing experience. Besides we paid 300 for 5 people to go down the hill 3 times. The lines are so long and the lift conveyor is so slow. Thank God it wasn't raining. We were soaked cuz the snow was all melted and dirty. And we had on water proof clothes. 4 bucks for a 4oz hot chocolate. 4 bucks for a soda. Way overpriced

Stephanie C — Google review

Honestly pretty upset with what this mountain is turning into. I praised them on staying true to themselves and not turning over to epic or ikon, but the prices for a season pass are getting to be outrageous. 800$ for one mountain in Pennsylvania is pretty nutty when their competition is only a little more and offers a whole range of mountains. They are undoubtedly the best mountain in the area, but I’m sure I’m speaking for a lot of people that ski on a budget. And the fact they really don’t seem to care much for active duty/veterans is pretty pathetic. The weather conditions in the northeast haven’t even been that great lately so we’re lucky to get a couple months use out of the pricey pass.

Brian F — Google review

First ski in the season. It wasn’t the best due to an apparent lack of snow (I blame global warming🥲). Only less than half of the trails and lifts were operating and some of the trails were quite icy. The wait is about 5-10 minutes to get on the lift for each ride. Considering it’s the Christmas holiday season, it wasn’t bad. Hopefully we will get more snow in January or February.

Zhiming L — Google review

One of the best event spaces for views during all seasons, but particularly during the summer and fall. Prices were extremely reasonable given the size of the room and amenities included. Elevator available for elderly and wheelchair bound major plus to reach the upper levels which provide stunning views from the event space above the restaurant.

Nickolas T — Google review

I went here my first few times snowboarding. I had a lesson that I was initially satisfied with but after getting a little more experience I think the lesson was not so great...the only thing the teacher showed me was how to strap in one foot and glide...she spent the most of the lesson hanging out with other employees. I also rented a snowboard and boots...the boots were pretty disgusting and the second time I went the boots must have had holes in them as my feet were drenched at the end of the day...the place itself is pretty nice. If youre just looking for a mountain for skiing or snowboarding this spot is exactly that...id give zero stars for the lesson and boots and 4 stars for the mountain.

Staying at Blue Mountain Resort was amazing! The place is gorgeous, and there's so much to do. But what really stood out was the guest service – it was beyond excellent. Everyone was super friendly and helpful, making sure we had the best time. They really went out of their way to make our stay special. Can't wait to go back!

Always a good time! Was here the day after opening day, and the snow crew did an incredible job getting trails open! The lifts are well organized. Love the quick food option at the bottom Lodge, is a bit pricey though

I went to Blue Mountain for the first time yesterday; first time there and first time EVER skiing. I was signed up for a group lesson and arrived early. Mind you I’m a highly anxious person so I was already on edge, but things started going south when my locker wasn’t working and I realized I had to go back to the shop because I forgot my gloves. Full blown crying at that point Judy (a literal angel on earth) calmed me down at the shop and shared her experience with her first few times skiing which made me feel better.By then though I was running late and still needed rentals. A young woman (I forgot to grab her name) working there came to get me for my lesson, saw I was distraught, and also helped talk me down and got me rentals straight away and over to David for my lesson.IF IT IS YOUR FIRST TIME GO SEE DAVID! He is tough but fair and even spent extra time with me which was so above and beyond what he needed to do. By the end of our lesson I was turning like a pro (in my eyes) and stopping a bit better. And I didn’t fall once. He helped me get the confidence to try the lift, which I did alone for the first time, and I am so glad I did!Rich at the top of the magic carpet on the bunny hill was also the sweetest and kept my spirits up every run I did.All in all this was an amazing experience and I can confidently say I’m totally hooked on skiing now. I’m going back Sunday with friends and I’m itching for the slopes! Thank you to everyone at Blue Mountain!!!!

Great experience. Not a skier or snowboarding. Snow tubing was a great alternative to enjoy the now. Two separate hills with the same size. We went to the second one because it was less crowded.

The resort features casual rooms, a water park, golf course, movie theater, bowling alley, pool, tennis court, and basketball area. Guests can enjoy spacious and clean accommodations with the option of well-appointed suites. The staff is known for being extremely accommodating and friendly.

We had such a great trip with our family here. Everyone was so nice. We felt like we had the place to our selves. Service in the Mexican restaurant was very slow but we were ok with our cocktails & good conversation. I enjoyed it here more than great wolf which is over crowded. The food was great! They have all sorts of activities for kids too. Definitely coming back.

Check-in staff was nice. The maintenance guy was nice. NOTHING WAS OPEN. No food, no activities except the arcade, bowling, and the movie theater. There is no staff in any location except the town center. Tried 3 times to find the actual split rock, just a do not enter sign at the end of the road. Our room didn't match the images shown in the listing. The room was severely lacking any of the amenities shown. There were filthy towels under the bathroom sink, a crushed potato chip on the bedroom floor, and the bed was God awful. The room was dark and old. The TV didn't work upon arrival but the maintenance guy was very nice and pleasant. Woman at check out was very short with us, didn't ask about our stay or anything she just seemed to want us gone so she could continue about her business. They also don't tell you that they provide nothing in the room except 2 sets of towels and a roll of toilet paper. There are pots, pans, and dishes, but nothing to clean them with. (I mention this because the place we checked into after this one provided those things). I mean seriously nothing was open. If you plan on going, go on a weekend. We went Monday to Wednesday and there was nothing. The only thing open was their "food court"... and it was severely lacking and overpriced for what it was. Fortunately, if you make the same mistake as us, there is a grocery store and a wawa about 10 minutes down the road.

I checked in on Friday night & was given the wrong room number, so I disturbed someone who was sleeping. No big deal; mistakes happen. Saturday, before heading to the track, I discovered a bed bug crawling in my bed. I went to the front desk & tried not to make a scene. They sent a security guard to my room, who confirmed it was a bed bug. I was instructed to put ALL my clothes in a bag so they could wash them & that they would move us to a new room.My colleague & I returned at roughly 8 p.m. after working all day. I am now told that they will not be moving us to a new room & nobody did my laundry. They send me to a building a mile away to do my laundry.I put my clothes in the wash & go eat dinner. When I returned, I couldn't tell what condo building they sent me to. I walk into one of the six identical buildings & can tell something is off immediately. It looks like a slum – filled with full trash bags everywhere + toys & debris in the hallways.A man – not wearing a resort uniform & a baggy coat – approaches & claims he works there. Unsure if he's concealing a weapon, we leave as soon as we realize we're in the wrong building & that people are living there full-time.After looking for my clothes in five other better-kept but still rundown buildings, my gut was telling me to leave. So I did. I drove an hour to stay at my in-laws, as my colleague does the same to stay at his parents.Today, I tried calling just to get my security deposit back, but they forwarded me to a dead end & now won't answer my calls.

Went here for a girls trip and I had a nice weekend getaway here. The room was very nice and clean. We had a king VIP room with the jetted tub and it seemed newly renovated. The bed looked new and was very comfy. The kitchen had everything you need (silverware, plates, cups, etc). We were a bit worried with all the negative reviews on here but we had no issues. The pool area was nice, we enjoyed the hot tub. I'd say it is an older building but not horrible for the price of the rooms. We ordered take out and didn't really use any of the activities. Just came to relax. We would return

We were here for a gymnastics meet and decided to stay the night and enjoy the water park. My kids had so much fun! My daughter even tried the wave surfer. Special shoutout to Annalise and Brett for their patience helping my daughter learn to use the wave surfer. They were so kind and took their time to help her figure it out.

Joanna W — Google review

I wasted a day of my life traveling to this place, checking in and then promptly checking out 30 minutes later and driving back home.As you pull in you'll notice the lack of landscaping, as the property was just unkempt. As you walk through the entrance you'll notice drop ceiling with water damage and black mold. As you enter the lobby, you'll think you traveled back in time. The setting felt like I would be hanging out with Sammy Davis Jr. and the rest of the rat pack that night. The only rats I most likely would have encountered would be the ones feasting on the scraps at the uncleaned, dirty food court. The room itself smelled of mildew, had paint and wallpaper peeling off the walls, a hole in the bathroom door, and the ceiling light cover had holes in it with what appeared to be dead bugs hovering on it. The shower was falling apart and the living room furniture I don't think has been replaced since the 60s.Our trip reminded me of Clark Griswold pulling up to Wally World. Although the Griswold family vacation was better because Split Rock resort was actually opened. I don't think it will be long until the doors are closed for good though. The only splitting that should be done with this resort is splitting quickly to another vacation destination.

Ben C — Google review

This place is gross. Please look at the photos. Walls have paint peeling. Shower was clogged from the peeling paint. The carpet was so dirty and stained. The water park is also gross. 3 out of the 4 slides were closed. We went at 6:30 and it closed at 8pm and it was $35 per person. They told us the water park was included and then I got there and they said it isn’t. This is by far the worst place I’ve ever stayed.

Bryant V — Google review

Great place for a getaway! This pet-friendly resort offers a variety of amenities like an arcade, sport court, and pools, water park, bowling etc though they don’t advertise their pet policy online. The entire resort is welcoming to pets, allowing you to take your fur baby everywhere. The staff is friendly and helpful. However, I did wish for better food options nearby. The rooms were generally good, but we experienced issues with toilet flushing and brown water in the shower for a few days. Despite these setbacks, it’s a great spot for a short getaway and worth the money.P.S. There is a $200 pet fee, and you need to call the hotel to book pet-friendly rooms.

Trish S — Google review

I don't know why there are so many bad reviews, The resort was clean, front desk was friendly and helpful, the manager offered to show us around. A maid stopped what she was doing to show us how to get to the game room. Indoor pool area was clean. Plenty of activities. We had a very good experience.

Don C — Google review

When I walked in I was super disappointed but I grew to like it once I started exploring the place. It gave me haunted house vibes but in a good way. This place has potential just needs proper investors. Heat didn’t work for a couple hours and water ran cold but they fixed it asap. 4/5 stars! LOVED IT.

Ahmed A — Google review

I don’t really like to leave reviews because my opinion of a hotel may be different from others but this place was on my top 5 list of places to NOT stay unless it’s an emergency and you desperately need a place to go. My family and I were originally supposed to go to Myrtle beach this year but due to the hurricane we couldn’t. We had to cancel at the last minute and come up with something else in 24 hours. My husband found this resort. It was cheap and had fun stuff to do… so why not right? When we got there we found out the water park was not included in our stay which is one thing. But then the microwave and the ac in our room was not working. We told the front desk this multiple times and to this day no one has come to replace it or give us a new room. I had to use fans that we brought to keep us cool and heat our food in the oven. On top of that we ran out of toilet tissue and reported this as well but still no one came. I found that to be so disappointing. I had to ask one of the room service ladies to spare us a tissue while they were cleaning another room. If they fix up their rooms and offer better customer service, this place would be in the top 10 places to visit along with kalahari. But they do not care. I even mentioned it again when checking out that no one came to look at our microwave and ac and the front desk lady did not seem bothered at all. If you can, avoid this place at all cost.

Rochelle W — Google review

Do not stay here!!!! This place has been nothing short of a nightmare for me and my family!! The customer service is horrible. We had ants in our room, and we woke up without water and wasn’t told anything about it. I had to jump through hoops in order to get hot water to clean my daughters bottles!! We went without water for 5 hours and when it came back on it was brown!! Kimberly said it would’ve been fine if we just microwaved our water… cause that’s what you want to do while on vacation.. what happened to pleasing your guests and expressing such regret for having such a horrible stay!! There was no manager on site that would speak to me, and the front desk receptionist made it clear the mangers do not answer their phone when they are not at work. The manager (Kimberly) being the main one who was on site refused to speak with me face to face kept deflecting our concerns!!! I am still pursing this place for a full compensation and they are fighting it, I know hard to believe!! We checked out a whole night early, but Kimberly insists on charging us for two nights because we left a day early and because it was at 2pm that automatically counts for a whole 24 hours due to having no one to clean the room ( doesn’t make sense) also, the water park was shut down for the two days we were there, again without warning to anyone!! The whole reason we made the trip! Please do yourself a favor and do not stay here no matter the deal you get! This place gets a zero star from our family!!!Update it’s been two weeks and this resort has yet to return my calls, and come to a resolution! We checked out a whole day early and they are refusing to reimburse me!!! Will be contacting them again!!! Do not stay here!!! It’s so gross. You’ll leave feeling dirty !

Lindsey B — Google review

**Don’t be fooled by all the fake 5 star reviews that have recently been posted!!**I am posting this on behalf of my sister as she has not heard from the hotel regarding her recent visit.See review below and trying to raise awareness about how deplorable this “resort” is. File complaints with the Better Business Bureau!!!*DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!!! YOU’VE BEEN WARNED!*EDIT: 9/29 - made a BBB complaint to receive full refund for our horrible experience and on two separate occasions the resort has ignored their attempts to reach them. I reached out to the email below twice with no response as well. Please DO NOT waste your money and read past the fake 5 star reviews. I will continually update this review until I am compensated. We stayed in a two bedroom “suite” at the town center which in reality is just two hotel rooms made into one. The smaller room has a window looking out into the hallway…Pictures and website are EXTREMELY DECEIVING!!! Stayed here for a family reunion and everything was either out of service or “booked for a private event”. The pool was cloudy to the point you couldn’t see below your waist. No restaurants on site only the sand bar by the lake and food court with subpar food. These pictures aren’t half of the gross things about our room. Splatters on the walls, broken fixtures, bathtub peeling, dirty “new” towels, windows that don’t close, cracked vanities, dirty walls, mold underneath the sink, weird smell in the room, broken hair dryer….. AND infested with fruit flies. We probably saw at least 5 a day despite killing them!! The list goes on and on.This is the furthest thing from a resort more like a motel with minimal amenities. In regular resorts you see cleaning people almost every corner you turn. I think out of the week we stayed here I saw a cleaning cart once.Sad to see such a nice place with so much potential be incredibly run down. Never again!

Andrea S — Google review

Stood there with my family for the week. Stayed from Friday to Friday. Check in was easy and front desk was knowledgeable. We asked for rooms close together since we stayed through Sundance vacations, unfortunately we weren't able to get that accommodation because the weekend we chose they had reservations for the high-school senior trips. Because we are time share owners our kitchen should have been stocked with basic necessities unfortunately it was not but upon calling front desk and them reporting to their manager Miklos that was fixed very fast. MIKLOS came to us and helped everything get sorted out in lighting speed, throughout the week, when he saw us in the lobby he was always friendly and checking in with us making sure we were happy. Another employee I want to shout out is Griffin. Another amazing front desk employee that really stood out who was consistently helpful and knowledgeabl. Anytime we went up to him he was happy to help with a great attitude. The staff at the arcade and bowling alley were very great as well. Unfortunately I do have to mention that when we went to the water park my wife did come down with a really bad infection from the water which cut our vacation short and had to rush her to the ER. Despite the park being closed during the week the water was not disinfected and chlorinated enough to kill the bacteria making her receive a really bad UTI where she was being peeing blood.Besides the water park I would say the hotel being tended by MIKLOS is in great hands. He truly made the experience memorable.

I am so disappointed with this place. The rooms are rundown but supposed to be newly renovated. The design is not family-friendly with glass tables with sharp edges. Some rooms have potable AC that do not work to cool of children's room. They kids have only a ceiling fan. The rooms are not cleaned well. Showers have rust, bathroom fixtures falling off, or cracked. My husband and I changed rooms three times, and I cut my foot on a stray piece of glass in the living room. There used to be a dining area with a chef for meals, and now they give us microwave food for breakfast. The dining area is now a store. There is no restaurant until the weekend when the water park opens.

“We’ve visited Split Rock Resort in Lake Harmony eight times with our family, and every visit has been fabulous! Despite some negative reviews out there, we’ve always found this place to be a great value and a fantastic getaway for families. Our children have had amazing experiences with the variety of activities, and the memories we’ve made here are priceless. I encourage everyone to visit, experience it for themselves, and ignore the negativity from others. This place is truly a gem for making unforgettable memories!”

I'm sure this was a beautiful place sometime. That time is not now. Beautiful location surrounding the hotel. My "Slopeside" room building was near a place where the hotel just dumped unwanted items. There is too much to list. I'll focus on some lowlights in my room. Ceiling fan covered with dust. Shower door bottom that had an amazing amount of black mold.

Every staff members we spoke to were very helpful and truly a pleasure. Seems like they love their job. The resort its self needs a lot of upgrading. Wish they had an all inclusive option. Need more food variety.

It iş tough to explain.First of all once you enter the Split Rock Resort you are in the little town and not the resort. There were either o or not enough signs to guide us to the resort office/reception.Finally when I got to the reception it was chaos too many people and not enough staff to help.I received very badly printed very old mapNow my struggle started to find my suit after spending about half hour in the town I got back to have info to get to my room.Actually it is not a resort nestled with all the premises.About six triple story buildings about half mile away from the main building and the main building has all the restaurants and little store plus a busy swimming pool and some rooms upstairs.Water park is separate building next to main building.I was in building 5The good thing is that the suite I got was clean well furnished and luxurious. This place is far spending a week with family and friends and come with lots of groceries because they have full kitchen, dining table and lounge. Not good for day or two stay as hotel

Wasim F — Google review

DO NOT BOOK THEY ARE HORRIBLE. I am a homeowner in the community and they are threatening to shut off all of our water if we do not pay their water bill. They are abusing their power and do not care for anyone in the community. As homeowners we have paid our bills every month yet we are getting punished for their actions. The only reason they have over a 3 star rating is because of the years of service under previous ownership. Look at any recent reviews and look up the law suits against them. I used to go here as a child and that is why I bought a home in the community. It used to be a fun and amazing spot until it was bought out by a corporation who has no care for anything other then the money in their pockets. They screwed over all time share owners did meaningless “renovations”, and falsely advertise. I came here a couple years ago with my family before I knew how down hill it had gone. We did not have enough space in our home and wanted to use amenities so we booked to stay at the resort. They advertised ice skating but it was slippery pieces of white plastic with a flimsy gate and we were told to take off our shoes and scoot around. That is just one example of the ample things they do to try and make it look like they are a great vacation spot when in reality Everything was run down and a mess and it just keeps getting worse.

Water park

Water & Amusement Parks

Camelbeach Mountain Outdoor Waterpark is a vast amusement park with accommodation, an indoor waterpark, outdoor pools and various rides and slides. Despite some negative experiences with the express pass riders causing delays, the park offers reasonably priced entry tickets. Families and friends can enjoy several attractions such as the Beach pool, Tacos food truck serving cocktails and beers, while listening to bossa nova music. However, parking may incur additional expenses for visitors.

It was our first time here on Saturday. I read a lot of the negative reviews and thought we were going to have a bad time. There were some plus things and some negative things. We paid for general parking which was 12.00. Waited only a few minutes for a shuttle to take us to the entrance of the water park. The lines were short so we got in VERY quick. They did a “pat down” of our bag. Some reviews of people were upset with them not thoroughly going through their bag. Me, I didn’t mind as I knew I didn’t have anything I wasn’t supposed to and it made us get in even quicker. We found a chair immediately by the kids section/ lazy river. One of the things I was hoping to find was an open chair to at least put our stuff on. We spent a few minutes at the children’s section with my grandchildren and they seemed to love that. Then off to the lazy river. Some reviews said there was a long wait for the lazy river. We waited less than 10 minutes. That was very nice. Then it was off to the wave pool. That was also very nice and Everyone in the pool seemed to have a blast! Next my son went on the spin cycle side and loved it. There was a little longer wait for that but still only waited about 20 minutes. I LOVED that there were bunches throughout the park to sit on while waiting for your children to get off the rides or to just rest. The park was VERY CLEAN. I could not tell you how the food was as we read reviews about how expensive it was to eat there. We ate a late breakfast before we got there and opted to grab an early dinner when we left. We did buy a bottle of soda, a water and a small bag of chips and that was 12.00.There were a few slides not running. It didn’t bother us too much as my son wouldn’t have time to ride them all and yes food is pricy. We enjoyed our first time there and we will be back next year !

Must visit so much fun. Unlimited water rides lazy river good for all ages. Cafe inside has great food options and drinks. Amazon food store inside for quick food check out. Coffee available. Lockers available. Good restaurants. Buy tickets online better price. Keep changing clothes and mobile cover

Awesome place for Families who need a quick get away. We loved the room and the view from the balcony! The zipping down the zipline was awesome and so were the surrounding restaurants! The indoor water park was fun for everyone!

Soooo much fun! A perfect getaway for the family to enjoy a hot summer day. So many things to enjoy throughout the park. There are attractions for all ages. From the chill Lazy River to the most intense water slides you can handle. And everything in between to suit thrill seekers of all levels. Highly recommendgetting the Express Lane pass if you can. This makes the day and the line waiting so much more enjoyable. Well worth it on a busy day. The rides are well maintained and were all operational at the time we attended. The park is very clean and well kept throughout the day. Plenty of seating and areas to chill if thrill rides aren’t your thing. The wave pool is a little underwhelming but still fun for the family to enjoy together without concerns of loosing anyone. The only complaint I’d have is the food pricing. While you’d expect to pay slightly higher prices when visiting a park, they really GOUGE you!! There’s no outside food options close by that you could run out and grab a bite and they know it. Some single meals reach $30 per person. A simple cheeseburger and fries meal is $18. Otherwise the overall experience is definitely a good one. Check it out , just come prepared to pay. 5 star rating but the food situation brings it down to a 4.

Machine with tickets that you order online was not working properly, went to guest services and they tried to charge me 119$ for a lift ticket that online cost 79$... Biggest rip off ever. All snow is fake and tons of ice coverage, conditions were not great but solid amount of runs during the day. Like the new covered lift and access to all lift services by scanning the card. Parking used to be free, now it's 12$ for general and 25$ for "preffered". Hot dog and Fries 18$, bring your wallet, you will need it...

Truly a gem. Plenty space for everyone, indoor and outdoor restaurant, good music, extremely clean, many activities for all ages and different styles. I have 3 kids children 9, 6 and 2 years and all of them had a blast. Life vest in each pool and so much more. My baby went crazy with the dinosaurs all over the place and my nice was super happy with mermaid interaction by the lazy pool. The view is extraordinary and overall a great spot.

I'm not disappointed. The cost was reasonable. I went on July 5th and purchased the fun 4 pack (a bit of a discount) for the outdoors waterpark. The park was kept clean, and there was something for everyone to do. I think that weekdays are the best. I'm assuming that it gets crowded in the weekends. We were able to find a spot under a large umbrella relatively quickly.

My family and I like camel beach for the most part but the prices keep going up considerably so much so that I do t think we will be able to afford this again the food is extremely expensive especially if you have more then 1 child to feed and you can’t take food in long ago they use to let you bring a cooler in if you paid a small fee but not anymore parking is a additional fee of either 12$, 35$ or 40$ so if you pack a lunch to eat in your car you either gotta go far to get it or pay the expensive parking to be closer. Lockers are 30$ for a small !!! You do get 10 back when you return the key but that’s still a lot especially when you just paid so much to park and get in. A bottle of soda was 5$ and a basket of simple chicken fingers was 16$. I understand that they need to make money to keep this place up and running but the price of everything on top of what the ticket prices were is to much it’s simply not gonna be a place that average working class families are gonna be able to afford to do anymore if it continues to cost so much to go unfortunately they should at least let ppl bring food because it’s extremely expensive to feed 3 children when i already paid almost 200$ to come for the day so with the price of food your looking at a 400/500$ day and that doesn’t include sovereigns or anything like that

Kristen T — Google review

I went there on Saturday (July 22)The ticket was $59.99 adult, and I paid $12 for parking a little bit further to the park, but they have a little bus passing all the time they can take you to the parking to the park wich was great(parking nearby is $50)🙈The food is delicious 😋 and not so expensive.People are friends, and the place is very clean. We really enjoyed 😉

Sandra L — Google review

Great slides, park felt clean with the exception of the changing rooms which really need attention, slide attendants were so amazing (Christopher was a standout for my family!), waited around 45 minutes for Titan slide (busy Saturday) but all other slides we went on even with a crowded park had virtually no wait. Rita's was a great treat! Parking (other than the general lot with shuttle that was $12) was $45 or $50 which is $$$ plus locker fees ($25). Overall we had a great day and will definitely return!

Camelback Waterpark is an absolute blast for families and thrill-seekers alike! The park offers a fantastic variety of attractions, from heart-pounding water slides to relaxing lazy rivers. The wave pool is a hit with kids and adults, providing endless fun and excitement. The park is well-maintained and clean, with plenty of seating and shaded areas for when you need a break from the sun. The staff are friendly and attentive, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors. Food options are plentiful and tasty, catering to different tastes and preferences. Whether you're looking for an adrenaline rush or a leisurely day by the water, Camelback Waterpark has something for everyone. Highly recommended for a fun-filled day of water adventures!

Van S — Google review

I really enjoyed the park overall my only issue is the staff & the unreasonable prices for the food & the taste was disgusting. The problem with the staff is they’re very impatient & look unenthusiastic. They gave me and my friends attitude for asking for a cup of cheese and charged us 8$ for it. My friend also had a difficult with the payment methods they provided. Basically you go into the store by paying a dollar in advance through apple pay or a card. Then you grab whatever you want to eat and it’s scans whatever you took on the way out charging you through your apple pay. The problem is they overcharged her & didn’t even refund her back. All they offered was waters for compensation. Another problem we had was with the groupon tickets. If you come with groupon tickets prepare to be sent to customer service before your visit because apparently it has to go through to camelbeach first by doing a process but it never mentioned that so we had to repurchase the tickets and spend more money than we initially did. To add on, EVERYTHINGGG is really expensive sobe prepared. Overall, the park itself was super fun and enjoyable just didn’t have a good experience with the staff and payment forms.

My husband and I have wanted to try camelbeach waterpark for the 4th of July many years. Finally this year we were able to make the trip!We drove 4.5 hours to check this place out. Here’s why I give it a 3 :On Thursday july 4th we got into camelback resort parking lot. Very confusing if you have no idea parking isn’t free nor 45-50.00.They do not tell you when you come in that you’re in the expensive parking and that cheap parking is THRU the expensive lot. Luckily I asked where the 12.00 parking was because they tried charging me 45.00. (If you want cheap tell them I want general parking for 12.00.)We got our spot & walked up a huge hill to get to the line. Luckily we had our tickets purchased online because that line to get tickets at the gate was INSANE! They had no self service machines working so guest services was a 2 mile long wait. It was crazy. The actual line to get into the waterpark once you had your tickets took us about 20 minutes. As we got in I headed for my reserved (BUY ONLINE) VIP chairs (45.00 for 2) the line was super long & they sold out of all of them! as my husband headed for the express passes. (35.00 each)We then went to our chairs & it was a nice little spot on the deck overlooking the wave pool! They have waitresses up there that bring you your food too!So we did the “adventure trio with free waterpark” ticket online. We asked how do we get to the outdoor activities which included summer tubing, 1000’ zip line, & mountain coaster. Very good deal for it all! It was just a 5 min walk thru the parking lot to get to the base camp.We started at the zip line, it was very fun but very short. but they did not do a good job on photos. The guy only got us with our backs turned. Great pics……. as a photographer they need to get different angles. Luckily we did not buy them ahead of time. Then we did the mountain coaster (INCREDIBLY PAINFUL) I’d skip it honestly lol. It’s not something we would do again. If you pushed those bars down you were flying around everywhere getting beat up!!!Then summer tubing. That was a fun time! Got a whole hour (we only went down 4 times) & got to go backwards, you spin a lot! It’s fun it really is. The tubes are just incredibly HOT.So we walked back up the hill to the waterpark, got changed then went to go on slides. We had express passes & this place does not abide by their express passes whatsoever! Don’t waste 35.00 on it because they make you wait with the regular line or just as long! we have never been to a park that tells express people “we let 4 groups of the regular line go, & then 1 express pass group go” THAT ISNT EXPRESS!!!That’s us waiting every 4 groups. It makes our line just as long as regular!ITS SUPPOSED TO BE 1 GROUP REGULAR LINE 1 GROUP EXPRESS LINE. Simple easy.Everyone was mad in the express because we wasted money when they don’t know how to work it!We did the vortex slide and express pass was on that slide but as we walked up they only stated it ON THE FLOOR which side was express, so everyone in the regular line was standing in the express not caring about people needing to get pass them. They were very rude people attending this park..express pass line NEEDS to be marked & sectioned off better so no one in the regular line can block it or access it. This park is very unorganized when it comes to lines and the express pass. VERY unorganized. If you do buy it just push through the rude people standing in express from the regular line & show them your express pass, let em be mad! They are in your way. This park needs to understand express pass better!!Now SAFETY. We rode the spin cycle slide, the lifeguard was sending people one after the other without making sure they made it out of the bowl. People were flying out of the tunnel into the bowl into other guests!!! When my husband & I did it we were scared someone was gonna come out & smack right into us! That’s not OK. You gotta wait for people to get out of the bowl before sending down. The cafe inside, you use a credit card to get in which is neat! But, Fun waterpark with flaws.

This is a beautiful place for everyone. Its children friendly and most of rides are enjoyable however many of the rides on this visit was out of commission , we were still able to enjoy our time. If half the park going to be out of commission customers should have a break in prices. I guess they have to keep the same price in order to maintain the property and high standards, understandable.

Erica B — Google review

First time visiting and came on 4th of July, different types of rides and the lines were super long which is expected for a holiday. But charging $50 parking at the Waterpark then $30 dollars again for guest staying at the resort is ridiculous. Not many options for food either, there are better water parks in the area then this one.

Cielo C — Google review

We are season Pass Holders! We love it here!! So much fun! This season the photographers were as active as last season. I feel like we been chasing them for photos as before they would ask us but now they just stand there. Other than that we love it here!

Live L — Google review

Never again! They sold me a ticket at 5 pm and inside the water park, the Blue Nile Adventure River lifeguard said that they were already closed! Are you seriously?!I bought 3 tickets! The park closes at 7 pm! Why then did you sell me tickets? Everything is unrealistic and disproportionately expensive! Parking $50. Locker $30. You buy tickets and again pay for the attractions inside the park! To get on the cable car you have to sign some stupid paper! Lifeguards are angry, nervous and tired. The only normal people in this park are the grandmothers who stand at the entrance and the security guys. I was angry at everyone, but the security guys were very calm, polite and sorry about my bad experience in this park.

KHAMIDOV F — Google review

Good ski resort with lots of slopes. We were there after Christmas. It was very crowded. Temperature reached near 40 so conditions icy. They had a number of lifts out so long lines. They have food, but very expensive. It looked like a great tubing set up. Slopes we lit at night.

John R — Google review

Waterpark itself is amazing , rides great and pools. We had a blast , my kid enjoy , we went Wednesday and was nice no too much people, weather great also. I don’t think we have to pay for parking $12 and took shuttle and also food its overprice. We have to pay for pictures and lockers $30 too high. We did mountain activities also we spent $$$$$$

Isis — Google review

I had a chance to visit this place again and it was a blast! First with family, this time with a friend. While on the pricey side, the amenities are good. They include gym, arcade, and waterpark. There is no complementary anything. I brought my own continental breakfast items, and dinner was good. I chose a balcony this time, with a great scenic view (and around the property overall). If you can catch a sale, do it. The reason there aren't 5 stars is due to pricing.

(Note: I write these reviews in part for my own business clients, for ideas as they travel. I’m a financial planner with a focus on retirement wealth strategies, primarily serving business women and LGBTQ individuals.)These outlets are currently under construction, which seems needed as some buildings look pretty old. That said, it’s a good size because there are two levels of stores. Most of the typical name brands are here.I’m not sure just how many “bargains” you’ll find since it’s all premium items, but at least it’s not at an offense full price. I can’t really say if this is a family friendly place in terms of being easily accessible for kids in strollers or for elders. There are stairs. The escalators were closed down for repair on one side. I didn’t see an awful lot of handicap parking. It’s a bit hard to maneuver around the parking lot because it gets so packed.Overall, if you have something in mind to buy, you will likely find it here. It was easy to find off the highway! I’m glad I stopped.

Karen C — Google review

This premium outlet is not setup for easy shopping access. It’s more of a strip mall and hard to get to all your favorite stores. We literally had to drive around from one store to another. They do have a nice selection of premium stores and it’s within minutes from Great Wolf Lodge. Overall if you are in the Poconos area this is a nice shopping destination.

Loved it. A lot of stores. Just have your walking shoes on lol 😆

Can always find great deals here. I’m from Toronto and usually stop by here when I drive back and forth from NYC. Parking can be hard to find sometimes but well worth spending a few hours here.Useful tip if you’re from Toronto and are passing by towards the NYC area; leave in the morning around 5-6am from Toronto so you can arrive to this mall by opening time. You can shop without a crowd, get your shopping complete, and get moving. Also make sure to sign up with their facebook pages for additional coupons.

Kevin — Google review

Good place. There are different stores with products from recognized brands, such as Columbia, Adddas, Nike, Puma, guess, polo, Levis. among others. There are several alternatives for food establishments, there are bathrooms and parking. it is possible that it will return.

There are good deals here in some of the stores, especially if you are looking for brands. The place itself is very convenient. It should be noted that the toilet was clean, contrary to some of the reviews here. I assume that they have improved

Loved this outlet ! Not too big and has a nice selection of shops. Its parking is very convenient so you can drive if you want to different zones just to get closer to your preferred stores.

From a Canadian tourist travelling to the US, more specifically NYC, we decided to stop here for some shopping… and we did not regret it! Although this outlet is not huge, I was still able to purchase things at a STEAL, because some stores had lots of 50-70% off discounts. Was able to purchase 10+ shirts for less than $70 for no tax at Levi’s. I don’t know how there’s no tax but that was crazy! The area was lively, not too crowded, and there’s more than enough stores for you to get what you need. I was surprised that there was a section in the outlet where you could ascend a floor and shop from above. What I dislike though is the food court. Sure, you’re going there to buy things, but my experience would’ve been better if we’ve had a bigger food court. My other concern is the lack of the more famous store chains, where you can find anywhere else in almost every outlet mall. Although, these are minor concerns, and the outlet isn’t too big, I was pleased with my experience!

Expertz — Google review

PPO is one of Simon Property Group’s three outlet locations in Pennsylvania. We came here on a gloomy, rainy, dark Wednesday afternoon right after Christmas. Still, somehow it was totally packed and people in front of us couldn’t really seem to walk any slower. The vibes are cute, though. They had this giant red wooden beach chair near the center, with a Christmas tree, and some big ornaments on the ground. The actual selection is impressive. As of June 2023, it has 93 stores including Aerie, Bath & Body Works, Claire’s, Crocs, Five Below (and Beyond for budget shoppers), Hot Topic, Nautica, Nike, Under Armor, Polo, Spencer’s, Northface, UGG, and more.Simon is known for their luxury selection of department stores, but they do what they can (which doesn’t seem to be much) to diversify with lower-price stores. The food selection here is pretty poor. We had dinner at a nearby Friendly’s - one of the last standing in Pennsylvania.

Love the Crossings. Have been shopping here for nearly 30 years and have also worked in a few stores here. Something for everyone - your experience will depend on why you’re going and when.If you want a relaxing, quiet shopping experience weekday mornings are excellent. If you’re hunting sales pick any old Hallmark holiday and get there early because these stores sell their best stuff quickly. If the employees don’t set it aside someone who’s there the second something special gets put on the floor will.Sucks that a bunch of people have to keep robbing the stores here. You can tell things have changed over the last 30 years. Demographics. I have never felt unsafe here though and it’s a great day out.

Hi, one of your staff harassed me. We got here to charge our car. The restroom door was open, the lights were on. My father went in to use it. While I was waiting for him outside, this guy comes and screams at me that it is closed. I calmly told him that we didn't know and that I am waiting for my father. He proceeds to take a photo of me without authorization. I ask him why and he just harassed me verbally. He has no right to take my photo. You have horrible staff and he harassed me because he didn't do his job. This is a gross invasion of my privacy and I will be filing an official complaint.

A very nice place to go shopping around the area. Lots of stores and some places to eat. The shopping has a lot of variety (toy stores, jewelry, kitchen, clothes, etc). Open later as well so nice variety in hours and availability.

Let's see.... what DON'T I like about Pocono Premium Outlets? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!! I am from The Catskills, so I am used to The Woodbury Commons and LOVED IT!!! Until I moved to PA! I am about 10 minutes from The Outlets (thank GOODNESS😅!) and the grounds have everything! From fast food to food chain outfits, footwear, clothes for all occasions and ages/sizes, jewelry, as well as bookstores that sell new AND used books! There are people I speak to who feel The Outlets isn't big enough or have enough wares and services to offer. But as for me? I don't like looking OR feeling lost. Can't wait to grab a few more things for summer. Happy shopping, everyone✌🏾🩷!

Casino

Fun & Games

The Mount Airy Casino Resort is an upscale establishment that boasts an 18-hole golf course, a pool that can be used both indoors and outdoors, as well as five different dining experiences. The casino itself has over 1,800 slot machines and table games such as baccarat, craps, blackjack, poker and roulette. Additionally the resort features a live entertainment venue where famous musicians and comedians perform throughout the year.

What a wonderful place to get away! Fresh clean rooms and linen. Great food! The drinks were not strong enough but my husband and I seemed to get pretty tipsy😁 The casino was fun and upbeat, Frank the bartender was very very nice, Stephen the bartender was good at chatting with guest and serving at the same time he knew how to multi task well. The pool room was so much fun! Our server Abby was so sweet and made sure every guest was comfortable and was there to serve us with whatever any of us needed, she kept clean towels out and made sure the pool area was always clean. Valet was very very kind to us and had very good welcoming skills. We are definitely going back!

Nice hotel. Rooms are a little dated for my liking. Plenty of slots and tables games. Dealers are great. Several restaurants to choose from. I like Guy Fieri’s the best. One gripe is smoking is allowed so if you’re not a fan of second hand this might cause issues.

Danny H — Google review

Decent place for a weekend getaway. Pool is beautiful but definitely not the 84 degrees the lady at the front desk said the temperature of the water would be. Restaurants were pretty decent. But also a few in the area If you’d rather eat outside. Appreciated the free valet parking. Could use a bit more modern entertainment. Overall 6/10

Diedrè — Google review

Beautiful rooms (watch for special rates!), terrific room service (breakfast was especially nice), pool and spa were pleasant but crowded. The casino was clean, a bit smoky, many restaurants but not a lot of places to people watch without sitting at a machine. One large bar (bartenders were disappointingly slow) and free drinks on the floor were practically non-existent. Slots were nice and a bit loose so we won more than we played in 48 hours. Would def come back, stay a few days and enjoy the grounds.

Sharon M — Google review

So disappointed. I got to the casino & the entire floor smelled so strong of cigarettes. There is only one casino floor so there’s no way to properly separate the smoking areas from the non smoking area. The non smoking area had the oldest machines, only a few newer machines which forces you into the smoking area. The whole place smells awful. I had to leave because it was giving me a headache. I can’t believe this is even allowed. People should have to step outside to smoke if they need to. Second hand smoking is worse than smoking itself. My clothes & hair reek of cigarettes after leaving. Never coming back.Oh & their ginger ale tastes like toilet water.

We were going to go to the Poconos for our Honeymoon. It didn't work out. 33 years later, my wife booked this place as part of our East Coast Anniversary Trip. I was not disappointed. This place was top notch clean and tidy. We aren't gamblers, but we did have a couples massage. Everyone made our stay very enjoyable. We ate several times at Guy Fieri's and had great food and conversation. Shout out to Trinity who gave us great advice on outdoor sightseeing and waterfalls. Her "lookalike sister" (not really sister) also gave us advice.

Chuck G — Google review

Went for the day to play in the casino. It was very nice. Extremely clean with great table minimums. Ten and fifteen for roulette and craps. We ate at Guy Fieri's, which was great. There is a very good selection of new slots and enough of the older kind too. The staff throughout was very friendly and easy to get, if you needed them. We will definitely go back and try the hotel on the next trip. I met my son and sister to play craps and roulette..My wife especially likes the video roulette with the live dealer..Planning another group trip in October.

Stayed at the Resort recently August 2024. I don't golf or gamble so perhaps this wasn't the place for me. I came to relax at the pool and enjoy the natural beauty and quiet and have a few good meals. However, the resort is very focused on the INSIDE. There is nowhere to sit outside (except in the pool area), no sidewalks. To get from parking to the front desk you have to walk a long distance inside and through the smoky casino, if you walk the short distance outside you risk being rundown by speeding motorists. Even the hiking trail which is supposed to be onsite is down a street with no sidewalks! Bring your walking shoes! My room was down a very long hallway with a view of a roof and no view of the scenery. Otherwise it was fairly comfortable and clean. I asked to be moved but was refused. The pool looks beautiful in pictures but was very dirty. The woman who was bartender there was absolutely fantastic. The other employees I engaged with were not very helpful. The food was so-so. The second night I went elsewhere after having two unsatisfactory meals. There is no bar to hang out in except the central bar in the casino. And finally the place is really focused on pulling as much money from you as possible. The coffee maker in my room was dirty so I spent $7 on a cup of tea each day at a Starbuck that was on the other side of the hotel. I got charged for items I didn't use at the minibar. Renting a movie is $20 for things that I could rent elsewhere for free or low price. Overall, I would not stay here again.

Came from Canada and had a fantastic time. Restaurants were all really good, casino staff friendly and rooms were greatWe only had 2 slight complaints.1) casino could possibly be set up better for non smokers. Very minot complain but it was hard to get through certain spits without getting a face of smoke and the only signs were on the machine.2) the bartender at the pool Friday afternoon was very unfriendly. Seemed annoyed I was ordering drinks. Had a scowling look on her face the entire time. Definitely didn't go back for a second drink. Kind of bummed out the entire experience at the pool.Overall though we will be back. Great time.

Great location, friendly staff, and beautiful rooms! However, refrigerators in your room are not applicable unless you pay per night. No microwave or laundry services are on the premises either. That made us a little sad, lolMost of the attractions are within 10 minutes. We appreciated the free valet services, and the drivers were personable.Great local food choices nearby, and the pool was beautiful!I wished the Casino was smoke-free, but I understand that some people love to smoke. We will be back and thank you, Mt. Airy Resort and to all of the staff, we tipped as much as we could :)

My fiance and i had a fabulous time!. I was there for a vacation and it was my first time staying a few days. We tried all of the restaurants in the hotel and were quite pleased. The pizza place was yummy and the personal pies were great!. I had a steak and my fiance had salmon at the steak house. We also gambled and it was fun!. All of the staff were nice. We didn't play golf but our view of the golf area looked well manicured!. Yes!, we will go back!!!

Went for the day to play in the casino. It was very nice. Extremely clean with great table minimums. Five dollars for carnival card games mostly. Ten and fifteen for roulette and craps. We ate at Guy Fieri's, which was great. There is a very good selection of new slots and enough of the older kind too. We also purchased a few snacks from the convenience store, which surprisingly was not overpriced. Had coffee from their shop, also good. The staff throughout was very friendly and easy to get, if you needed them. We will definitely go back and try the hotel on the next trip. Husband won on slots, I lost, won a little on table games. The dealers are very nice.

We came to the Poconos for our annual guys golf trip. We loved the Mt Airy golf course! Beautiful and very challenging. We spent two nights at the casino and everyone was friendly and we had a great time. (though we all left losers!)

Tip-top experience! Rooms were spotless. Bedding clean and super comfy. I slept like a rock. Dining options were plentiful and 24 hours. Conveniently located near lots of activities. We will be back.

Just went to the casino didn't stay in resort. We thought about it but PA allows smoking in their casinos. This place is beautiful, but stinks like a 70s bar. Glad I live in Ohio! We don't allow that crap in our state.

Had such a great time here! From the reasonably priced buffet to the lucky slots. (Try out Cha-Ching) I won 492 dollars left with 3 the drink servers came around frequently and it wasn't super crowded. Highly recommend

Had a very fun time during our stay. Met a gentleman at the desk named Rocco. He was serving a very difficult customer with professional and grace even though the customer was irate. I was his next customer and he didn’t miss a beat with giving me great service as if the previous customer was never there. That is a holy grail experience when that happens. Later, when the desk was caught up, Rocco saw my wife and I waiting by the luggage pickup desk and came over and personally got our luggage and took it to our room. What service by Rocco!!A few other points for others to know about this resort: Apparently it is not 21+ after all. We saw about 12 kids check in while waiting for our room. Also, the entire casino floor smells strongly of cigarette smoke. It is said to be only one section but I am in the buffet right now and feel like someone is smoking in the booth next to me.Buffet was the best casino buffet we have had as far as flavor and quality. Guy’s breakfast food was great as well!

First time in many years. No more heart shaped tubs, giant champagne glass tubs, or in room pools. Instead it's upscale with a casino and finer dining options. I miss the cheesy fun of the old Mt. Airy, but the new stuff is def worth the visit, especially when you win in the casino 😁. The best thing about both the old style and the new - it's all about fun !!

Clint W — Google review

Great food but a little pricey. My only complaint is their slot machines start at five dollars. Not my cup of tea. Way too expensive for my taste. I play for fun, not to try to get rich. BUT, if you want to gamble and enjoy great food I highly recommend this casino.

Daniel B — Google review

So on our way from Virginia to Boston to see the Foo Fighters… already a perfect trip. But in our mid to later years we don’t travel all the way in one shot. So we pick little adventures. Found one!!!Not crazy expensive, valet parking, check in was a little slow but it was a Thursday at 5pm and 2 counter people…The room… amazing and the bed crazy comfortable. A separate room in the bathroom for the toilet, wonderful shower, well stocked fridge (not cheap).Several restaurants, the pool is amazing and my wife and I just kept swimming through the inside outside water entrance. The staff was polite and since we never gamble, and we don’t know how, security was nice enough to show us what to do.We already book a night for the return trip. More photos to come.

Rail museum

Sights & Landmarks

The Steamtown National Historic Site is a museum that showcases the history of trains in the United States. Visitors can explore steam locomotives, exhibits, and take rides in a former railroad yard. The museum boasts an impressive collection of trains and artifacts, though some visitors may find it challenging to comprehend the purpose behind certain pieces in the collection.

This is an amazing place to take anyone who is a fan of trains, the history of this region or just someone looking to explore something new. The collection of steam engines is vast and it's definitely worth taking the rail yard shuttle, for just $6 you get a decent length ride that shows you some good views

Zachary O — Google review

The Steamtown National Historic Site was a great place to stop and learn about the trains and the history of the area. There were many trains that have been restored and some running on the premises. While I did not try to take my dog in to the museum, as they are usually not allowed, there is a lot of picnic area where I was able to walk her. There is plenty of parking, and even room for trucks with campers/trailers and RVs. We really enjoyed our visit.

Kate J — Google review

Real great national historic site. It’s really amazing what the National Park Services has done to preserve this important piece of American rail history. Very detailed and fun exhibits. Feel free to move along at your own pace. You can easily spend a couple hours reading and watching all the materials that have been prepared. Rangers are there to help you if you need it.

Samuel L — Google review

Step into a bygone era at Steamtown National Museum. This captivating museum brings the golden age of railroads to life. You might first notice the impressive locomotives. Then you want to explore all the interactive exhibits. Take to the train for a nice ride. It's a must-visit for history buffs and train enthusiasts alike. Hours of learning and fun.

Baron M — Google review

It's a working railroad. Come ride a steamtrain or an interurban. Explore a real roundhouse. This is a National Park. It's free. Train rides are $6. Looks like plenty of restoration work to be done . Also, there is a Trolly Museum on site.

STEVE — Google review

We didn't realize that Steamtown is a National Historic Park. Bring your Passport and get it stamped in the store. It was a free entrance. We went with our grandchildren. The older one loved it.Go on a weekend if you want a train ride. We'll definitely return and maybe do the Trolly Museum and a train ride. We took a quick walk over to the Marketplace as well.It was a nice day trip from the Triple Cities area.

On our most recent mini roadtrip we stopped in Scranton, PA. and visited Steamtown, National Park. Probably because time of the year there was plenty of parking available, and we stopped at the information shed and spoke with a Park Ranger who was very informative and friendly. Asked a bunch of questions and got excellent information for our answers. This place is incredible, done right, beautiful resource and free as a National Park. Steam locomotives and the shops they are maintained in. Spoke to staff who were stationed at many different locations. This place is excellent for a young family, smooth walkways and many safe spots to view the history of the steam age of railroading. We ate lunch prior to stopping in so we didn't sample any food that was available. Exhibits are perfectly presented. In the back shop saw the ring of fire presentation on how they change wheels on the huge steam locomotives. You have the opportunity to take a ride on the outskirts of Scranton. There are so many pieces of equipment to see here leave yourself at least a hour and half or more. It was a real thrill to be able to go into the Engineers cab on the "Big Boy" locomotive one of only eight surviving that were originally built, this locomotive is enormous and super heavy. Saw some locomotives that are currently in for repairs and a few outside waiting their turn to be restored.

James F — Google review

What an outstanding job the National Park Service did restoring this historic property to its former glory. The grounds, parking, common areas, visitor center, museum and bathrooms were very clean and well maintained. The property is well staffed and knowledgeable regarding all things train related. There is a food court adjacent to the park via foot bridge and a park store onsite as well. Short 30 minute steam locomotive train rides were available for $6. I had 3 bars of Verizon 4G LTE Roaming.

Will H — Google review

Amazing display of trains the Union Pacific Big boy is an amazing condition wonderful to see awesome to see a giant piece of machinery that has spent over a million miles on the rails. If you're an office fan pen daniel Daniel n papers is right up the road be sure and get a picture. Highly recommend the train ride is very short.

Walter C — Google review

Located in Scranton PA (City of Scranton), Steamtown National Historic Site has an amazing history about trains, more specifically, steam trains. Steamtown showcases steam locomotives when they ruled the USA railways and offers a working turntable, exhibits featuring what life was like working at the roundhouse, how it felt when on a train car, and much more regarding these historic locomotives. It is an amazing place if you enjoy trains and history.

Traveling P — Google review

First time here. At first glance, the place has a TON of potential. Granted, I visited on a grey Wednesday, bit of drizzle in the skies. Big Boy 4012 looks absolutely amazing, new paint makes her look ready to run with 4014. Noted several other locomotives out front, static and looking nice. Made my way into the roundhouse courtyard, found more rolling stock. It was very quiet, only saw maybe 30 visitors the entire time.Went to enter the roundhouse, exhibit was closed. Then another door. Got about halfway around and found the workshop door open. Inside, there's a nice walkway that runs up and around the circumference, giving visitors great views of the locomotives stored there. Walked back outside. There's another walkway that runs over the rolling stock stored outside, runs over to the Steamtown Marketplace (stores). Didn't walk it, as the rain started falling heavier. Ultimately stayed about 45 minutes, saw everything.Very nice trolley museum right next door, worth a visit.Coined as a "national" museum, just expected to see a bit more work going on, more engines being restored. Couple locomotives outside were in a very poor state. The place just had a very sad energy, maybe because of the weather. Dunno.

Mark B — Google review

Very nice depot will well preserved engines, friendly staff. The best collection is that cross section cut locomotive.Good place to bring kids.

Skier E — Google review

Well presented historical displays, the amount of care that goes into restoring and presenting these locomotives is unbelievable. The Rangers were engaging and informed. The museum presentation is very interesting, presents a slice in time of the Gilded Age and the way workers were (not) valued. Ample parking and no cost to enter

Rob F — Google review

We visited Steamtown National Historical Site on a weekend. The rangers greeted us with smiles and were very informative. The site has acres of steam locomotive history. Lots of photo opportunities. Great place for family time.

Aquatramp — Google review

Cool bucket list place if you're a buff. Was neat to see Delaware Lackawanna shifting cars around for Taylor yard. Roundhouse was open and we got to see them doing work to #26. Was cool to get a view up above. History Museum was a bit tacky and was hoping for it to be a little more in depth but probably interesting if you have little knowledge on railroading prior to going. Loved seeing the Steam engines on static display and seeing the trainset for the Moscow trip. It's amusing to me after 4 years that the Visitor center and theater still aren't open, but admission is free so I can't complain.

Eric V — Google review

For RR lovers this was a great experience. Awesome museum loads if static displays and an opportunity to ride a steam train. The only downside is the length of ride but it doesn't change the experience.

Jan0 1 — Google review

Wow this place is awesome. Right across from the Electric Trolly museum! You gotta go to both places. Basically this place has a ton (literally) of steam locomotives; everything from 1900s style semi trucks called Switching trucks that move other trains around using steam to an actual Big Boy which weights 3,000,000 lbs. They have a huge 44 bay switching wheel station, an 1800s maintenance bit, an oil house….and a ton of other cool trains and steam engines. Well worth your time if you like giant massive steel and iron giants.

Daniel — Google review

This place is such a beauty! It’s free to enter, just make sure it’s open. They had “The Big Boy”! Such an amazing sight to see. Definitely a fun place to learn as well, they have amazing history about trains and freight going across America and how everything has changed. I fell in love with the history and everything I saw about the history. The trains are cool, and you can go in most (not all) trains!

Lauren — Google review

Great place, especially if you like trains. It's great for adults and kids. Lots of old trains to see, inside and outside. Highly recommend

Ryan J — Google review

The park was fascinating! I didn't know much about locomotives prior, but the signs and the tours are so thorough. You won't be upset by a visit here. The grass on the sides are dog friendly in case you bring your furry family member.

Nature & Parks

Nay Aug Park is a family-friendly park with various attractions, including a treehouse, waterfalls, footbridge and waterslide complex. It also boasts fantastic hiking trails of varying lengths and elevations for different levels of hikers. The park offers scenic views, historic statues and monuments as well as a scenic overlook. Its stone and paved parking lot is located near the playground area with public restrooms available. Additionally, Nay Aug Park is conveniently close to Scranton city and its museum.

This place is one of my favorites locations, because of its amazing hiking trails. Many of the trails vary in terms of elevation and length. There's a trail to hike for every level! If you love scenic views including waterfalls, beautiful trees, and cool sites with historic statues and monuments, this place is for you. There's also a scenic overlook. The parking lot is near the playground area and it's stone and paved parking. The park is not far from the city of Scranton either so everything is close to get to. It's also close to the museum. For those with small bladders, don't worry; there are public restrooms.

Brenna C — Google review

We enjoyed the park, such beautiful scenery, the trails were nice but could be marked a little better. We took a picture of the map and had to keep looking to find our way. It was a very warm day but most of the trail is very shaded. The playground was huge.Dog friendly. The coal mine tour was excellent, the volunteers running it were so helpful, personable and knowledgeable. They even let us do the tunnel tour with our two dogs.

Melissa R — Google review

A nice place to hike in the city, with some really pretty views. And i like that it is pet friendly. But the park is not well taken care of. The weeds are overgrown, and wooden railings and platforms are rotting away. It could be great if the city would invest some time and money into fixing it back up.

Yalonda M — Google review

Nay Aug Park in Scranton, Pennsylvania, is a hidden gem for nature lovers and families alike. With free parking and easy access, the park offers an enjoyable day out for visitors of all ages. Adjacent to the park is a museum that provides an intriguing glimpse into Pennsylvania's natural and indigenous history, making it a great educational stop before or after your time in the park.As you explore Nay Aug, you'll come across old coal mine entrances and carts, a nod to the region's rich coal mining past. The main attraction, however, is the park's stunning trails, waterfalls, and cliffs. Despite its size, the park feels private, even on busier days, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the scenery. The trails themselves are moderately challenging due to uneven terrain and inclines, but they reward you with breathtaking views, scenic bridges, and a unique “Pavilion in the Sky” where you can enjoy panoramic vistas. For families with children, the park also features a decent-sized playground to keep the little ones entertained.Overall, Nay Aug Park offers a perfect mix of natural beauty, history, and recreation, making it an ideal destination for a day of adventure and relaxation.

Anthony P — Google review

The playground is a sad, unfriendly place where you are reminded of a once happy, bright playing area people would bring their children for an afternoon of glorious play now reduced to nothing more than a place for your child to be seriously hurt. Thank God the hospital is so close. The walking trail is beautiful though and was much more pleasant.

Bobbi R — Google review

So I would describe this property as an old growth wooded urban park and its a beauty! Something for everyone including but not limited to hiking, biking, playgrounds, pool (currently closed for remodeling), ball fields, volleyball courts, concert venue, gazebos, treehouse, covered bridge, museum, coal mine and of course the gorge with scenic water flows and falls. I had full bars of Verizon 4G LTE Roaming throughout the property.

Will H — Google review

Only walked one trail and have so much more to explore here. They are pet friendly.

Michael G — Google review

First visit to this park and it hit all the points I like in good parks: multiple attractions and extensive hiking trail system. I have hiked Davis and Rodman trails along Roaring Brook with impressive views of the gorge. There are multiple viewpoints along Davis trail, some of them get close to the falls via stone stairs. Brooks Mine was another top attraction of the park for me.

Mike Z — Google review

Nice enough park for a short day hike. Most of the trails are well managed and clean. Plenty of places for kids.Cons: outer trails are not maintained and covered with lots of broken glass and large garbage. At least one overlook platform is in very poor, unsafe condition.

Max M — Google review

Nice big park. Has 2 huge playgrounds for kids with swing and slides. Walking trail along the side of waterfall. David Wenzel treehouse is the best place to lookout for waterfall. Handicapped accessible through out the park.Picnic tables are available .It looks so beautiful During fall season with all different varieties of colors of trees

Toral P — Google review

One of the most beautiful parks I’ve ever seen! The fall colors are so bright that my phone didn’t capture the beauty like my eyes did.

Júlia M — Google review

Great overlook from the tree house. We hike down to the water fall. From the tree house only 5 minutes. Beautiful.

Mei B — Google review

BROKEN GLASS EVERYWHERE. We would have loved to explore more of the park, and if it were just my husband and I, it would have been okay. But the broken glass all over the trails left us no choice but to cut our visit short out of fear our dog would cut his paws. If you have dogs or young children I just don't think it's safe to hike the trails.

Kristi M — Google review

Had an absolutely amazing time. There was so much going on that I could see and do. It's hard to believe this place is essentially in downtown Scranton.I love the walking trails. I also noted that there's great running loops as well (I'm a runner so I'll give that a try soon).Everyone was out and about. Kids were jumping from a rock face into a waterfall basin. Probably didn't see or care about the signs saying not to, but hey. It's summer! Most trails were easy. But the hard trails were true to their description. This day, I feel like I did a lot. Hiked, went to the museum, took waaaaay too many photos, and did the mine tour (apparently only open on Saturdays). When you're in da hood, make sure to drop by. You won't be disappointed.

Michael G — Google review

I absolutely love this safe haven of nature in the heart of Scranton. It's kept clean, there are lots of walking trails, and different activities areas. This public space is such a lovely part of the city. A breath of nature to truly behold. On the back end are the old train tracks and tunnels. It's really cool to see how the gorge runs along these old tracks. The nature and history of this location is just lovely.

Aimée G — Google review

We love nay aug it has various levels of difficulty for trails and wonderful photo spots. There is now a coffee shop, everhart museum and now a coal mine tour. Please make this a must see when you visit scranton it's so much more than the office.

Erica B — Google review

While most of the park and the museum, are beautiful, the playground is a dangerous, disgusting, disaster. One slide has a huge drop off to the ground. One of the "accessible" swings is so hi, that only a very tall, able bodied adult would be able to use it. Some boards have fallen and just lay on the ground. Posts where pieces have been removed are sticking out of the ground. Rails are coming off and exposed nails are sticking out through out the structure. The graffiti that is very sexual should be removed.

Ryan M — Google review

It's beautiful, it has a lot of amenities and nice places to take pics. My only concern is that there is no security at all. There was a guy harassing girls. But beautiful overall.

Alexandra R — Google review

Nice walking and hiking trails, lovely falls. Got a bonus: tour of the Brooks coal mine on site (tours available only on Saturdays 10a-5p). Fascinating stuff!

Nan P — Google review

We stopped here along a road trip and it was a great decision. Pretty views and great to stretch your legs. We got to see: sculpted turtles, a treehouse, waterfall, gorge, covered pedestrian bridge.

State park

Nature & Parks

Promised Land State Park, located on the Pocono Plateau, offers a natural wonderland spanning 3,000 acres and surrounded by over 12,000 acres of Delaware State Forest. The park features two lakes with opportunities for fishing, boating, and swimming. Visitors can explore elevated wooded areas through hiking and biking trails or enjoy a self-contained camping experience with various camping styles available. Recreational facilities include playgrounds, beaches, volleyball courts, basketball courts, and pavilions.

We enjoyed this campground. Site #PT3 was quite secluded if you didn't look behind you. The site behind us was quite close, and kind of backward, but that didn't bother us. There is also an electric box in the site that does hum a little bit. We enjoyed our stay, only thing we wish is that there was water at the site or at least at the dump station. We had to dump during our stay, but to get water you have to stop in the middle of the roadways in the campground to hook up to a faucet or haul water to your site. The dump station rinse hose was constantly running, it was not able to be shut off. The bathhouse was really nice. The showers were hot and clean. This is a bear area, but we did not see any. We did have quite a few deer walking through the woods in front of our site, that was nice to see. One morning a park officer was up early (around 7am) leaf blowing, which was quite disruptive if you were trying to sleep in.

Kate J — Google review

This site felt a little off the beaten path in the Pocono Mtns, but we were able to secure a site that was mostly secluded, and the site beside us was empty. It was clean. Restrooms were pit and private. We were beside a pretty creek. The gravel road running through the sites was particularly loud, children walked the road, and there was a cabin behind us and across a small road that had a great deal of activity, but all was quiet after 10p. There were bear warnings on the website and on the picnic table, and the hostess said her daughter had a black bear walk through her site a couple of years earlier (without disturbing anything), but that was the only sighting she was aware of. It was comfortable for our one night passing through.

Imke R — Google review

Promise Land State Park has been a Columbus Day tradition for my family and I for as long as I can remember. It is one of my favorite places to relax for the weekend. Promise Land State Park offers cozy cabins, beautiful trails and a lake for kayaking and pedal boating. My favorite thing to do at Promise Land State Park, besides have a campfire with smores is stargazing at night at the beach by the lake. One of my favorite restaurants there is the Promise Land Inn, the food is 10/10 and the staff is very friendly! I highly recommend this state park for a romantic getaway or a family vacation!

Camilla C — Google review

Very nice clean secluded camp site. Stayed at Pickerel point, which was really nice with great views of sunrise and sunset facing the lake on both sides.Bathrooms were clean, only complaint was not all the bathrooms had hot water, thus subtracting star.Be aware the sites without electric, you will need to park your car in a small lot marked for your reserved campsite and carry your items into the site.Nice trails around the area also!

Tony Y — Google review

We really liked it here. We stayed in the Rhododendron campground. The sites were good sized, shaded & spaced pretty far apart. Josh, the EES, was great. We attended three of his programs. These were some of the best showers we've experienced in a state park & we've been to quite a few. The Masker Museum is really nice. You can put a lot of miles on a bike but some of the roadways are in very poor condition, particularly the stretch between the park office & the museum. Two lakes nice for kayaking and fishing. Many hiking trails.

Neil Y — Google review

For this camping trip, I stayed in a tent at Pickeral Point campground. The site I stayed at was a "walk to" site. What a beautiful site it was! Although the walk in was a fairly steep hill, the effort was well worth it. The site was spacious and close to the water. I did have a raccoon visit my site one night looking for some food. He actually did manage to get in my tent and have a snack or two. I got him out though. I would highly recommend this campground as it is located on a peninsula so ther are alot of sites near the water. I'm looking forward to camping there again.

Robert B — Google review

Quiet day under winter conditions - cold temp in 20's, icy spots in parking lot. Trail was easy to walk no problems with ice. Recommended for walking with your friend or dog.

Robert G — Google review

This State Park is a beautiful spot that I've been visiting since I was young. The trails are well-maintained and offer a range of difficulty levels, making them great for all types of hikers. However, be prepared for the local wildlife—I've encountered squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits, porcupines, deer, and even bears. Also, don't forget to bring bug spray, as the trails can get quite buggy in the summer, and always check for ticks after your hike. The park also offers boat rentals, which my family has enjoyed in the past. Just a tip: make sure your paddle is in good condition—ours broke in the middle of the lake once, which made for an interesting experience! And be aware, the water stays chilly year-round.

Sam L — Google review

It was a nice day to spend outside. Kids played in the water which had a safe boundary, 3-4ft deep max, and safe from the boats. It wasn’t super crowded, pet friendly, nearby park for dry play, and bathrooms clean and spacious. My parents went on kayaks while I laid back watching the kids play in the water. Beach was free, kayaks reasonable priced. My only issue was that there was A LOT of dog poop everywhere. I mean, in the grass and in the sand. And you definitely need footwear to wear in the water because the rocks were poking.Overall, I recommend it for your family friendly relaxing beach day here.

Amna F — Google review

We booked a cabin and camped here, it was super fun. The washrooms were clean and had running hot water as well. There were sinks in the back as well for cleaning dishes.

Surabhi S — Google review

My husband and I stayed at this park overnight on 5/6/24 on our way to Canada for the summer. This was a beautiful state park with some hiking trails. The site was large and private and level. We stayed in Beechwood site PT #3 which was huge and would accommodate a much larger RV. We camped in a 35ft fifth-wheel. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area. With our senior discount the price was $36 a night.

Took the kids swimming for the afternoon. Nice lake.. not overly populated. No lifeguard so keep that in mind. Dog friendly . Clean porta pottys. Playground on site. Picnic tables and spots to grill. Definitely will be going again.

My family and I have been renting cabins there since 1975. We love love the family atmosphere and the beauty of the park. They have cabins to accommodate everyone whether it be rustic for the more modern type, even cabins that allow pets. Plenty of activities. Swimming, hiking, boats, fishing

This place is incredible! I recommend for a romantic or family getaway. The park is humongous and connects to several towns. We rented a cabin for the weekend and we’re able to bring our dogs. Lots of hiking trails, nearby rivers and streams and surrounding towns to visit. We barely scratched the surface during our visit. I would bring all necessities, including food, with you. There aren’t many stores to shop from.

Promised Land State Park is a very peaceful park in the Pocono area. It has beautiful sights, especially in the Autumn season with the changing of the leaves colors! There is a camping section and restrooms available. They also have a pavilion, playground, beach area, and a few courts. Promised Land State Park is a beautiful area for walking/hiking, swimming, boating, and kayaking. I would recommend checking out Promised Land Stat Park if you are in the Pikes County/Pocono Mountains area.

Claws 'N' Paws Wild Animal Park is a thrilling destination that offers an array of experiences for animal lovers. The park boasts over 160 species of exotic animals, including parrots, reptiles, alligators, and pythons. Visitors can enjoy up-close encounters with various creatures at the petting zoo and catch exciting animal shows during the summer and fall seasons. Additionally, guests have the opportunity to feed giraffes and turtles while also enjoying activities like deer and lamb petting.

Loved it! The kids loved it. The lions were the best ! You can feed the giraffe, birds, tortoise and petting zoo area. Small but worth it. Trails are alitte tuff for strollers.

Absolutely amazing small zoo, Had a wonderful time taking my two granddaughters there, my granddaughter had such fun feeding all the animals, her favorite was Jethro!!! Definitely will be making more visits. It's not only a place for kids but adults can have fun there also. The only downside is the rocky pathways through most of the area, if you have an all terrain stroller that's highly recommend.

William A — Google review

Cute animal park! The drive there was a bit of surprise. Lots of back roads and in the middle of nowhere. There was no cell service in the area and that was unfortunate! The animals looked well taken care of, in my opinion. It was a fun time!

Cheryl L — Google review

Pretty decent little zoo. Had all our favorite small cats and plenty of close up experiences for the kids. Definitely worth a trip if you're in the area. Note: If you have mobility issues, some of the paths might be a little too rough as they are packed earth and have some rocks.

Kevin F — Google review

Claws and Paws is a hidden gem! We have been coming for a few years now, and just love this place! This time was our first doing the Animal Talk Show, and the gentleman who hosted it, 5/22/24, was so very informative and entertaining. He had all the children enthralled! I don't know who enjoyed it more the children or the adults! We come as a field trip every year for our school and look forward to it each year.

Mrs H — Google review

The one star is for the staff. They were friendly, knowledgeable and seemed to care about the animals. That’s where the positivity ended. The animals are kept in small enclosures with very little if anything at all for mental stimulation. Many of the animals appeared really visibly stressed. They also seemed to be heavily medicated. The enclosures don’t really seem entirely safe and it looked fairly easy for an escape if they really tried. Many pacing back and forth to the point where you actually get anxiety just watching them. This place could be great if they had decent habitat space for the animals. It’s cool that you get to essentially hike through the woods but as it is now, this place is a sad example of animal exploitation.

Jennifer R — Google review

Interesting place nestled in the woods. They have lots of different animals with both fence and plexiglass views. Lots of NYers there. A little pricey at $24.50/person, but was still enjoyable.

The C — Google review

Came on opening day with my daughter for the first time ever. She had an amazing time and so many of the animals there were interested in us and interacted with us. They all look super content and well taken care of in my opinion compared to other zoos of similar size that I’ve been to. Saw zookeepers giving some animals their lunch and it was what I could only describe as the most beautiful salad, all different colors of peppers and carrots ontop of a bed of greens. Happy animals. grounds with a natural dirt path throughout. Seriously had more fun here than we had at Turtleback recently and the animals looked way happier too. We will be back soon, I think this place is a gem

Poconos R — Google review

I've been to claws n paws a handful of times now, and ive always left happy. My only complaint is that they won't let me pet the panthers or wolves /s. Their admittance is a little high but I think it's worth while. This latest visit I'm pretty sure the Prarie dogs wanted to come home with me, but I resisted the urge! I will absolutely be coming back, I hope I'll have time to bring my niece and nephew when they come to visit in a couple weeks.

Cody K — Google review

Save your money and go somewhere else. I wasn’t excepting much going here and it was worse than what I was prepared for. I’ll just say this- it’s not stroller friendly, not much to see, and the animals were not lively or friendly. The camel was spitting at people and looked very troubled, the giraffe swung his neck at a patron and stomped at us, and the lion was getting more nails hammered on his cage for extra security.

Georgia T — Google review

Great time spent with the kids. See and interact with a variety of animals. Not too crowded and in a wooded setting. Our two year old loved it

Matt U — Google review

I completely understand the pricing for this place just due to animal care staff pay and the economy. I will say when pulling in you can’t tell that there’s additional parking right away and the tree lines in need of some trimming. I will say everyone was friendly and animals seemed healthy. They’re honest about their rocky pathways definitely not easy for any handicapped but I did see some visitors in wheelchairs. If the pathways could be improved or loose large rocks removed would greatly help. The animals enclosures seemed very bare and rocky and some seemed too small for them. Like I said all animals seemed healthy. Just looks like a work in progress and hope they keep improving.

Taylor Y — Google review

My fiancee and I had a fabulous time there! Perfect weather, stunning animal and a kind staff. Perfect day trip location.

Ronald B — Google review

This is a great little zoo. There's a lot to see and fun experiences to be had. You can feed a giraffe, tortoises, lorikeets. Also, there's a Dino dig and petting zoo. Definitely a must see.

Jennifer A — Google review

When I first arrived in the parking lot I was disappointed because it didn't look like much, but after I walked through the gate I changed my mind! They have a nice variety of animals and you can spend a bit of time looking at everything. We really enjoyed the giraffe feeding and the monkeys! I would recommend coming here if you want a nice time being with animals!

Joel W — Google review

My daughter went here for a class trip two years ago and has been begging to return since. The tickets were out of our budget, but we were finally able to go yesterday and I really wish we hadn't. A lot of the animals were in very small enclosures, and several were in obvious distress. Most notedly, the fennec foxes who repeatedly ran back and forth while panting, the bears pacing and growling, and the marmosets which ran around their enclosure and jumped at every noise. A lot of the larger animals appeared to be sedated. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the man who led the animal feedings during our visit was very funny and showed a definite love for the animals. Despite that, these animals deserve better.

Allyson S — Google review

Fun way to enjoy time with family! This park is very kid friendly & features several opportunities for visitors to interact with & feed the animals! However, this park can improve upon making a more dedicated effort to update park buildings, enclosures, & the overall appearance of the grounds. Several enclosures, especially those for the park's larger animals, seem to be on the small side & most of the park's enclosures could use a lot more greenery/vegetation. Although the animals were seemingly well fed & taken care of, enclosure enhancements will dramatically improve this park. Visitors should also note that pathways here are uneven & are not currently stroller, scooter, or wheelchair friendly; plans to improve these pathways should be considered soon. I do give the park credit for keeping the grounds free of litter. Overall, 3 stars for animal diversity & fun family activities, but lacking 5 stars due to the overall display & appearance of park grounds & enclosures.

Nature G — Google review

It was very enjoyable. The zoo is inside a forest, and there is a variety of animals. The Giraffe is very friendly.

Ymcebs — Google review

This is a nice family-owned zoo located in a woodland habitat. Nice shady walks with healthy animals in a family-friendly environment. The staff is friendly and will tell u about the animals, their names, ages and special stuff about each.

Pocowild1 — Google review

Absolutely fabulous! Came to Hamlin, PA for vacation and saw this nearby our Air B&B. Figured we’d bring our 10 year old and 2 year old to it. IT WAS AMAZING! Better than the Bronx Zoo (and we live in New York). Everything is in the shade, it wasn’t crowded and you can get closer to the animals than any other zoo I’ve been to. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Elk Mountain Ski Resort

Ski resort

Nature & Parks

Ski & Snowboard Areas

Opened in 1959, this local resort offers a range of lifts, trails for all levels & 2 terrain parks.

Elk is well worth the extra drive for anyone looking to ski or snowboard in the Pocono Mountain area. The snow conditions are always better than any resort in the area. Crowds are usually low, and the staff and locals offer a great all-around vibe.

A H — Google review

If you want to get your elevation training in for trail running, this the place to go. Nice views from the top once you get up. Several black diamonds to challenge you legs and rebound meandering blue squares to run down and up. There’s a gravel road on back side roughly mile long you take to challenge your gravel and loose rocks running. Just a nice place to hike, march , and run in the summer.

J. D — Google review

Bad timingWent skiing on Tuesday and the quad was still closed, then b4 I could get to the other side they closed that lift too at 12:30.I asked for 1/2 day voucher or price difference between full day&1/2 and was turned down. Since I spent the remaining hours in the bar had they offered me a beer I would have left happy and given them 5 stars for customer service.

Joyce S — Google review

Definitely a hidden gem. Lighter crowds than the Scranton and Stroudsburg slopes. Has an old school vibe.

Christopher K — Google review

an amazing mountain to ski!just note that this is not for beginners, there’s only one slope which is really easyalso, some of the upper trails were closed even though it was really snowing in the last few dayslast but no least, one of the lifts got stuck and they had to rescue dozens of people that got stuck and it took them more than one hour

Gilad L — Google review

Always an amazing experience. So true like skiing ⛷ in Vermont without the drive. They like most other places are now running on the RFID chips for lift passes. My only complaint would be food prices a steep and so are prices at the door but you definitely get a beautiful ride for your money.

David S — Google review

Elk Mountain is the best place to ski in Pennsylvania. I have been going here for 18 years and they never disappoint. Parking is a breeze, shuttles take you to the lodge in little to no wait time, and the staff are friendly. Can’t beat the prices. Additionally, the slopes are amazing. Never have to wait long to catch the lift and the trails are never too crowded. On my last visit every trail was open and I was extremely pleased. Will continue to come back again and again! Also, when we were there everyone wore masks in line and inside the building. Just wanted to add that as that as pertinent information!

Christine D — Google review

Amazing ski slope with that ‘old country chalet’ feel. Their location allows for conditions that make the drive very worthwhile. Lift lines move fast and crowds were very reasonable on the day we went. Highly recommend you give Elk a try!

Cory M — Google review

IWe had a great two days at this mountain! Still has that small family owned feel but it’s not small! Longest runs in PA! There wasn’t any natural snow for two weeks before our visit and you would have never known. Conditions were 10/10. We had a large group with all types of experience levels and everyone enjoyed their time. Bob from group sales was attentive and helpful. Mike in lessons was patient and knowledgeable with my kids who switched over to snowboarding. The people working there were all kind and happy to be there. If I had to say one bad thing about this mountain it would be the lifts were old and slow but no lines at all and the long runs made up for it. We’ll definitely be back!

Elena M — Google review

Great place for the family to ski or snowboard. Staff is very friendly. The trails are well maintained and the weather has been great for snow and snow making. Parking is convenient with shuttles to the lodge at least every 5 minutes. The lodge is well maintained and clean. We travel extra miles because this place is worth it for families.

Noel A — Google review

This resort serves at least couple of hundred customers every day and thousands in the season. Making a pretty decent buck for an owner. So why at such a large quantity of customers when they want to use a restroom THey have to walk mostly with ski boots steep set of stairs? Holding to a rail, and when finally they reach the restroom, the floor is so slippery and wet. How much SAFER would it be if restrooms were located on the main floor.I've been coming to Elk Mountain for about 3 years and have a positive experience every time. Lifts are old but function perfect. Food is always expensive in skiing resorts, so a couple of sandwiches made home saves you a few bucks. Comparing to other similar places is not so expensive, and worth a visit.

Jar D — Google review

Been skiing elk since high school.I'm now 56. Took my 11 year old stepdaughter for her first time recently. It's always fun, but wow it's an expensive sport nowadays...

Darin ( — Google review

It gets four out of five stars as the best skiing in Pennsylvania. It can not compare to big mountain skiing in New England (Jay Peak, Killington, Stowe, Sunday River), or out West (Alta, Jackson Hole, Sun Valley), but it is the best skiing PA's got. It still has a small mountain atmosphere, which is hard to find anymore.

Always A — Google review

Wonderful experience at Elk Mountain Ski Resort.Staff were kind and helpful in a very special way, particularly in the Apparel shop where they got me out of a pinch. It's the type of experience where you've got to pay it forward because you want to try to make someone else feel just as great.

Daniel L — Google review

February 23, 2024Elk Mountain did not disappoint with ski conditions, low crowds, and welcoming employees. We had beginners and more advanced in our group and this mountain was perfect for all of us. We did not get bored at all.The cafe food was not ideal but we packed bars in our gear, ate on the lifts, and skied ~7 hours out of the 8 hour lift ticket. It is a well cared for mountain. Lift ticket and rental prices are reasonable. We will absolutely return.

Lynn K — Google review

Elk Mountain Ski Resort is a top choice for those seeking a mix of challenging and leisurely skiing, efficient operations, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. It’s a ski destination that truly offers a memorable and enjoyable winter experience.

Ross Park Zoo, located in Binghamton, is a long-standing zoo and animal conservation center that offers an opportunity for families to spend quality time together while learning about wildlife and the importance of animal conservation. The zoo showcases a diverse range of species including birds of prey, big cats, panda bears, lemurs, wallabies, red wolves, and endangered animals. Visitors can engage in various activities such as Nature Play, education stations, face painting, and informative talks.

Went to the Illumination for Conservation event. The light installations were spectacular! Great fundraiser for the zoo and other nature programs. Hope to be there next year!

NYBennie — Google review

My friend and I went to the zoo today. They had an event called read with the lemurs. It was very educational, they sang songs and even had a craft at the end that you could bring home if you didn't want to do it there. All the staff was very friendly in the animals are beautiful. The last time I went to the zoo they didn't have a tram to help you to the top because it is a big incline. My friend uses a wheelchair so when we saw the tram we were excited! There was an exceptional staff named Keaton that drove the tram for us. I shared a video of my friends reaction with his first ride in the tram. I think he likes it! On the way back down there was some other people with us they had problems with ambulation. They were very friendly as well. On the way down the hill Keaton drove very slow so that we could see some of the exhibits that we couldn't because of the incline. He was so knowledgeable and friendly and excited to share his info. He even posed in a picture with my friend ❤️ kudos to the Ross Park zoo for assisting people with ambulation difficulties. We will be planning a trip back soon thank you guys

Nicole C — Google review

After all these years the zoo is still my favorite place to get away to. Very clean and well kept. The staff is as always polite and helpful. Definitely recommend helping out our community and visiting Ross Park zoo.

Mac D — Google review

So much different than when I was a child but it was a nice walk. It was a beautiful day it was on the free day and it was kind of cool I walked around about a mile or more and there were plenty of families ,The staff was super friendly and more than willing to help if you needed anything I am surprised it's taking me so many years to actually make it back to the zoo I really think we should start supporting what we don't want to lose.

Michele B — Google review

I think my first visit here was 55 years ago. I loved coming as a kid and later in life bringing my daughter when we were up for a visit, and now I've brought my grandkids... It's really run down 🥺 I'm so sorry to say, and the animals should be transferred to a larger zoo, and this place should be closed.

Brenda W — Google review

Lovely little zoo! Animals are clearly well taken care of, and the style of the enclosures made them very close up for viewing! Got to see the penguins being fed!!! Took about an hour and a half to get through. Staff was lovely!

Arianna C — Google review

We traveled to the Ross Park Zoo on a family trip. The animals were adorable and it’s clear that they take great care of them. The environment is relaxing and I highly recommend you stop by if you’re in the area.

COSMarketing A — Google review

We visited on Sunday for my daughter's 5th birthday. We've been here many times before, but it was our first time going thru while the lantern festival was set up. Although it's meant for night viewing, it was still great during the day. All the lantern figures set up were amazing, and the kids loved it. We stopped at the snack bar (the pizza is always to good to pass up) and spent more time than usual wandering through checking everything out. I definitely plan on going back at night to see everything lit up!

Katie W — Google review

They have been doing a great job over the past ten years or so. One example is their festive light show, which takes place in October. This was such a great use of their grounds and brought in tons of children and adults.

Charles H — Google review

Many of the areas were closed for renovations. This was okay though should have been explained during entry, it was not.Overall a cheap fun experience for the whole family! That being said, be prepared for younger kids to complain about the walking you will be doing. 🤣

I work with an agency that supports people with disabilities. We went to attend the "free day" event that was held at the Ross Park Zoo, it was a great event! I needed help with pushing a wheelchair around the hilly terrain. I stopped at the gift shop and asked a staff member if I could get assistance with pushing a disabled person around the zoo and up the big hill especially. Keaton was AMAZING! He stopped what he was doing and actually helped push the person in the wheelchair throughout the entire zoo!! We are so thankful to KEATON!! Without him we would not have been able to experience the zoo! He enhanced our experience and made the experience more wonderful by sharing the names of the animals and different facts about the zoo and the animals along the way, which was phenomenal! It was great for the person who had special needs, as it really got her into the experience as well. KEATON was great, we had such a good time and are thankful for the event and all of Keaton's help! It was a very busy and hot day out but Keaton had a great attitude the entire time, was willing to help, and enhanced the experience for us even. Thank you greenlight and Ross Park zoo for the free day. Heather at face painting was great as well. The entire staff was very friendly and thanks again to Keaton for being so accommodating to us and allowing us to not only experience the event but have such a great experience. We very much appreciate it.

Loved it! Easy to navigate, super friendly staff. Excellent wildlife. Perfect for families.

A small but great zoo. We covered everything in about 2 hours with 3 kids. Plenty of benches to sit if you need to rest. Very friendly staff.

Ryan M — Google review

We stopped in transit from Rochester to New York. It was mother's days and mom's didn't have to pay for entry. This small Zoo is charming and has a variety of animals one might not see in larger zoos, like red pandas, white foxes, wolves and cute little wild cats. Walking the circuit doesn't take more than a couple hours. Definitely recommended for solo travelers, couples and families!

Andrés — Google review

We had a very pleasant experience not from the zoo animals but from the elaborate display of Chinese lanterns. The various animated and mythical animal lanterns were well placed along the various animal housings and walkways throughout the zoo. We visited on a nice sunny day and there were plenty of great photos opportunities. I am sure there's a whole different experience and photos opportunities when visiting at night when the lanterns are lit. The cost for night time is $20 versus $6 during the day. We hope the proceeds from the lanterns display would subsidize the overall improvement of the park which is in need of upkeep and maintenance.

Tom C — Google review

The staff at Ross Park Zoo are amazing! We visited today with an elderly gentleman who has always wanted to visit the zoo. He never felt he could go due to his health issues. We told him we could go and see what we see even if was only a few minutes. The friendly staff sent a trolly to escort us up the hill. We were able to walk a little and see the birds and leopards. That was about as much as our guy could handle physically. Their employee Keaton picked us back up at the top and proceeded to show us everything we were unable to walk to on the way back down. We had the best time! The Ross Park Zoo is beneficial to so many beautiful animals that they house and care for. They are also beneficial to our community members who might not have the opportunity to see such beautiful creatures.

Heather F — Google review

Julie’s zoo tour was absolutely fantastic! Her enthusiasm and deep knowledge about the animals made every stop engaging and informative. She connected effortlessly with visitors of all ages, making the tour enjoyable for everyone. The zoo was immaculate, and the animals appeared happy and well-cared for. This tour was educational, fun, and truly memorable. Highly recommended!

The Ross Park Zoo is a nice small zoo located in Binghamton. The zoo is easy to walk around and is well shaded. Most of the animals are easy to see and locate. The zoo has nearly 200 animals under its care. Some of the most unique animals to see are the large cats including the snow leopard, cougar, and amur leopard. The zoo displays several endangered animals including red wolves, a red panda, and African penguins. Binghamton University's mascot is the bearcat and as a result the zoo recently added binturongs or a bearcats exhibit. The zoo also has a petting zoo for kids or the young at heart. The zoo has a nice quiet nature trail that you can walk on. The nature trail avoids most of the animal exhibits, but it is an easy shortcut through the zoo. Walking distances are marked through the zoo. Concessions are sold in the zoo, but they may not always be open depending on when you visit.Admission price for the zoo was only $7.00. Parking was easy. It is easy to buy tickets on the way in. It takes about an hour and a half to see everything. Worth a visit if you’re in Binghamton.

Ryan M — Google review

This is the best zoo I have ever been to. It is a small zoo but always has wonderful events and festivals going on, and has a unique and incredible variety of animals available to see. I have driven five hours twice in the past year to see the Pallas cats and it is 1000% worth it. They were so adorable, are well taken care of and have a perfect enclosure to climb and play. I never get bored of coming to this zoo and I will be visiting again. The gift shop is very nice. The first time I visited, there wasn’t much to buy there for Pallas cats so I left a comment on the zoos instagram asking for Pallas cat stuff to be added to the gift shop and the next time I visited, there was Pallas cat stuffed animals, postcards, drawings and photographs for sale! This place really cares about the customers and went above and beyond with my expectations for the Pallas cat items at the gift shop! Great price for how incredible this zoo is. I can’t say enough about how much I love this zoo and I would visit everyday if I could! Very clean place. Sand cats and red pandas are also here. I highly recommend visiting!

Beautiful preserved mansion in Binghamton that conveys the spirit of gilded age. Mansion is brick constructed not only on exterior but also its interior walls. Guided tour was quite informative. There is ample parking next to the mansion and near the library. Area might be sketchy though as I saw person shooting up drugs in mid-day at library’s parking lot.

Joined Joe and Maggie for their last tour of the day, and had the wonderful privilege of getting two tour guides all to ourselves! Joe is amazingly educated on the social and political history of the gilded age, of local architecture, and the other works of Isaac Perry and his cohorts. We were able to put the house in context with other major projects, the enterprises that made the money of the time, and relationships to benevolent organizations and the way they navigated sociopolitical issues like sufferage and wartime accommodations. I would suggest that visitors be engaged and ask questions, as these folks are a wealth of neat information and perspective. GREAT VISIT!

Awesome little museum. It’s a miracle that so much of its history gets preserved til today (thank you, Monday Afternoon Club). I am mesmerized by the vintage furniture and the abundance of shapes in this house.Animal elements ranging from fish, squirrels, birds, griffins, lions fill in the nooks of this house. Adorable!I hope more people get to visit Phelps Museum and to see how women’s club is involved in the story of this house.Tour guide Joe knows the inside out of this house, thank you for leading us through history!

The house is absolutely spectacular. I have already been there twice and intend to go back. The staff is super nice and very informative. Can't wait to return and see the house during the holidays (I've heard it gets decorated). Truly, this piece of history has hit the jackpot when it comes to being preserved and kept as it would have been when it was built. Others are not so lucky. But, I'm sure glad some are. Stepping into this house is almost like stepping into the world of any history lovers dreams. All of the furniture is antique. The woodwork is utterly impressive. And the house has a very rich (no pun intended) history. As a bonus, even the bathrooms that visitors can use are quite nicely decorated, beautiful, and clean. One hundred percent would recommend that people visit.Edit: Went to see it decorated for Christmas and it was gorgeous.

We went to this mansion based on recommendations. We were very happy with our experience. We were looking for a stop on the way to Watkins Glen and found this. It is a stately house built with the finest materials. It survives because a woman's club had it for their HQ. Their ranks dwindled, and it was made into a museum. The place had a very sad history and makes an interesting story. We enjoyed our time there the staff is very enthusiastic.

Loved it. The wait in line was short when we arrived. We purchased the feeding buckets with lettuce, carrots and pellets to feed the animals. The whole atmosphere was totally relaxed. It was spacious and clean. The gift shop was amazing with plenty of affordable items to choose from I picked up my son a tee shirt, stuffed giraffe and rhinoceros. I recommended this place to anyone with children or animal lovers.

It's a decent place for kids to get up close to some animals. Honestly, I feel some of the exhibits should have been larger for some of the animals and more of what their natural habitat would be. The bears were the only ones that looked stressed with constant pacing. I thought it would have been a larger drive-through as it said to allow 1 to 2 hours, but we're done in less than an hour.

Beth H — Google review

Very nice, kids had a blast! Biggest down fall only one bathroom at the beginning of the park, out houses just are not my favorite. Most of the animals were out. That was nice. Absolutely loved feeding the giraffes. No penquins today. 😔 Great day out with family! Loved seeing the baby animals.

We had a wonderful afternoon at the animal park. The space is very clean. Lots of covered areas with picnic tables and benches throughout the park. Feed for the animals is available to purchase and I'd strongly suggest purchasing one of the options to enhance your visit. Bad news…No outside drinks or food are allowed in the park. Good news... there is a good food service area just outside the gift shop with reasonable prices.Plenty of parking. Knowledgeable staff. You will need to pass through the gift shop entering and leaving the park.

I love this park. It is great for all ages.It is unique from any other zoo or park I’ve ever been to because the animals interact with guests. Many of the animals can be hand fed, and stay engaged. It is also a completely accessible park, even offering quiet places for over stimulated children and adults, and offer nursing mother private spaces.

We did the drive thru Preserve due to some mobility issues and it was terrific! The animals were friendly and greedy for food. Make sure you get lots of buckets (1 per person) to have lots of opportunity to feed the variety of animals. The giraffe encounter was, of course, a highlight. It was really good to see lots of animals and it looked like they were all really well cared for.

We went for an after Christmas stroll enjoying Animal Adventure's Jungle Bells while sipping on hot chocolate. They really put on a nice light display that is respectful to the animals. You're able to feed the goats, giraffes, camels, zebra and more. Lots of great family photo opportunities too.

This place is amazing! It’s great for kids and adults. We have been a couple of times now and have loved it every time. The keepers and staff are very nice and knowledgeable. Shout out to Debbie who was working in Preserve at the giraffe feeding deck. She was so kind and sweet. My 2 yr old daughter loved her. With her help and kindness my daughter was brave enough to feed the giraffe. Overall it made today’s experience one we will never forget so thank you Debbie so very much!

A true hidden Gem tucked away in Harpursville NY. Clean Park, friendly staff and wonderful variety of Animals. Excellent value as well. Plan your visit, you will be glad you did.

Had a Penguin "Adventure" for my Son and was very happy with the experience. Mikayla was very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. Definitely lucky they have her. The experience was well worth it as was the zoo. Highlight was definitely her having penguins use colors my son picked walk over a canvas making a "painting"for him. Went above and beyond especially since I forgot the painting picture included she came to find us. Great place and highly recommend the penguin experience.

This was a fun place to spend a couple hours driving through the safari area. The animals certainly seem well cared for and content. We were told to stay in the car. It's a good thing because most of the animals were NOT shy! They come right up to the car, expecting to be fed snacks. In fact, one section felt like a gang because while one big Llama blocked the way, a whole bunch of others encircled the car expecting ALL the snacks! It's a miracle we saved some snacks for the zebra that are at the end of the road!

The is place sits back in Harpsville,NY. The animals are great to see and very affordable to go. It was 19.99 plus tax for adults to go. They have beautiful animals they take care of! They do a beautiful job with the park overall! They also have a drive through preserve. I would go back. They do change around the exhibits.

Nicely designed zoo. We did the walking area, with wide paths & good flow. There are slopes, so you'll be walking up & downhill some. There's a great variety of animals, many that we had never even heard of. The name sign tells you where they're from and their status on the endangered scale. Many will approach you, as they think you're feeding. Lions & tigers & bears, oh my! Sloths & zebras & cheetahs, oh my!You enter through the gift shop where you buy your tickets. You can also buy food for the animals. Most exhibits tell you if you feed from your flat hand or if they don't eat the food. Many have pvc tubes to gravity-feed.The highlight, of course, are the giraffes. There's a platform where you can be eye-to-eye and feed them.On a nice day, 2 hours well spent.

Beautiful place!!! Not big, but very nice zoo. We were pleasantly surprised. The animals are in good conditions. The child had the opportunity to touch and feed many animals. Additionally, we chose to feed the penguins. We didn't fully understand how it would be, but it exceeded all our expectations. It was excellent! Not only the child was delighted, but also me and even our grandmother!!!! It was a very positive experience that we will remember for a long time.We have been to many zoos and in San Diego and each one leaves different feelings and memories, but we will definitely remember this one for a long time!Highly recommend! Suitable for any age.If I'm in the area I'll definitely visit again. It was unusual and excellent!Thank you!

Aleksei G — Google review

This place is a hidden gem! In a very rural location which adds to the charm. Not far from major highways if you’re in the area. They have many different animals to see and a bunch that you can hand feed. Thought it was a nice idea to add the feeding tubes for certain animals. Some animals were not in their enclosures due to the weather but there was plenty to see. Very affordable. Would go back again in a heartbeat!

Christopher C — Google review

This is a nice zoo, With lots of various types of animals (Some you can feed and some you can get close to). Definitely do not touch the giraffes, because they don't like it (and it is part of the rules). I was able to pet a few different types of animals (donkey, sheep, goat), but you have to be good with animals and know which ones are friendly and which aren't. Some you can obviously not get close to (bears, tigers, lions, cougars, sloths, various monkeys, etc). Worth the $20 dollars. If you want to feed the animals, the 13 dollar feeding bucket is the way to go. You will have plenty of food to feed most of the animals that are allowed to be fed.

L C — Google review

Love this place. I have season passes, every time I go with my son the stuff members are super friendly! We enjoy having this in our backyard. There are so many animals to feed and my 19 month old loves going here. I recommend brining a fan for babies and sunscreen there is not a lot of shade. It’s paved so strollers are no problem.

Danielle M — Google review

We had a wonderful time visiting Animal Adventure Park. We loved the variety of animals, and you can tell they are all well taken care of. We enjoyed the easy flow of the walking paths. The prices for the tickets were worth the price and we appreciated the drinks were reasonably priced since they don't allow outside drinks.Go, you won't be disappointed.

Jenny S — Google review

Don't compare this zoo to the bigger zoos in America (ex. Bronx, San Diego, Busch Gardens, etc.). As long as you don't compare this to bigger zoos then this zoo is great. Large petting area, which you get to feed all types of animals beside farm animals (ex. giraffes, tortoises, some type of yak, reindeer, camels, water buffalos, etc.), which some are the type that you drop the feed into a tube sort of setup. The largest enclosure (8th of acre, probably less) that I can recall on my visit were the giraffe, tiger, lion, water buffalo, Scottish highland cow, kangaroo, camel, reindeer, some type of sheep and capybara. The one that I enjoyed the most was the giraffe and capybara.Small outdoor eating area; burgers, hotdogs, instead of fries it's tater tots, chicken sandwich, dippin dots ice cream, looked like warm plain donuts, nachos and I can't seem to remember what else were on their menu.If you're checking out my pics then yes the tortoises were mating. I thought to mention this in case you have little ones. One of my little ones was trying to feed them while they were in the act, that is until I noticed, lol.Plenty of parking and if the lot is filled then tothere spill-over parking along designated side of the property.Lastly, the animal safari is separate from the zoo and on the other side of the road.

Dieu H — Google review

My family loves when we have the opportunity to come to Animal Adventure Park. We were there this past Sunday for the Trick-or-Treating and my toddler had so much fun! Thank you all for all that you do for the animals and guests!

Gardens

The Botanic Gardens at Cornell University in Ithaca are internationally renowned for their exquisite gardens and magnificent arboretum. Spanning over 300 acres, the gardens offer a variety of attractions such as an impressive botanical garden, ornamental gardens, and natural areas. The gardens are also popular for public events such as concerts and festivals.

Absolutely beautiful! Everything is labeled which makes it easy to learn about the different plants. The variety is massive, and it's easy to spend hours walking around and enjoying all of the gorgeous paths. There's lots of benches set up along the different paths/areas which is nice also. Lots of parking nearby and in their lot.

K S — Google review

This was such a beautiful place to walk around! It has many amazing gardens and paths. Very kid friendly and very informative to teach kids about all kinds of different plants and flowers! Easy to find, easy to park. You do have to pay to park during the weekday. No entrance fee.

Manda J — Google review

This is one of the most beautiful places in Ithaca. If you’re in the area for a visit, definitely stop by! I was finally able to visit while everything was in bloom and I am so happy I did. So many beautiful flowers, insects, plants, birds, trails, and more!

Gorgeous and wonderful displays. Spend a day and get lost in all the flora. Enjoy massive collections, paths, gardens and tours. There's walks for all different interests, abilities, and folk. Take a day or more and enjoy wondrous displays of nature. (Make sure you head to the dairy bar after for a sweet treat, if that's something you enjoy.)

Nature at its best! When you get to the herb garden, kick off your shoes and connect with Mother Earth! The views and the energy are breath taking

Santiago G — Google review

Beautiful place, you need more than an hour to explore. So give yourself lots of time. They were very helpful at the welcome center knowing the best places to check out during the month we visited. We hiked 1 mile around Beebe lake, seeing 2 waterfalls, crossing foot bridges and we saw some baby geese. It was very calming. There is parking, free on Saturdays and Sundays.

Samantha T — Google review

Beautiful botanical gardens comparable to best NY down state gardens like NYBG, Planting Fields Arboretum, Wave Hill and Bayard Cutting arboretum. Several gardens are located around Nevin Welcome center, my favorite ones were Winter Garden, Herb Garden and Rhododendron collection. Parking here provides opportunity to circle Beebe Lake and check out Triphammer waterfalls from footbridge. Newman arboretum is further down the road and definitely worth visiting, it’s huge and well landscaped. Multiple free parking areas could be found along Arboretum road. Mundy Wildflower garden area located between botanical gardens and arboretum could be skipped if you are short on time (no flowers in mid-summer). Spending 3-4 hours on gardens and arboretum is quite reasonable, but you could also spend whole day exploring…

Mike Z — Google review

Beautiful, well-kept gardens with lots of different plant species. Easily accessible from the parking lot. Be sure to check out the gift shop as well.

Kirk T — Google review

Nice place to visit, see some beautiful landscaping and flowers. We didn't have time to explore all of it, as it is massive.

Large botanic gardens on Cornell campus. Varied individual spaces highlighting many different types and varieties. Lots of paths for walking/running, much of it paved. Lots of free parking once you get past the main visitor center.

Melissa L — Google review

Very nice gardens(especially the rhododendrons). Also a lot of great trees with labels spread throughout.

Andy W — Google review

Lovely botanic garden with seasonal flowers blooming throughout the spring and summer. I love that it's dog friendly.

Warren T — Google review

Beautiful gardens! Smaller than what I expected but still lovely. The campus was great to drive through. The gardens are free and open early / late. My only qualm is that parking isn’t free either. Great gardens otherwise. We spent maybe 30 mins here.

Joan L — Google review

While visiting Ithaca, stopping by the stunning Cornell University is a must! This college has a stunning botanic garden that is free to visit! The entire campus is stunning with nature scattered about the historic buildings. We enjoyed our drive thru the campus to get to the botanic garden. They have a nice sized parking lot & then you get out & venture around. The botanic gardens is free, you just have to pay a small parking lot fee which is $1.50 a hour I think but the system was down when we arrived- so we did not even have to pay for the lot. Lots of stunning plants, flowers & trees to check out. I like how everything was labeled so you do get a learning experience with the beauty. We walked around for about a hour & got to see a LOT. You can easily spend a couple hours here if you pace yourself & take your time. We did not have a lot of time to spend here but enjoyed our visit.

Heather B — Google review

Beautiful gardens with a wide variety of well-tended plants, herbs and flowers.

Gregg S — Google review

This is a lovely garden with so many different parts to enjoy. The historic core revolves around the herb and perennial garden, but don’t miss the arboretum and ponds about a mile away through the woodland wildflowers!

Karl G — Google review

Just an amazing experience. One can spend most of the day wandering the gardens and nearby arboretum lands. Every season is a colorful adventure for the senses.

E&C C — Google review

This place was truly amazing to walk through and very educational. All of the plants and trees were grouped in a theme: winter garden, edible, medicinal, ground cover, etc. There were beautiful trees and then aromatic herbs. It was neat to see what the different plants looked like in their natural state and not an herb bottle. Everything was labeled with common name, scientific name, as well as a description of it and its uses. If you are a true botanical garden fan this is a must see and plan to spend some time here

Jason C — Google review

Gardens are very well maintained and there are plenty of pull-off areas with overlooks and short trails. Huge variety of plants and some wildlife (turtles, fish, birds, frogs). The welcome center is nice and has bathrooms and water.

I searched and acquired a lot more info about this place ... Its a good place to go and study if you think about going ahead with your education. The campus is enormous and beautiful, there's literally a large forest within the school, a hospital and farm for the veterinarian majors, literally a designated section for each major. The campus is pretty diverse, though a large portion is Asians and white. They also have their own art museum and natural history museum free to the public. There's 5 gyms on campus too.In addition, I met my German wife here. A very memorable place.

Taca F — Google review

Mmm, mixed feelings I have about Cornell, hmmm. Beautiful, the campus is, surrounded by nature's embrace. Tranquil atmosphere, perfect for learning, it provides. However, navigate the campus using Apple Maps, I tried. Confusing, the paths were, lost I became. Clear, the directions were not, mmm.Visit the Johnson Museum of Art, you must. Impressive collection, it holds, and panoramic views, it offers. But, hmmm, disappointingly, Apple Maps cannot guide you to the art's heart.Slope Day at Libe Slope, a taste of student life, it gives. Vibrant energy, all around, you can sense. But to find it with Apple Maps, struggle you might.Four and half stars, I give, for Cornell's beauty and learning environment. But if navigate with Apple Maps, prepared to be, hmmm, puzzled you should be.

Ithaca is beautiful and Cornell's architecture is marvellous! The mesmerizing waterfalls, the pretty Fall and the my favourite- snow in and around campus are main attractions. The campus is clean, well connected by TCAT buses and almost every part is wheelchair accessible and has braille. Cornell Lab of Ornithology is a must-visit destination in Ithaca, offering a wonderful experience for nature enthusiasts. The trail system provides varying landscapes, from well-built wooden platforms to scenic dirt trails with viewing platforms overlooking wetlands. Visitors can enjoy birdwatching around the lakes and through peaceful woods, or observe live bird activity at the Cornell bird feeder YouTube cam.

This is must see for any bird lover or nature enthusiast. No dogs or bicycles allowed. An unbelievable multimillion dollar facility, with walking trails and several locations to view the outside from within the building. First floor has exceptional single lens binoculars on wheels that can be moved around the glass viewing area on the first floor. There is a beautiful real hummingbird display of taxidermied authentic birds. There was also a portion of the Paulsen wooden bird egg collection on display. The collection hails over 40 cases, with the Cornell Lab displaying two cases currently. There are feeders set up outside floor to ceiling windows where you can watch the birds. I was fortunate to view a Pileated Woodpecker while there. Magnificent!!

Lynn M — Google review

Incredible trails with a lot to see! No pets allowed so there was no disturbances to the abundant wildlife. The indoor center has a hands on learning lab, a library, and binoculars to check out for use on the trails.

Emerald M — Google review

I went here on a date with my girlfriend and had a lovely time. There is no charge to walk the trails or to enter the visitor center, it is completely donation based. There are telescopes (or whatever they're called) that are free to use from a very nice observation point inside of the center. There is a large pond with many birds and animals to observe from the comfort of inside the visitor center. We saw a Heron fishing. There is not a whole lot to do inside the center other than observing birds but there is a nice cozy library that has great material if you want to do research and there is bathrooms and a small giftshop. It's kid-friendly but young kids might get bored after a short time. The lady at the front desk was very kind and knowledgeable. She offered us binoculars to borrow for free as we walked around the trails. There are many great photo opportunities and the trails are in great condition. Great for running or for pushing a stroller. We saw a bunch of beaver teeth marks on felled trees and also their beaver house. It's a really nice way to spend a few hours.

S — Google review

They have very nice telescopes around the building to watch the birds in the forest - very nice that they also put up protective wires on the large windows as a way to protect the birds from the glass. Everything is completely free to view, three stories and a gift shop on the first floor if you're interested. Inside, besides the large windows for viewing the wild birds, there is a small interactive learning exhibit for kids to play with, along with plenty of text for those interested in reading more. They have a few bird specimens in drawers with facts. There is also a theater room where they play short bird documentaries on loop. Upper floor had a large library. Only criticism is I really wish the gift shop had postcards!

Nunia B — Google review

Such a beautiful place. Birds, wildlife, and nature.

The settings of the facility is wooded surroundings near a small lake and hiking trails. Enjoyable place to visit with a glassed area looking out onto a pond for viewing of birds.

Rodney — Google review

Important place for birders, especially if one follows Merlin, the bird app. This center has done more for bird research than any other such place. The trail itself is fairly short but has diverse bird species present. Though we were there during the hottest part of the day, we still managed to find a number of birds.

Anand K — Google review

Had a wonderful visit here! The building has lots of interesting exhibits and a small gift shop. Lots of trails to walk through with plenty of benches throughout to watch birds. The building is open 10am-4pm Tuesdays-Sundays but trails are open from dusk to dawn. If you come during lab hours, you can borrow binoculars for your walk! Yvette was incredibly helpful in guiding us through how to use them and explaining the park grounds.Free parking and accessible facilities. Bathrooms are very clean. There’s a water fountain and free wifi available here!

Stephanie — Google review

Yet another excellent natural site in Ithaca. The trail system varies, and is sometimes well-built wooden platforms, or packed dirt trails. The trail itself is scenic, with many viewing platforms to sit and enjoy the wetlands. The ornithology lab is also worth swinging into, and has a wonderful viewing area with chairs. The viewing area is in front of massive windows, so you feel as if you are practically on the water. This area truly has something for many age groups.

Charles H — Google review

First time the kids got to experience bird watching with binoculars. Walked around the pond and saw lots of diff birds. Lots of shade on the trail, which was mostly wood chips and mulch. The lab itself is really neat with a huge mural with birds on all the continents. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Sarah N — Google review

A wonderful experience. If you watch the Cornell bird feeder YouTube cam, you can see it live here. The trails around the lakes and through the woods are peaceful. Unless you’re avid at bird watching, most of your bird viewing will be on the lake or at the feeder cam. The facility itself is amazing and seemingly one of a kind. A must-see when in the area.

Kevin V — Google review

I have been enjoying the bird sanctuary for ten years now. It is one of the most beautiful walking trails in the area where you can see such a variety of plants and animal life, anytime of the year. The trails and walkways are always well maintained and accessible to people of all mobility levels.

Angelique M — Google review

The visit was fun, mostly because my wife, daughter and I have been using the Merlin app to identify birds. Cornell Lab designed the app and when we found out the Lab was near where we were vacationing - we HAD to visit. It made for a perfect activity to add to the itinerary of our wonderful visit to Ithaca. If you’re a bird enthusiast… highly recommended. (Couple this with the Farmer’s Market and a State Park!)

Kevin K — Google review

This is a great experience for everyone in the family. The barked trails around the lab make for easy and enjoyable walks through a variety of habitats. The gallery has wonderful drawings and exhibits. If you are into bird calls, check out the sound lab to hear the unique calls of many popular birds. My favorite part was the film room where you can select a wide variety of videos to watch. The discovery videos are amazing. Check out the white board in the lobby with a list of recent bird sightings.

Greg K — Google review

On the heaviest snow day of the year so far, we attended a one-hour indoor guided tour of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. Our guide was excellent as he explained the founding of the lab and also many of the paintings and murals. Many of the paintings tell a fascinating story of the painter (see photos and the description attached below). We then took a short hike through well marked trails and managed to see quite a few different birds despite the cold. Definitely recommended if you are visiting Ithaca.

William H — Google review

Beautiful. I love walking the trails , bring your binoculars!

Shezan M — Google review

Awesome, a truly great day walking in nature. The temperature was nice. There was no precipitation nor bugs the whole time. Easy to become one with nature.

Kevin P — Google review

Beautiful site. You can sign out binoculars and enjoy sitting at a viewing area to watch birds, or take to their trails. Interesting exhibits inside as well.

Sue P — Google review

Easy walking trails but could be marked better. There are nap boards but they are a little confusing since the trails aren't marked. Besides that, they are well maintained and it's a beautiful area with multiple observation areas and bridges to go over the wetlands. Cool viewing area from inside the building, as well as some neat educational displays. Also inside the building, you can see where their YouTube Live is streaming the bird feeders.

Greek Peak Mountain Resort is a ski resort located in the town of Greece, New York. It features slopes for skiing, snowboarding, and tubing. There is an indoor water park and a spa on site as well as lodging and dining options.

This was my our first time visiting this resorts and let just say that we were totally blown away!!The rooms where vary spacious and they had everything that we needed for our 4 day excursion. The only thing I think that needs to be updated are the beds. The upstairs suite where we where staying had a queen size bed, and we found it rather to fall a sleep. If all of there rooms had king size beds that would be perfect.Despite the small bed we really enjoyed our stay and we plan on going back some time soon.

We rented the Panorama and we were pleasantly surprised that it was all remodeled with beautiful decor and 4 bedrooms with 4 full bathrooms, a full new kitchen and a great patio. The mountain offered a wide range of fun activities so we didn't need to leave the resort. Zip lining through the mountain, Waterpark was big enough for the whole family to enjoy but small enough to keep an eye on everyone. There's a small lakefront with soft sand and just enough swim are to enjoy. The mountain coaster was awesome!!Definitely recommend this place.

We only went on the mountain coaster, and while that was extremely fun and a really beautiful experience, it is overpriced. I am rating 5 stars because I do recommend the experience, but they should really consider lowering the price by even 5 dollars.

I booked a "Mom to Be Massage" they had absolutely NO accommodations for a prenatal massage, the massage therapist had no suggestions on how to make it more comfortable, when she asked if pressure was good I expressed it wasn't and she continues to pinch/barely apply any pressure. I had originally booked a 80 minute after 10 minutes I said I could only do a 50 minute massage- she ended the massage at 43 minutes. It was awful I left more sore than arriving. I was VERY disappointed in the spa services.

We have stayed at and skied Greek Peak for years. And we will continue for many more. The lodge provides an Adirondack feel but offers Starbucks coffee and a spa. We know of serval family that go annually because it so perfect to get away and keep everyone busy. Great place to enjoy all that winter offers or stay inside and snuggle by the fire.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel a few weekends ago for my two sons baseball tournament. After the day was over the boys wanted to go to the pool and relax. Once they got there, they saw the water park and they immediately wanted to go and do the slides and the wave pool. I had issues with purchasing the online tickets but the manager lauren was amazing! Went a conference there, was held in "The Tent" Saturday was ok but when the wind blows you cannot hear because the window shook so much. Sunday it was 41 outside and 49 in the tent even with the heat set up to 80.

First time with family. Great location with great amenities. Rooms are spacious as standalone, we got the cedar suite and it was amazing. Slopes are a shuttle away 2-3 mins drive. They have a great tuning/rental area, slopes are well groomed. Wish it was more packed or snow making despite natural snowfall. Kids had a blast as first time skiers. Prices are absolutely fair.

Nice place to get away. Hotel rooms are like going back to year 2001. 32 inch TV, DVD player. Elevator display surely will put you back in some prehistoric times. Overpriced for what you get. Driveway around the parking is a dirt road with large and numerous potholes, which is such a turn off. Forget about your white shoes.

Family reunion. Lots of laughs. Sadness for 4 we have lost. Had reunion Greek Peak 2018. Great place to have it. Accommodates adults and kids without necessity of finding things to do.

My new favorite family resort. From tubing, mountain coaster, water park, and great skiing for even these north east conditions. I wish this place great success but also hope they don’t get crowded like mountains of i87

Great experience! All the food is very expensive, but if you bring your own snacks for your kids, you will be in good shape. Other than that the waterpark experience and hot tub is A1.

Tashea C — Google review

The room was great but definitely needed some updates, food was amazing and staff was extremely helpful. The views are amazing and the water park was great fun for the kids.

Right across the ski place. Suites were all clean, good repair, solid wood furnishings and cabin look. Staff was super friendly. Steak restaurant was nice, the hot tub in the indoor Waterpark was awesome for the adults in our party of 26. And the little mini Starbucks in the lobby was a hit too. Would def go back.

What a Gem of a location. Hosted a Real Estate Conference with 35 attendees. Ambiance, service and food were excellent.Location is easily accessible to major highway and the Lodge was beautiful. Nice rooms, with "Lodgey" decor and fireplaces was a really nice touch.Free shuttle transportation to Greek Peak Ski Mountain, with super friendly staff (shout to Shannon). Special thanks to Gina and Kyla for making our event successful.

We visited Trax for the brunch on Father's Day. Not too busy. Horrible service. Food not great. After finally getting waited on. It took forever to get our drinks. And never got a coffee re-fill. Ordered cinnamon pancakes, but received french toast. Took them back. Finally, he got the pancakes after everyone else was done eating and ready to ditch the joint. The bloody Mary was delish and wanted a second one, but never saw the waitress again until she brought the bill. She did take the pancakes off of the bill, buy it was too late to eat them when we finally received them. And tell a hungry 8yr old that she had to eat off everyone else's plates. Horrible and will never go back. I can't even imagine how bad it is when it's busy. But maybe that's why it's not busy.

Jaqueline H — Google review

My son loved it, he enjoyed the indoor water park, the sledding and he really liked the chicken tenders at the steakhouse. It's a good place to go for a short weekend trip. There is plenty to do for all ages.

Rental bikes are reasonable, the worker showed up late delaying our morning, but for my first downhill mtb experience this was a decent place to learn, the trails on the green were a little washed out even more washed on the tech trails but again i cant compare to anywhere else. Nonethe less the place was not to croweded and met some real cool people.

No limits water paradise for a nine year old. Grandma (me) did my first water slide. The adjoining arcade gave long play times for each turn, and the burgers tasted fine after hours of water play. We had a great day!

A fun place to bring the kids for an afternoon.Short story: our kids loved it and it was worth it for us. Nothing especially stand out about it, but was perfect for our afternoon trip.Long story: We went on a Thursday afternoon (4pm-8pm). My 5yo and 2.5yo boys loved it. The kiddie pool wasn’t open at first, they said due to short staffing, but after a little bit it opened up and was open until about 7pm. Luckily he did great on the bigger kid area, but it wasn’t busy. If there were a lot of bigger kids running around on it, he might not have done as well with it.There are 4 larger slides: 2 that required being 42” or taller (they advised adults not to ride these because I would probably hit my head…lol), a larger one that required a tube that you could ride single or double and required being at least 42”, and the fourth required being at least 48” tall. The wave pool was nice enough, there’s a pool and a hot tub that are indoor/outdoor that are fun.The food was classic theme park quality, but we expected it and didn’t mind. I paid $12 for 4 chicken tenders, a soda and fries-which isn’t too bad in my opinion. There are also a few other restaurants nearby that we didn’t try.We dried off and ended the night with a half hour in the small arcade, which was a fun extra activity.Overall not a bad place, fun for kids, and we would come back.

A pretty nice indoor water park, not so big but good enough for kids from 6 months to 8-9 old to have fun. I wouldn’t say older kids because of limited adventurous water rides. Tickets not very comparably for playing adult or kids over 42 inches $42 compared to six flag resort at about $50 but more luxury rides and options. But non-playing adult is only $18. One specialty worth mentioning is their outdoor heated pool which is awesome during winter time and hot spring (smaller size)Also got arcade games available. Food is average pricing but for hamburger is only bread and beef patty, no lettuce, pickle, tomato or anything.

Chloe J — Google review

Great time had by everyone! Waterparks offers many play area options, slides, water basketball, wave pool as well as dining. This is a great addition to a ski trip. You can even swim outside when it’s cold or enjoy the hot tub after skiing.

Jenn T — Google review

Perfect for parents wanting to relax while their young ones play....my daughter is almost 6 and nephew 10, perfect for them. My son came when he was 14 and liked it but I wouldn't say kids older than him would enjoy it as much since it's small and rides are for smaller kids mostly.

State park

Nature & Parks

Fillmore Glen State Park is a picturesque destination for camping, hiking, and fishing. The park features a densely wooded area surrounding a gorge, with stunning cascades and waterfalls such as Cowsheds Falls, Dalibarda Falls, Upper Pinnacle Falls, and Lower Pinnacle Falls. While the initial climb to reach the gorge may be steep, the trail through it is relatively flat and easy to navigate.

Fillmore Glen State Park is a tranquil retreat nestled in the heart of New York’s Finger Lakes region. This state park is an oasis of cool, dense woods crowding into a long, narrow gorge, offering visitors a chance to escape into nature’s embrace. The park’s hiking trails wind through unique geological formations and provide spectacular views, including the sight of five stunning waterfalls and a botanically rich glen. With amenities like 60 campsites, a stream-fed swimming pool, and fishing in the Owasco Lake inlet, Fillmore Glen State Park is perfect for both adventure seekers and those looking to relax. Whether you’re setting up camp, taking a refreshing swim, or exploring the rugged beauty of the gorge, this park is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the peaceful side of the Empire State.

Nice park with gorge ,waterfalls ,and a natural swimming pool. (Pool not open as yet but I see it will be very soon). Good bathhouse with dedicated dish wash area. Lots of hilly trails to hike and beautiful sights . Ten electric lots that are very roomy, paved, and flat .

Todd C — Google review

The trails and waterfalls are beautiful. Well worth a bit of hiking. The road to the upper area is extremely rough so be warned. The Cowshed Falls are a must see. The camping is open field right on top of each other at the road's edge.

Michael M — Google review

The park in itself is very well maintained and the restrooms are clean even for my OCD standards (as clean as you can get at a state park, don’t get picky). The park rangers are super friendly and helpful. Now for the cons of this location. The road is right next to it so you can hear traffic at all hours of the day and that was a mood killer for us. A lot of loud trucks would pass by honking at hours that were beyond us. There’s also a school right next door that had functions on their field and were super loud even past 9 pm on weekdays. I don’t know about you but I go camping to disconnect, so having all this noise pollution took away from the experience. The water falls that are within hiking distance of the park are stunning and worth the walk.We stayed on site 54 and I wouldn’t recommend it if it’s raining because the sun doesn’t hit it so it never dries it gets really muddy.Overall had a good time but I’d rather explore another park than come back here.

This is a nice small town state park. We have a 35 foot 5th wheel and we were a little too big for the park. We were able to get around OK but there are some.low hanging branches and we had to go slow to maneuver around. It was nice to have a convenience store/gas station/subway restaurant across the street. We did the drive up to the dam and walked partner the trail and saw the falls. We had our dog with us and he was allowed to all parts of the park.

Nice small quiet little state park. Great hiking trails, swimming area in the creek. Campground has 8 electric sites and can fit our 32ft fifth wheel. Big level sites. Warning big rig weight limit may not allow you across the bridge for electric sites 9 ton limit. Clean bathrooms and showers. They do allow tents. 15 mile drive to Dryden rail trail for a nice bike ride and ice cream

The trail through the glen is a hidden gem. Very much reminds me of Watkins Glen. On this cloudy and rainy Saturday I had the glen all to myself. The fall colors and stream through the glen were beautiful.

Chris V — Google review

Fillmore Glen State Park is a very nice state park. The best part of the park is hiking the gorge trail. It has beautiful scenery, picturesque waterfalls, and is nice and cool on a summer day. The gorge trail is a moderate hike, with few challenging spots. If you are just hiking the gorge trail it is a 2.5 mile out and back hike. The trails around the gorge are nice, but don’t offer the same beauty that the gorge trail does. Compared to other similar NY State Parks like Watkins Glen, this trail is easy and much less crowded. Parking here for day use is easy. There are campsites in the park and they looked nice. Add this hike to the list of the most gorgeous places in Central New York.

Ryan M — Google review

Found this park after asking a local for a good place to swim. The day was hot, and it was a perfect escape from the heat. The swimming hole was clean, shady and refreshing, with lifeguards present. Bathrooms very clean. The water is cold! Although we did not stay there, the campground also looked clean and pleasant.

Elizabeth Z — Google review

This was my first time visiting and it's such a beautiful state park! Only 8 dollars to get in for the day. They have three main trails, the Gorge Trail, the North Rim Trail and the South Rim Trail. We walked the Gorge Trail and looped to the North Rim Trail. Both together was about 5.77 miles. I have two little ones and they were able to make it in about three hours. There are a lot of stairs and muddy areas, but the views during and at the end are absolutely worth the work you put in. I would recommend over and over.

Felisha F — Google review

Fillmore Glen State Park is an absolute treasure near Moravia, NY. There are multiple trails, but the gorge trail seems to be the most popular. There are beautiful views, especially of the multiple falls and bridges. There are sections that can get pretty slippery when wet, so proper footwear is recommended. I would consider the trails to be considered more moderate than easy with some significant elevation changes.

Megan M — Google review

Amazing hikes and beautiful views around every corner. Planned a last minute trip and was blown away by how gorgeous this park was. The camping was level and easy to access. I loved driving through the creek. Saw a wedding and a few soccer matches. Quite a busy park when I was there early autumn.

Jo K — Google review

A brief end of summer getaway. The campground is small but very nice. If you are tenting, I recommend sites 60, 43, 42, 36. Take a look at the map and stay away from the road 🙂 sites have a fire ring and table. Anyone with a rig, sites small but manageable. The bathhouses and restrooms are some of the cleanest and updated I've seen in the NY state park system. Very well maintained trails. Over 7 miles of trails to explore. Download the NYS park app and listen to the audio tour while you are there. Interesting facts and very well done on the history of the 13th president of the USA. The glen is very nice. Cascades and waterfalls. Plenty of places to rest on benches and picnic tables. There is a swimming area but was drained when I visited. Campground staff very friendly and so were the campers. Would recommend this area especially if you are new to camping and like to be close to a town and/or non camp food. Dunkin and subway right across the street. Very nice if you are staying for multiple days.

Laura S — Google review

This is a beautiful park! We were on a road trip when we decided to stop, but we are so glad we did! We hiked the Gorge trail. The trail is well maintained and obvious where you should be.The trail follows the creek through the gorge and provides beautiful views of the interesting creek bed, mini waterfalls, and a few larger waterfalls. Please note that there is a long set of stairs near the beginning of the trail that takes you up an incline of a little over 100 feet. The trail after that is mostly flat, but there are smaller sets of stairs along the path going up or down. The trail crisscrosses the creek several times on the path using bridges. The path is mostly a dirt path, but there are some rock covered areas. If you are in the Ithaca, NY area, I highly recommend taking the time to visit this park!

Sharon C — Google review

If you like nature and the awe-inspiring sights she has to offer, you will love this place! Lots to see as you hike this trail. You will definitely appreciate the power of water as you visualize its power to transform landscapes. You will be transform back thousands of years as you imagine what the land might have looked like then. Highly recommended place to visit. There is also a 'beach' to swim in just before you enter the gorge.

Joshua M — Google review

Temp drops several degrees in the Gorge- refreshing in the summer! Great hike, I'd say medium difficulty, or less, depending - definitely not handicapped accessible. Bring your suit if you want to chill in the crystal clear flowing water!

Mike M — Google review

Thise who want to see the water can take the gorge trail. Replica cabin is also on site with some cool artifacts from Fillmore’s time. Plenty of room for camping and there’s a swimming hole as well right before take the gorge trail.

Rohit R — Google review

Great park for camping and hiking. 2 trails, north and south rim, its just over 2.5 miles for the loop, take you to top of gorge where you will find a damn and some great views. If you take the south rim trail, you will have to walk on the road near the top for a little bit to get back on the trail to the top. You will know when bc the trail stops lol. Also a few trails like the gorge, 1.3 mile, and waterfall loop trail, about half mile, are great hikes if you're with pets or small children.

Scott D — Google review

Very nice park. Washrooms were always clean and tidy. Showers were too. There is a dish washing station in each of the washrooms. There of a play ground for the kids. Electric sites were paved and level. The hiking trails were very well marked plenty of trail blazers. Several trails to choose from that were easy enough for us amateurs to tackle. There are different events going on at the park , we lucked out for a huge car show on the Labour Day weekend (Sunday) that had a ton of beautiful cars to view. Would definitely come back again.

Frank I — Google review

Fantastic park, the cabins were awesome and reasonably priced. Lots of things to keep the kids busy including the swimming hole (which opened early due to heat, so thanks for that!), the playground and of course the glen itself. Quiet campground, clean bathrooms and friendly staff. We will be back for sure.

Museum

Sights & Landmarks

The Harriet Tubman Home Museum is the former residence of a renowned abolitionist who was born into slavery but later became an activist. She rescued numerous enslaved individuals through her involvement in the Underground Railroad, with 70 people being freed under her leadership across 13 missions. The museum offers an intriguing insight into this important aspect of American history and is a must-see for anyone interested in learning about the struggles faced by slaves and those fighting for their freedom.

I really wanted to learn more about Harriet Tubman. Her story is truly one of faith, heartbreak, and perseverance. It was a wonderful tour and was very informative. I learned so much more about this magnificent woman. I also believe we had a "visitor" during the tour inside one of the property homes.

Jenn S — Google review

Words cannot adequately describe how wonderful this experience was. Highly recommend. Paul is a fantastic storyteller and walks you through her amazing life. Allow time to thoroughly enjoy this. His presentation and then the walk through of the home took approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours and it was worth it. I learned so much and the space felt very honoring. Make time to visit ABC hear the fulness of Harriet’s story.

Michelle B — Google review

Harriet Tubman has been my hero since grade school. Seeing where she lived and hearing about her extraordinary life was amazing. Paul, the tour guide goes above and beyond to tell her story. Thank you Paul, for believing in making her story known to others. She was a truly a treasure.

Loved touring the Harriet Tubman Home grounds. Grateful to have had this experience. Our docent was charismatic and knowledgeable, so glad I was able to be in her tour group. I do recommend planing ahead and reserving your tour date and time. Took over 1.5 hours for me to finish the tour and take a walk by the grounds.

Rachelle E — Google review

The small exhibition in the visitors center starts coming to life when your host starts telling about Mrs. Tubman / Davids. The host could easily starts his own cabaret show ;-) His knowledge about the life of Mrs. Tubman / Davids, is excellent. His storytelling is one of a kind and really worth your time. So make sure you are there a bit before the tour starts, so you can walk around yourself in the visitor center. Because the tour is a seated event in front of a long time line.Don’t miss this opportunity!!!

Miriam M — Google review

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Harriet Tubman home and museum! They have tours at 10 am and 2 pm. The tour was $7/adult and lasted approximately 2 hours. Very informative, and Reverend Carter was extremely knowledgeable and gave an excellent tour.4 stars because we would have liked to see more of the Harriet Tubman home specifically, but it was under renovations when we visited.

Abigail K — Google review

Absolutely worth a visit. Incredibly engaging and informative presentation by Rev. Paul Gordon Carter - he'll captivate you with his storytelling style and educate you without a single yawn. Very few people have this gift!

Paul was the best story teller. I thought I knew a lot about Harriet Tubman, but I learned so much. She was an incredible person.

Colleen C — Google review

This was like stepping back in history. Harriet Tubman was such an amazing woman. To see where she lived was a great moment. We could only see the outside of the house and barn, but they also have a wonderful center and a tour guide who tells the history very well. Definitely worth going.

Kate W — Google review

We stopped by while driving from Canada and so we showed up late. Just 10min before the museum building was closing. Was still allowed to go in even with our little doggy. Friendly people. The houses outside can be viewed after the museum closes but the inside of the homes is being renovated. We only got to see the outside of the homes but it was still a great experience to be able to see where history happened.

Tom A — Google review

This is an important historical site which has substantial value. It’s still being developed so there isn’t a whole lot to see. Major kudos to the Reverend who is doing all the workand has done for 34 years. The 45 minute presentation about Harriet Tubman could be much better if the presenter were more dignified and respectful of the enormous sacrifice she made. Too often there were silly interludes and unfortunate asides that distracted me from the seriousness of Harriet Tubman’s life and accomplishments.

Cheryl H — Google review

Awesome experience. We were driving through Arburn, NY, headed to Canada. We had no idea we were going to pass through this town. What an awesome experience and well worth the stop. Great part of history and the knowledge you gain from just reading what they have available to read. Go, go now, you will not be disappointed.

Will X — Google review

This was a moving experience, a good time to reflect on the life of Harriet Tubman and all her work, nursing, military service, underground railroad, business owner. The list is longer than many realize. Paul, who gives the tour, and has given the tour for over 30 years, is wonderful in bringing Harriet Tubman to life. To say he was informative is an understatement. Thank you. Everyone should visit here, and give some thought....

Lisa S — Google review

Forever grateful to the people that keep this tour running. It is key to note that this experience is funded and maintained by a church. There is no state support. Any criticisms anyone has about staffing and tour times should start there first. The tour is phenomenal, though small and in transition, and packed with information about one of the greatest contributors to American history. Just to be in a space where Harriet spent time is incredible. I can't wait to return when the home has been restored.

Rox F — Google review

An amazing woman, began as a slave, was a true American hero, recognized by the U.S. Government! Learned so much. Great presentation.

Penny H — Google review

If you are on a roadtrip through New England you definitely need to stop at Harriet Tubman House. The couple who tells the story about Harriet is super nice. Also be aware of the visiting time. First he will tell you about Harriets biography in an extraordinary way of storytelling! It was an experience we wont forget. After she will show you around the property and the house. Put it on your To-See-List!

Jennifer W — Google review

Paul's presentation of Harriet Tubman Davis's life was nothing short of extraordinary. By immersing himself in Tubman's world, he transported the audience into her remarkable journey, vividly bringing to life her experiences and struggles. His ability to change his voice and employ expressive body language effectively dramatized the story, making it feel like a live, immersive cinematic experience rather than a typical lecture. The passion and depth Paul infused into his portrayal created a captivating atmosphere that held the audience's attention from beginning to end. Every moment of the presentation felt personal and immediate, as though the audience was not just learning about Tubman but walking alongside her through her trials and triumphs. It was an educational experience that left everyone not only informed but deeply moved. In capturing the essence of Harriet Tubman-Davis, Paul highlighted her phenomenal strength and resilience with authenticity and respect. This presentation was a masterful blend of storytelling and performance, offering an enriching experience that surpassed even the most compelling film.

Shawnica S — Google review

I truly enjoyed the visit to this historical site. The tour guide shared many interesting facts about Mother Harriet’s life and had us captivated as well as laughing at some of the stories. The life of Harriet Tubman was astounding and inspiring; but also a grave reminder of the history that plagues this nation. We were not able to enter one of the buildings as it is being repaired. A second building we were able to partially enter. The visitor center contained a timeline of her life and other information related to the abolitionist movement and the civil war. Even though we couldn’t enter all of the buildings, it was well worth the visit. And I can’t wait to return after some of the repairs take place.

There is so much to learn here! This historic location deserves so much more praise and support than it receives! My classmates and I from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) visited this site as a part of a week-long research visit through Central New York. Our class was focused on the history of social activism in the 19th century, especially in the Abolition and Women’s Suffrage movements. Considering Harriet’s contributions to both of these social movements, let’s just say that it would be an understatement to say that our experience here was special. Harriet Tubman Davis does not get the credit she deserves! Today, we can help to rectify that injustice by visiting and supporting this well-preserved/restored location. To everyone who contributes to the operation of this site and the preservation of this powerful woman’s story, on behalf of UTSA, thank you so very much.

Incredible venue! I saw The Front Bottoms perform here on May 25th. The food was very fair priced and delicious! Just $15 for a pulled pork sandwich and two sides. For a concert venue I consider that a steal. And the two drinks I ordered were also fairly priced! $8 for a single shot of vodka drink and $11 for a double shot drink. Not bad at all. My ticket for The Front Bottoms with fees was only around $40 with tax and convenience fees which is almost unheard of now! I was only a little over an hour early to wait by the stage and ended up being only 4/5 rows from the front of the pit! I was impressed with the professionalism and attentiveness of the staff. This was my first time here but I’ll definitely be returning for another concert again!

We visited the day we were flying out to come home so we were kind of restricted in what we could do but the views were awesome. It would be a regular haunt for me if I were a local, I think. We ate at the cafe, and the food was great. I picked up some fudge from the general store: one type was butterscotch, just like my mom used to make for me when I was a little boy. I have had that in decades, literally. It was terrific!

Always look forward to our annual visit. Beautiful grounds and so much to do. Enjoyed a glass of hard cider, came home with an apple pie, wine and some fresh apples.

1911 is perfect for a day drip (at least from Rochester!) I usually stay away in the fall because of how crowded it can get with apple picking but I love just sitting outside with a cider flight in spring and summer. They also have fun cocktails and good food!

It’s a perfect day out for apple lovers!

Went to enjoy the solar eclipse event. The event of the eclipse was enjoyable with the awesome beer! Very disappointed with the food arrangements. Couldn't eat until 4pm when the event started at 2pm. There was a huge amount of people here to start at 4pm buffet style. Didn't stay due to wanted to eat and drink with the viewing of the eclipse. Which made it more disappointing was people brought in outside food which clearly stated no outside food upon entering. When redeeming tickets was told 2pm, around 2pm, a little after 2pm, just wanted food to enjoy sitting with friends.

We hosted my bridal shower here last weekend and it was amazing! The food was so good, the cafe was beautiful and Travis was a great host. Thank you so much!

Beak & Skiff is amazing! This orchard transformed from a tiny general store and orchard to an awesome destination whenever I visit the area. They still have great apples and picking, but there are various food and drink options (e.g. hard cider) as well as activities for kids and considerably more retail. Highly recommend spending an afternoon here during the Fall season.

We went to Beak N Skiff on Sunday 10/20 and we had a blast. We really enjoyed the farm animals that Mad Farms brought for everyone to enjoy! It was the perfect touch and gave everyone so much serotonin. It was truly such a good experience. Good food, good drinks, good people<3

Amazing always! Great apples, fair prices. The concert series has been amazing. I can’t believe I got to see fleet foxes play at an AppleOrchard. A plus to whoever on your team handles events. Amazing job.

It's a fun place to have a family outing, but it's important to check the weather forecast. Mostly outdoor activities, but there is cider tasting indoors. You can take a short tractor ride to the apple orchard to pick apples. The apples that you pick are weighed when you get back, and you pay a very reasonable US$1.60 per lb for the apples picked. There is a cafe on site, and they sell warm cider and yummy apple cider doughnuts and also comfort food. It's a relaxing day at the Apple & Skiff Hill Apple Orchard. There is ample parking available.

From picking apples, riding the wagon to the fields and sampling their whiskey/bourbons, it was indeed a great day. The baked goods are amazing. The general store has something for everyone. Plenty of seating outside. Don't let the long lines fool ya, they serve everyone in a timely matter. I make it a point to come here every year and you should too !

My first experience at Beak & Skiff was for a Fleet Foxes concert, so this review is focused on B&S as a venue. Aside from Fleet Foxes being a great band live, the venue itself was clean, organized, and safe. There was clear security and medical staff presence as well as employees and the sheriff to direct traffic. They serve their own cider and food, both reasonably priced. There is plenty of space on the hill to place lawn chairs, but you can also float around and stand closer to the stage if preferred. The size of the crowd will vary depending on the headliner, but expect some delays getting into the venue. Overall, a great experience!

We love buying this cider in the stores but this was our first time to the actual cidery! Everything was great. I just wish they told us about the reward apple points before we had already spent money in two other buildings. (Sign up for them, even if you don't plan on going back. They are worth it for the day. You will easily spend enough to get some money off)Spirt flight:Bourbon 🤢Candy corn ⭐️⭐️⭐️🍸Honeycrisp⭐️⭐️⭐️Blueberry ⭐️⭐️⭐️Orange Creamsicle 🤢Bourbon cream whiskey ⭐️⭐️⭐️🥃

I attended Brothers Osborne concert - 5/27/24, they were amazing. I checked handicapped parking before found some close to the stage - it was blocked off. Made to park in grass/gravel lot, wheelchair wasn't able to move easy. This was not acceptable - if you plan on more concerts get your parking lot paved. It willbe easier on all attending. Stopped for dinner - which was good and priced well. Saw security guard at the entrance gate asked if people with special needs would be able to go in before, he told us everyone goes in at once. Staff was trying to be accommodating, but had their hands tied - couldn't even take gator into the field.Your website says your ADA accessible, I saw very little. What is more troubling is your staff when I called before the concert said there would be no issues. I fell you are misleading your ADA compliance. You may want to look at a different location for the stage.

Exceptional spot to see music you love: I drove four hours from NJ for Gregory Alan Isakov and would have travelled twice as far and paid twice as much for the experience. Gorgeous layout and lush views, with ample drink tents and plenty of spots to explore, including good grub, fine merch, and a general store.Sufficient bathrooms and generally clean grounds with polite and respectful staff. The chill crowd of all ages stuck mostly to the lawn (with blankets and chairs ok), and so there was plenty of room to stand close to the stage. Hard to believe general admission could get you that close! VIP parking was reasonably priced and made a difference. Would return in a heartbeat.

My husband and I went twice now for concerts and had a great time. The food was delicious and for a good price. They even have veggie burgers and gluten free hamburger buns. Their bathrooms are kept clean. The concert experience was wonderful. You can sit back in a chair if you bring one, or stand up near the stage. The only part we did not like was the parking experience. Getting out was difficult and took a while. We would return for apple picking season, and again for a concert. Thank you Beak & Skiff! 🍎

My recent visit to Beak and Skiff was nothing short of a quintessential fall experience. From the moment we arrived, the aroma of freshly baked donuts and pies wafted through the air.The orchard offers a variety of activities suitable for all ages. The hayrides provided a scenic tour of the fall surroundings, and the petting zoo added a touch of charm that delighted both kids and adults. It's the perfect destination for families seeking a fun-filled autumn day.The tasting room was a highlight, featuring house-made cocktails and ciders. As for the freshly baked treats, the donuts were a true indulgence.Beak and Skiff provides the perfect backdrop for a day of seasonal fun. I highly recommend it as a must-visit destination for anyone looking to embrace the spirit of autumn.

Fort Ontario State Historic Site is a 19th-century fortress with an intriguing star-shaped design. It houses military structures and walls, all of which offer breathtaking views of Lake Ontario. The site is well-preserved, and the exhibitions showcasing period relics narrate the area's rich history. Besides, historians dressed in traditional apparel offer insights about the soldiers' lives stationed here over many years. A nominal admission fee applies to visitors, but it's worth every penny given the experience on offer.

Love local history! I work nearby and always wanted to check this place out - so happy we finally did!Admission prices are reasonable. Staff are dressed in period attire and very informative. Buildings are staged, have informational videos and the outside is a beautiful walk, below and above.

Very well maintained fort. The staff was dressed in period clothing and helpful.Very interesting history and a fun self guided tour. Great for the entire family and have a picnic in the park.

If you're a history buff, this is a neat place to spend a couple hours wandering around. The staff/ volunteers were dressed in Civil War period clothing and were knowledgeable and helpful in answering questions about the fort. There was a musket demonstration, and visitors have access to most of the buildings and areas. If there is a gift shop, it was not open the day we were there visiting. There is a historical cemetery behind the fort dating back to 1776/1783. Was sombering to see gravestones of soldiers who lost their lives for their country.Overall it was interesting to see the long and varied history of this fort.

A very interesting place to visit if history is your thing. The fort and grounds are very well kept and the displays of period artifacts tell the story of the many layers of history which occurred here. The historians dressed in period clothing were very knowledgeable and provided insight into the lives of the troops stationed here over the years. Lake Ontario provides a stunning backdrop to the area as well. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. There is a minimal charge for visitors but the experience is well worth it.

The gentlemen inside the fort are so passionate about the history of this fort which is wonderful! Easily spend an hour exploring the fort and then another half hr exploring the grounds around.

Great place to be with kids and family. It’s a small Historic fort surrounded by Lake Ontario, a baseball park and a huge playground. Tickets are $4 and kids under 12 are free

Amazing historical site. The volunteers and staff are all history junkies and will be able to answer almost any questions regarding the facilities. I had a wonderful experience climbing the ramparts and exploring the underground structures. Some of the buildings are currently undergoing renovations, but the Fort is worth visiting for the conversations alone. Highly recommended for history junkies.

Unique star-shaped fort set on beautiful open water location. Plenty of history, many benches on the grounds. Maybe hospital legacy endures with the medical establishments nearby.

This is a great experience for the history buff. One could easily spend a couple of hours wandering around the old fort. There are some pretty great views from the tops of the ramparts around the fort of Lake Ontario. Even my 14 year old son had fun checking out all the displays in each of the buildings. We arrived late in the day, not long before close but were told if we came earlier there would be more re-enactments throughout the day and the staff we spoke to was very knowledgeable about the fort and it’s history.

The history of this area is amazing and beautiful. The fort has gone through many stages over hundreds of years, including providing refuge to almost 1,000 jewish people escaping during WWII. Highly recommend

Thelma B — Google review

The reenactment staff was extremely knowledgeable. I love history this was very informative. I had no clue almost 1000 people were brought here in 1945 from Italy that were fleeing German occupied countries. I definitely recommend. If I could I would give it 1000 stars.

Beautiful, well kept histroic site. You can walk around the outside and the cemetery for free (no parking charges either). Or enter the fort to tour 3 structures and underground areas for $4 (children 12 and under are free). Several workers were available to give information or ask questions.

Very interesting part of our history!! Enjoyed every moment we were there. The education was amazing as was the view and upkeep of the grounds!

Fun little taste of history that can be covered in an hour or two with your kids. Longer if you can get them to stop and read the descriptions! My kids especially love the tunnels under the fort. $4 per adult, kids under 12 are free.
